Sam Moll RP | CIN
Athletics' Sam Moll: Gets one out in MLB debut
Moll notched the last out of the eighth inning in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Mariners.
Just recalled from Triple-A Nashville earlier in the day, the 25-year-old southpaw's major-league debut lasted a grand total of two pitches. Moll enjoyed an impressive six-appearance stint with the Sounds before his promotion and is likely to see only sporadic work with the big-league club.

Sean Manaea SP | NYM
Athletics' Sean Manaea: Takes ninth loss despite quality start
Manaea (9-9) took the loss against the Mariners on Friday, giving up three earned runs on seven hits and three walks over 6.2 innings. He struck out three.
The 25-year-old southpaw was a tough-luck loser, as he certainly pitched well enough to reach double-digit wins for the first time in his young career. However, a lack of run support helped do in Manaea, who's now given up three earned runs or less in three straight starts after allowing 18 runs (13 earned) in the three outings prior. Manaea will once again try for his 10th win when he faces the Angels at home next Wednesday.

Reynaldo Lopez RP | ATL
White Sox's Reynaldo Lopez: Takes loss despite quality start
Lopez (0-2) held the Rays to three runs on five hits and a walk with seven strikeouts over six innings Friday night but still took the loss.
Lopez allowed a first-inning, two-run home run, but settled in after that, retiring the final 11 batters he faced. He's had a pair of quality starts in his first three major-league outings, but has yet to bring home a win despite his solid performances. Perhaps the most encouraging sign for the 23-year-old is that he has whiffed 19 hitters in just 16.1 innings. His 6.06 ERA is underwhelming, but Lopez is doing enough to earn a further look in the White Sox rotation.

Alex Colome RP | CHW
Rays' Alex Colome: Saves 41st game against White Sox
Colome completed his 41st save with a perfect ninth inning Friday against the White Sox.
Colome has now saved 12 consecutive opportunities and has allowed just one run over 14 innings with a 15:2 K:BB over that stretch. He now owns a 2.97 ERA to go with his league-leading save total, and he has done his best work in recent weeks.

Scott Alexander RP | SF
Royals' Scott Alexander: Snags one-out save
Alexander picked up a one-out save Friday night against the Twins, his second of the season.
Alexander was picking up the mess left by Kelvin Herrera (and an error from second baseman Whit Merrifield). He walked Jorge Polanco but struck out Eddie Rosario to end the game. Alexander owns a 2.24 ERA but would likely be behind Brandon Maurer and Mike Minor in the saves pecking order should Herrera continue to be ineffective or unavailable.

Keegan Akin RP | BAL
Orioles' Keegan Akin: Taking aim at AFL
Akin will report to Glendale to play in this year's Arizona Fall League, Brittany Ghiroli of MLB.com reports.
Akin, the Orioles' second-round pick in 2016, started his first full season with High-A Frederick. He had some ups and downs, but managed a 3.26 ERA over his last 10 starts before hitting the 7-day disabled list with an undisclosed injury. His development this fall should offer a strong indication of how far off he is from making his MLB debut.

Tanner Scott RP | LAD
Orioles' Tanner Scott: Will pitch in Arizona Fall League
Scott was assigned to play in this year's Arizona Fall League, Brittany Ghiroli of MLB.com reports.
Scott will be making his third trip to the AFL. The lefty, who can hit triple digits on the radar gun, has been working in three-inning stints for Double-A Bowie on five days' rest throughout the season. He has a 2.28 ERA in 67 innings with 83 strikeouts and 44 walks.

Andrew Case RP | TOR
Blue Jays' Andrew Case: Will pitch in Fall League
Case will pitch in the Arizona Fall League, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.
Case climbed through the organization from High-A Dunedin to Triple-A Buffalo during a breakout campaign in 2017. In total, the right-hander posted a 2.92 ERA and 1.10 WHIP over 49 games and 64.2 innings. Case projects as a back-end reliever who could fight for an MLB closer role in the coming years.

Dario Alvarez RP | SEA
Rangers' Dario Alvarez: Designated for assignment
Alvarez was designated for assignment Friday.
Although Alvarez posted a solid 2.76 ERA over 16.1 innings for the Rangers this year, the other shoe was bound to drop any second. Alvarez walked 14 batters in 16.1 innings and owned an absurd 2.02 WHIP. He was sharp for Triple-A Round Rock (2.33 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, 36:10 K:BB over 27 innings), so he may draw some interest on waivers.
