Lopez (3-5) took the loss in Friday's 11-4 rout by the Twins, coughing up eight runs on seven hits -- including three home runs -- and two walks over 3.2 innings while striking out three.

Minnesota's juggernaut offense has been steamrolling nearly every pitcher in its path this season, and Lopez was no exception. The right-hander gave up runs in every inning, and his streak of three straight quality starts ended with a massive thud. He'll take a 6.03 ERA and 57:27 K:BB through 59.2 innings into his next outing Wednesday, at home against the Royals.

Soto yielded five runs on six hits and a walk while striking out four over 3.2 innings Friday night in a no-decision against the Mets.

Soto was handed an early 4-0 lead heading into the third inning, but he gave up a solo homer in the bottom of the third followed by four more runs in the fourth prior to being removed. Luckily, his offense bailed him out by scoring nine runs on the way to victory. The 24-year-old southpaw has struggled so far this season in the majors, accruing a 13.03 ERA and 2.38 WHIP with eight strikeouts across 9.2 frames.

Hand secured the save Friday night against the Rays after allowing one hit and striking out two in the ninth inning.

Hand allowed the first batter of the inning to reach base on a single, but he managed to retire the next three in order, the last two via strikeout. He continues to be a reliable source of saves this season, converting all 13 of his chances, and he owns a 1.29 ERA with 30 punchouts over 21 innings.

Thornton gave up three runs on four hits and three walks while striking out 10 over six innings Friday in a no-decision against San Diego.

Thornton surrendered two runs in the third inning and another in the fifth before exiting the contest. The 25-year-old right-hander did manage to turn in his second straight quality start, though he wasn't able to pick up the victory in either outing. He'll carry a 4.42 ERA with 60 punchouts over 55 frames into his next outing.

Green won't serve as the opener Friday night against the Royals, as the game has been postponed due to inclement weather.

Green was lined up to toss the first inning or so of Friday's matchup prior to the postponement. J.A. Happ will toe the rubber for Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader, though the Yankees have yet to indicate their plans for the nightcap.

Barria was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday.

Barria was lit up for seven runs on 10 hits and a walk over 1.2 innings during his last outing April 27 with the Angels, but he's been granted another shot in the major leagues. Taylor Cole was sent to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Lopez is starting Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Yankees, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
