  • Blake Treinen RP | LAD

Athletics' Blake Treinen: Collects 36th save

Treinen tossed a scoreless ninth inning and picked up the save in Monday's victory over the Yankees.

Treinen continues to serve as one of the more reliable closers in baseball this year, going 36-for-40 on save opportunities. He's allowed just one run over his last 15 appearances (16.1 innings), and his last blown save dates back to July 21 against San Francisco. Treinen sports a 0.91 ERA and 0.89 WHIP with 91 strikeouts through 69.1 frames this season.

  • Liam Hendriks RP | CHC

Athletics' Liam Hendriks: To serve as opener Tuesday

Hendriks will begin Tuesday's game against the Yankees on the mound, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports.

Hendriks is slated to get the nod as it'll likely be a bullpen day for the Athletics. He took the loss in his last outing as the opener, giving up two runs on two hits and a walk over 1.2 innings Saturday against the Mariners. Manager Doug Melvin also stated that Frankie Montas will also get some work at some point during Tuesday's game.

  • Reynaldo Lopez RP | ATL

White Sox's Reynaldo Lopez: Goes seven strong in no-decision

Lopez didn't factor into the decision Monday against the Tigers, allowing one run on four hits while striking out six across seven innings.

Lopez was through six scoreless innings before allowing a game-tying solo homer to Niko Goodrum to open the seventh frame. The right-hander recovered to retire the next three batters, though a lack of run support forced him to settle with a no-decision. Lopez has now allowed just one run across seven innings in back-to-back outings, lowering his ERA from 4.66 to 4.37 in the process. He'll look to keep things rolling in his next start, which will come at home against the Angels.

  • Michael Fulmer RP | NYY

Tigers' Michael Fulmer: Suffers shin contusion

Fulmer was pulled with one out left in the sixth inning of his start Monday against the White Sox after suffering a right shin contusion.

The Tigers are considering Fulmer day-to-day, so it appears that he has a good chance to make his next start, which is lined up for Sunday against the Cardinals. It's unlikely that the injury shortened his outing by much, as he'd already thrown 96 pitches.

  • John Curtiss RP | ARI

Twins' John Curtiss: Called up by Twins

Curtiss was called up by the Twins on Monday, Brandon Warne of ZoneCoverage.com reports.

Curtiss appeared twice for the Twins earlier in the season, allowing three runs while getting just two outs. He pitched much better for Triple-A Rochester, pitching 54.1 innings with a 2.82 ERA.

  • Trevor May RP | ATH

Twins' Trevor May: Set to open Tuesday

May will serve as the opener for Tuesday's "bullpen day" against the Astros, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

May has posted a shiny 1.88 ERA and 22:3 K:BB across 14.1 innings of relief with the Twins this season. He's set to make his first start of the season Tuesday, though he'll likely only work one or two innings before giving way to a long reliever.

  • Michael Fulmer RP | NYY

Tigers' Michael Fulmer: Allows one run in no-decision

Fulmer pitched 5.2 innings of one-run ball but did not factor into the decision in Monday's loss to the White Sox. He allowed one hit and four walks, while striking out five.

Fulmer allowed a home run to leadoff hitter Nicky Delmonico, but then retired the next 17 White Sox hitters without giving up another hit. Unfortunately, the Detroit offense stayed dormant until the seventh inning, and Fulmer was not able to secure the win. This was the 25-year-old's best outing in three starts since returning from a stint on the disabled list with an oblique injury. Fulmer will look to keep it rolling Sunday against the Cardinals.

  • J.B. Bukauskas RP | MIL

Astros' J.B. Bukauskas: Moves up to Double-A

Bukauskas made his debut at Double-A Corpus Christi on Sunday, striking out eight over six scoreless innings while giving up just one hit and two walks.

Though he was sidelined for more than two months earlier in the season with an injury, the setback didn't derail what has been a banner campaign for the 21-year-old right-hander. Bukauskas has been sharp across stops at five different affiliates, most recently earning a promotion from the Carolina League after posting a 1.61 ERA and 0.93 WHIP while limiting opposing batters to a .138 average over five starts with High-A Buies Creek. He will pitch in the Arizona Fall League to make up for lost time and has an outside shot at reaching the big leagues in the second half of next season.

  • Ryan Bollinger RP | NYY

Yankees' Ryan Bollinger: Clears waivers and heads to Triple-A

Bollinger cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Monday.

Bollinger was removed from the 40-man roster when the Yankees acquired Adeiny Hechavarria on Friday. The 27-year-old has topped out at the Triple-A level, posting a 3.00 ERA there in three starts this season.

  • Danny Coulombe RP | BOS

Athletics' Daniel Coulombe: Designated for assignment

Coulombe was designated for assignment by the A's on Monday, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports.

The A's needed to free up a spot on their 40-man roster for Aaron Brooks, who was acquired from the Brewers via trade Monday. Coulombe posted a 4.56 ERA and 26:11 K:BB across 23.2 innings with the big club before being DFA'd. He could garner some interest on waivers given his serviceable 4.27 ERA across parts of five major-league seasons (143.1 innings).
