  • Carson Fulmer RP | PIT

White Sox's Carson Fulmer: Gets rocked by Rangers in loss

Fulmer (2-4) gave up eight runs on three hits in two innings of work against the Rangers on Friday. He walked five and struck out two in the loss.

Fulmer had a rough game, congesting the basepaths with five walks and two hit batsmen while throwing just 38 of 75 pitches for strikes. He was pulled in the third after loading the bases with the White Sox down 5-3, and reliever Chris Volstad gave up a grand slam to Shin-Soo Choo to cap his evening. Over his last three starts, Fulmer hasn't made it out of the fourth inning, giving up 17 earned runs in just 7.1 innings. He's put up a 29:24 K:BB in 32.1 innings overall, and opponents are hitting .280 against him. His next scheduled start is a matchup with the Orioles at home.

  • Matt Moore RP | BOS

Rangers' Matt Moore: Goes 3.2 innings in no-decision

Moore allowed five runs (four earned) on five hits in a no-decision against the White Sox on Friday. He struck out five and walked three over 3.2 innings.

Moore struggled in Friday's outing, needing 92 pitches (61 for strikes) and not even getting out of the fourth inning. Across his last four starts, Moore has allowed 22 earned runs over 16.1 innings, ballooning his ERA to 7.99 on the year. Opponents are hitting .344 off the left-hander, with lefties actually hitting .429 against him. Moore is scheduled to face off against the Yankees at home in his next start, but he needs to start pitching more effectively to keep his spot in the rotation.

  • Ken Giles RP | ATL

Astros' Ken Giles: Nabs seventh save against Cleveland

Giles worked around two hits in a scoreless ninth and struck out a batter for his seventh save Friday against Cleveland.

Giles still hasn't blown a save all season. Of his six earned runs, four came in a non-save appearance May 1 against the Yankees when he entered in a tie game and took the loss. Other than that, Giles has been excellent. Amazingly for somebody who has walked three or more batters per nine innings in each of the past three seasons, Giles has yet to walk a batter in 14.1 innings in 2018.

  • Michael Fulmer RP | NYY

Tigers' Michael Fulmer: Strikes out seven against Mariners

Fulmer didn't factor into the decision against Seattle on Friday, giving up three earned runs on three hits, striking out seven, and walking two as the Tigers fell to the Mariners, 5-4.

Fulmer was coming off a pair of rough outings that saw him give up 11 earned runs over his last 10 innings but he was able to bounce back and log a quality start in this contest to bring his ERA to 4.35 and his WHIP to 1.28 over 51.2 innings. He'll look to build off the solid showing in his next start, which will see him take on the Twins in a road matchup next Wednesday.

  • Edwin Diaz RP | LAD

Mariners' Edwin Diaz: Bounces back from blown save

Diaz got the save against the Tigers on Friday, working around one hit and recording one strikeout over a scoreless ninth inning to preserve Seattle's 5-4 victory.

Diaz was tagged with a blown save his last time out against the Rangers but the flame-throwing righty bounced back by protecting a one-run lead against the Tigers to lock down his American League-leading 15th save of the season. His 39:9 K:BB in 22.1 innings is the stuff of an elite closer and if the 24-year-old continues on his current pace he could wind up topping last season's total of 34 saves, provided he gets enough opportunities to do so.

  • Drew Pomeranz RP | CHC

Red Sox's Drew Pomeranz: Chased early in Friday's loss

Pomeranz (1-2) took the loss against the Orioles on Friday, giving up five runs (four earned) on seven hits and three walks over four innings while striking out two.

The left-hander threw only 48 of 81 pitches for strikes before exiting, the fourth time in six starts that Pomeranz has failed to last at least six innings. He'll take a 5.97 ERA into his next outing Thursday on the road against the Rays.

  • Blake Treinen RP | LAD

Athletics' Blake Treinen: Picks up ninth save Friday

Treinen struck out three over 1.1 perfect innings Friday to collect his ninth save of the season in a 3-1 win over the Blue Jays.

The right-hander is locked in right now, converting six straight save opportunities while posting an 11:3 K:BB through 9.2 innings in May. Treinen has lowered his ERA on the season to 1.25 in the process, and with the A's wining four of five to climb back over .500, there should be plenty more leads to protect in his future.

  • Jakob Junis RP | TEX

Royals' Jakob Junis: Gets fifth win of season

Junis (5-3) got the win against the Yankees on Friday, giving up two earned runs on seven hits over 5.1 innings with three strikeouts and a walk as the Royals won 5-2.

Junis hasn't been quite as dominant lately since his red-hot start to the season but he still continues to pitch well, as this victory against the Yankees lowered his ERA to 3.51 to go along with a 1.08 WHIP through 56.1 innings. Those numbers, along with his solid 48:12 K:BB, have allowed him to provide unexpectedly consistent fantasy value in the early going. If there's any reason for concern here, it would be that he's served up 11 long balls in his nine starts -- a trend that could start to negatively impact those shiny ratios should it persist.

  • Emilio Pagan RP | CIN

Athletics' Emilio Pagan: Joins Athletics on Friday

Pagan was promoted to the big leagues prior to Friday's game in Toronto, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Pagan will return to the major-league club after appearing in three games with Triple-A Nashville over the past two weeks. Over 13.2 innings with Oakland in March and April, the right-hander posted a 5.93 ERA and 1.76 WHIP with a 7:4 K:BB. Expect to see him serve out of low-leverage situations.

  • Trevor May RP | ATH

Twins' Trevor May: Makes first Triple-A rehab start

May (elbow) gave up one run in four innings with five strikeouts and two walks in a rehab start Thursday for Triple-A Rochester.

It's not clear how many rehab starts May will need before he's activated from the DL. It's also not clear if he'll initially return as a starter or reliever. However, it looks like he's close to adding depth to the Minnesota pitching staff after missing last season following Tommy John surgery.
