  • Twins' Hector Santiago: Confirmed for Sunday start

Santiago will start for the Twins on Sunday against the Indians, Nick Camino of Newsradio WTAM 1100 reports.

The southpaw has flashed a 2.76 ERA through his first seven starts, but that hides less exciting peripherals (6.6 K/9, 3.4 BB/9). While the Tribe has struggled against left-handers, Santiago's 3.82 FIP, 5.18 xFIP, 81.6 left-on-base percentage and .248 BABIP predict less enjoyable times ahead, which could start soon.

  • Michael Fulmer RP | NYY

Tigers' Michael Fulmer: Pitches well in Thursday win

Fulmer (4-1) picked up the win Thursday against the Angels. He pitched seven innings and allowed just a single run on three hits and two walks. He struck out seven.

Fulmer flew through the Angels' lineup, and he now has a 2.54 ERA on the season. Concerns that the young right-hander would regress in his second MLB season haven't come to fruition at all, as Fulmer is actually improving upon the numbers he posted last season as the AL Rookie of the Year. Fulmer lines up to face a dangerous Orioles team at home Wednesday in his next start, but he's pitching well enough to remain in fantasy lineups regardless of the opponent.

  • Ken Giles RP | ATL

Astros' Ken Giles: Surrenders run while grabbing 10th save

Giles allowed a run on two hits and a walk while striking out a batter in the ninth inning to collect his 10th save of the season during Thursday's win over the Yankees.

There have been some shaky appearances from Giles this season, but it's pretty clear that he's the unquestioned closer and has a sizable leash. His 2.00 FIP and 1.07 WHIP are probably more telling than his 4.20 ERA, too. Giles has a shot to lead the league in saves finishing games for the Astros, and his 10.8 K/9 is a helpful boost to the strikeouts column.

  • Rays' Brent Honeywell: Racking up strikeouts in Triple-A

Honeywell is 3-4 with a 3.40 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 52:9 K:BB over 39.2 innings across seven starts with Double-A Montgomery and Triple-A Durham.

The numbers include a 10-strikeout effort on Thursday, Honeywell's second double-digit strikeout game over seven trips to the mound. As per Sam Dykstra of MiLB.com, the promising 22-year-old ranks second in whiffs in the minors, checking in only behind teammate Jacob Faria (58). Honeywell opened the season at Double-A Montgomery, but he quickly made the jump up to the next level after going 1-1 with a 2.08 ERA and 20 strikeouts over two starts with the Biscuits.

  • Jamie Callahan RP | NYM

Red Sox's Jamie Callahan: Bumped up to Pawtucket

Callahan has been promoted to Triple-A Pawtucket, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

Callahan made quick work of Double-A Portland, pitching just 13 innings before heading up to Pawtucket. The converted starter posted a 1.38 ERA with 20 strikeouts and no walks over 10 relief appearances. This year is ahead of schedule for the 22-year-old right-hander to reach Boston but clearly the Red Sox feel he's ready for the challenge of Triple-A.

  • Red Sox's Craig Kimbrel: Fans five Brewers to collect second win

Kimbrel (2-0) struck out five batters over 1.2 scoreless innings with just a single hit allowed to record his second win of the season Thursday against Milwaukee.

Kimbrel fanned every batter he faced Thursday, and Mookie Betts' three-run home run in the top of the ninth inning put Boston ahead for good and another check mark in Kimbrel's wins column. It was his second victory of the season, and the closer also has 10 saves with a 1.15 ERA, 0.51 WHIP and 17.8 K/9. It's an impressive start, and pitching for a contender will help Kimbrel continue to pile up wins and saves.

  • Zach Putnam RP | BOS

White Sox's Zach Putnam: Resumes throwing Thursday

Putnam (elbow) played catch at both 45 and 60 feet Thursday.

This marks the first time Putnam has thrown since landing on the disabled list in late April with elbow inflammation. Putnam noted everything went well and he is continuing to progress through his rehab, though a timetable for return still wasn't specified. More should be known as he continues to ramp up his throwing.

  • Yankees' Giovanny Gallegos: Heads to big leagues

Gallegos was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Thursday.

Gallegos was sent back to Triple-A to start the season, but it comes as no surprise that he's headed to the big leagues after fanning 26 batters in just 14 innings pitched. He did walk six in that span and currently holds a 3.86 ERA, but he'll look to improve upon that as he presumably enters a middle-relief role in the Yankees' bullpen.

  • Casey Lawrence RP | SEA

Mariners' Casey Lawrence: Claimed by Mariners

Lawrence was claimed off waivers by the Mariners on Thursday.

To clear room on the 40-man roster, pitcher Evan Scribner was transferred to the 60-day DL. Lawrence owned just a 8.78 ERA through 13.1 innings with the Blue Jays this season before being designated for assignment. He did post a 0.90 ERA through 10 innings with Triple-A Buffalo, though that wasn't enough for the Blue Jays to keep him rostered. He should head to Triple-A Tacoma for the time being.

  • Zac Curtis RP | PHI

Mariners' Zac Curtis: Recalled from Double-A

Curtis was recalled from Double-A Arkansas on Thursday, Bob Dutton of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.

Curtis held a 3.21 ERA and 0.93 WHIP across 14 innings (10 games) with Double-A Arkansas before earning a promotion to the majors. The 24-year-old saw some time with the Diamondbacks in 2016, but he struggled to a 6.75 ERA and 10:13 K:BB through 13.1 innings (21 games), so he likely won't see anything other than low-leverage innings out of the Mariners' bullpen. Dan Altavilla was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma to clear room for Curtis.
