Jimmy Yacabonis RP | NYM
Orioles' Jimmy Yacabonis: Back to minors after spot start
Yacabonis was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk following Saturday's doubleheader against the Yankees.
Yacabonis will head back to the minors after serving as the team's 26th man during Saturday's doubleheader. He started Game 1 and took the loss, allowing six runs on five hits and two walks over 3.1 innings.

Ken Giles RP | ATL
Blue Jays' Ken Giles: Nails down 18th save
Giles allowed one hit in a scoreless ninth inning Saturday to pick up his 18th save of the season in an 8-6 win over the Phillies.
A two-out double by Carlos Santana made things interesting, but that's par for the course for Giles in the ninth inning. Despite the struggles that got him chased out of Houston, the 27-year-old still has yet to blow a save this year, and his 43:5 K:BB in 40.1 innings might be a better predictor of his future performance than his 5.58 ERA.

Jimmy Yacabonis RP | NYM
Orioles' Jimmy Yacabonis: Falters through 3.1 innings
Yacabonis (0-2) took the loss in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Yankees, allowing six runs and five hits over 3.1 innings. He struck out three and walked two.
Yacabonis needed 73 pitches to record only seven outs during the matinee. The 26-year-old has allowed 18 runs and five home runs over 19.1 innings at the major-league level this season.

Daniel Norris RP | CLE
Tigers' Daniel Norris: Bullpen work likely upon return
Manager Rod Gardenhire indicated Norris (hip) is likely to work out of the bullpen once he rejoins the Tigers, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Norris is set for a rehab start with Triple-A Toledo on Sunday and will have a pitch limit around 80. The 25-year-old has made only five appearances (two starts) in the majors this season after undergoing groin surgery in late April. Due to their place in the standings, the Tigers have no reason to rush back the left-hander if any concerns remain, so it's understandable for them to remain cautious.

Andrew Kittredge RP | BAL
Rays' Andrew Kittredge: Recalled from minors
Kittredge was recalled from Triple-A Durham on Saturday, Steve Carney of Sports Radio 620 WDAE reports.
Kittredge will once again join the Rays to serve in a low-leverage role out of the bullpen. The 28-year-old has allowed 23 runs (22 earned) with a 16:11 K:BB across 24.2 innings at the major-league level this season.

Ryan Yarbrough RP | NYY
Rays' Ryan Yarbrough: Takes hill vs. Boston on Saturday
Yarbrough will start Saturday's contest against the Red Sox, Marc Topkin of The Tampa Bay Times reports.
Yarbrough will be making his sixth start of the year and first since early July when he takes the mound Saturday. He has served as a "primary pitcher" -- coming in to work a majority of the game following an inning or two from the starter -- in over half his outings dating back to the All-Star break, so he will be able to last four or five innings if all goes according to plan. Across 31 appearances this year, he's logged a 3.84 ERA, a 1.26 WHIP, and an 8.0 K/9.

Drew Pomeranz RP | CHC
Red Sox's Drew Pomeranz: Strong relief effort in loss
Pomeranz allowed two runs on one hit and two walks while striking out two over 4.1 innings in Friday's 10-3 loss to the Rays.
Pomeranz was as good as we've seen him this season, particularly with his fastball. The left-hander arguably threw his best heater, with the four-seamer maxing out at 92.8 mph and the sinker hitting 92.2. Pomeranz replaced an ineffective Hector Velazquez, who had started in place of the injured Chris Sale (shoulder). The Red Sox won't need a fifth starter until Sept. 2, so Pomeranz will continue to pitch out of the bullpen. However, his effort Friday could lead to that Sept. 2 start if Sale's not ready to go by then.

Jimmy Yacabonis RP | NYM
Orioles' Jimmy Yacabonis: Recalled prior to Saturday's start
Yacabonis was called up from Triple-A Norfolk ahead of his start against the Yankees during Game 1 of Saturday's twin bill.
Yacabonis, who will serve as the club's 26th man, will likely return to the minors following the doubleheader. He's started three games for the Orioles this year, during which he's posted a 5.27 ERA and 1.39 WHIP with 12 strikeouts across 13.2 innings.

Cory Gearrin RP | NYY
Rangers' Cory Gearrin: Dominates in win
Gearrin (1-0) picked up the win Friday, striking out four over 1.2 innings in a 7-6 extra-inning win over the Giants.
The lone batter to put a ball in play against Gearrin fouled out to the catcher. It was a dominating performance by Gearrin, who was unflappable in getting the biggest outs of the game. The former Giant entered in the eighth inning with the bases loaded and struck out Brandon Belt and Evan Longoria. That enabled the Rangers to tie up the game in the ninth inning before winning it in the 10th. Gearrin has pitched effectively since being acquired from the Giants, posting a 2.75 ERA and a 0.92 WHIP over 19.2 innings. He's earned his role as a setup man, entrusted to high-leverage appearances.

Sean Manaea SP | NYM
Athletics' Sean Manaea: Gets 12th win
Manaea (12-9) allowed one unearned run on five hits in a win over the Twins on Friday, striking out one and walking one in five innings.
Manaea allowed no extra-base hits and threw 50 of 67 pitches for strikes, handing it over to the bullpen that subsequently tossed four hitless innings. Last year Manaea posted a 7.9 K/9 over 29 starts and this year has a 6.1 K/9 in 27 starts, but he's been much better about reducing the number of hits (.268 batting average against last year compared to a .232 opponent batting average this year). He's matched his win total from last year and will look to keep it going in his next start against the Astros in Houston.
