Manager Bob Melvin confirmed that Manaea (shoulder) won't require any further rehab starts in the minors and is on track to rejoin the big club in September, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

After a long recovery from left shoulder surgery, Manaea concluded his eight-start rehab assignment in impressive fashion Aug. 23, striking out 12 over seven shutout innings for Triple-A Las Vegas. Manaea rejoined the Athletics in Kansas City on Thursday and tossed a bullpen session, which should keep him sharp as he prepares for a likely appointment into the Oakland rotation next week. Melvin has yet to announce whether the Athletics would implement a six-man rotation in September or have Manaea replace one of their five starters. If Oakland decides to go the latter route, Brett Anderson or Homer Bailey would probably be most at risk of moving to the bullpen.

Scott was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday.

Scott made one appearance during his most recent stint with the Orioles, allowing two hits in an otherwise clean inning. The right-hander figures to return sometime in September when rosters expand. A corresponding roster move will be announced prior to Friday's series opener against the Royals.

Perez (forearm) shifted his rehab assignment to High-A Fayetteville earlier this week, tossing two scoreless innings in his appearance Monday.

After three outings with the Astros' rookie-level Gulf Coast League affiliate, Perez received the green light to move his rehab to the Carolina League. The lefty breezed through Monday's outing without many complications, ceding a pair of base hits and striking out one in the 25-pitch appearance. He could be cleared to rejoin Triple-A Round Rock before the affiliate begins its Pacific Coast League postseason run.

The Athletics designated Wang for assignment Thursday.

He'll cede his spot on the 40-man roster to infielder Sheldon Neuse, who was called up from Triple-A Las Vegas ahead of the Athletics' game against the Royals. Before being demoted to Triple-A earlier this month, Wang made 20 relief appearances for the big club this season, posting a 3.33 ERA and 1.22 WHIP across 27 innings.

Yarbrough didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 8-6 loss to the Astros, allowing three runs on four hits and a walk over six innings while striking out five.

The southpaw kept Houston off the board for three innings before getting tagged for three runs in the fourth, but Yarbrough still delivered his third quality start in his last four trips to the mound. He'll carry a 3.36 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 98:14 K:BB through 115.1 innings into his next outing Monday, at home against the Orioles.

Fulmer (hamstring) allowed two runs on one hit and two walks over a third of an inning for Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday.

Fulmer threw just five strikes among his 16 pitches while making the first appearance on his rehab assignment. The right-hander stands a good chance to be called up in September.

Leclerc struck out two through a scoreless inning to record his ninth save in a 3-0 win over the Angels on Wednesday.

Leclerc made quick work of the Angels to nail down his ninth save of the season. The closure was his first since Aug. 11 after he blew the save in his last opportunity. The 25-year-old has a 3.00 ERA with a 1.22 WHIP and four saves in his last nine appearances.

Jurado (7-10) gave up two hits and one walk while striking out one through six scoreless innings to get the win against the Angels on Wednesday.

Entering the game after an opener, Jurado efficiently delivered a nice outing in which he only allowed three baserunners in his six innings. The 23-year-old has a 6.08 ERA and a 1.50 WHIP in his last five appearances, but this outing was his first outing as the primary pitcher. Jurado lines up to pitch again Monday at Yankee Stadium, though it is not clear if he will get the start or serve as the primary pitcher.

Hill (2-0) earned the win over the A's on Wednesday by tossing a perfect inning with two strikeouts.

With the score tied 4-4 in the seventh inning, Hill came in to replace Jakob Junis and retired the side, including back-to-back strikeouts of Marcus Semien and Robbie Grossman. Luckily, the Royals pulled ahead in the bottom of the frame, handing Hill his second win of the season. Through 31 appearances, the southpaw reliever owns a 3.71 ERA and 1.39 WHIP.

Richards will work behind an opener Thursday against the Astros, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Richards worked as a traditional starter in his first two outings with the Rays, but he'll follow Andrew Kittredge in Thursday's contest. Richards has allowed two runs on 10 hits with a 14:4 K:BB over his last 12.1 innings.
