  • Matt Andriese RP | MIA

Rays' Matt Andriese: Wins second straight game Saturday

Andriese (8-7) moved back above .500 with a victory over the Orioles on Saturday. He allowed two runs on six hits, struck out three and walked none over 5.1 innings in the win.

Two sacrifice flies in the first three innings put Tampa Bay behind by two, but the Rays offense responded in the fourth and then sixth to take the lead for good. Since allowing seven runs in back-to-back starts, Andriese has yielded just three runs over his last 10.1 innings. He carries a 4.41 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 98 strikeouts in 116.1 innings this season.

  • Ken Giles RP | ATL

Astros' Ken Giles: Earns 11th save Saturday versus Mariners

Giles earned his 11th save of the season Saturday versus the Mariners, striking out two batters in a spotless inning of work.

Giles blew the save in his previous outing, but he was efficient this time out, throwing 10 of 13 pitches for strikes while retiring the side in order. His ERA sits at 3.58 and his overall total of saves is underwhelming given his early-season demotion, but Giles could pay dividends down the stretch.

  • Michael Fulmer RP | NYY

Tigers' Michael Fulmer: Will get two more regular-season starts this season

Fulmer is scheduled for two more starts over the final two weeks of the regular season, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports. The schedule should leave him available to pitch in the AL Wild Card Game should the Tigers qualify.

He will get a rematch against Cleveland, the team that hit him hard Friday night, in the season's final week. Fulmer's command was off -- he fired just 55 of his 100 pitches for strikes -- but there's good news. Fulmer's fastball averaged 95-96 mph, which is consistent with what he has thrown most of the season.

  • Red Sox's Craig Kimbrel: Notches 27th save with dominant performance Saturday

Kimbrel notched his 27th save by striking out all four batters he faced over 1.1 innings in Saturday's 6-5 victory over the Yankees.

The dominant closer came on with two out in the eighth and immediately mowed down Chase Headley with Didi Gregorius on first. Kimbrel then came back in the ninth to dispose of Andrew Romine, Mason Williams and Brett Gardner for his 13th consecutive scoreless outing. Kimbrel has successfully converted all eight of his save opportunities over that span while lowering his ERA from 3.50 to 2.66.

  • Yankees' Dellin Betances: Not available out of bullpen Saturday

Betances will not be available out of the bullpen for Saturday's game against Boston, Wallace Matthews of ESPN.com reports.

Manager Joe Girardi has ridden Betances for much of the season, especially after the Yankees dealt Andrew Miller and Aroldis Chapman. The heavy usage appeared to catch up to Betances on Thursday, his third consecutive day on the mound, when he gave up four runs to the Red Sox. Adam Warren or Tyler Clippard would be the likely candidates to close Saturday if a save situation arises.

  • Athletics' Kendall Graveman: Struggles in no decision Friday night against Rangers

Graveman allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk in 5.1 innings in a no-decision against the Rangers on Friday night.

Graveman was given a 6-2 lead entering the sixth, but had to be lifted after allowing three hits in the sixth inning. He was still in line for a win until Ryan Madson blew the save with two outs in the ninth. After a fantastic run since the start of June (3.19 ERA over 17 starts), Graveman has struggled in his last two starts, allowing 12 earned runs over 10.1 innings. He's next scheduled to take the mound Friday at home against Texas.

  • Michael Fulmer RP | NYY

Tigers' Michael Fulmer: Hit hard in Friday start

Fulmer (10-7) gave up six earned runs on seven hits and three walks over five innings in Friday's 11-4 loss to the Indians. He struck out three.

Despite having a full week since his last start, Fulmer once again showed some evidence of hitting a rookie wall. He was touched up early, giving up a double to Mike Napoli in the first and a two-run single to Carlos Santana in the second. Napoli got to him again in the fifth with a 390-foot shot that plated Jason Kipnis and helped put an end to Fulmer's night. The 23-year-old has now given up six earned runs twice in his last five starts and failed to complete six full innings in three of his last five trips to the mound. He'll look to get back on track when he takes on the Twins next Thursday.

  • Collin McHugh RP | ATL

Astros' Collin McHugh: Fires seven shutout innings

McHugh improved to 11-10 after tossing seven scoreless innings in Friday's 6-0 win over the Mariners. He allowed two hits and two walks while striking out six.

McHugh shut down Seattle over seven strong innings, lowering his ERA to 4.66 in the process. It's been an uneven season for the 29-year-old, who's struggled to maintain any sort of consistency a year after winning 19 games. He's been pitching better recently, however, going 3-0 with a 2.42 ERA and a 1.03 WHIP over his last four starts. He'll look to stay hot in Wednesday's road start against a weak A's offense.

  • Red Sox's Craig Kimbrel: Records two-out save

Kimbrel picked up his 26th save Friday against the Yankees, striking out the only two batters he faced.

Kimbrel was called upon to salvage the ninth inning after Fernando Abad ran into trouble, and he quickly dispatched Jacoby Ellsbury and Gary Sanchez on strikes to quash the rally. He's allowed just one run and four hits over his last 10 appearances, and has fanned 13 over that time frame.

  • Brad Boxberger RP | CHC

Rays' Brad Boxberger: Bounces back to nab fourth win of season Thursday

Boxberger (4-1) bounced back from giving up a game-winning homer against the Blue Jays on Monday by pitching a clean two-thirds of an inning against the Orioles in Thursday's victory.

The former closer redeemed himself at a relatively early but critical juncture in Thursday's contest, as he was called on in relief of Blake Snell with two men on and only one out in the fifth. Boxberger got a huge out when he induced Mark Trumbo into a foul pop, and followed that up by eliciting an inning-ending RBI groundout back to the mound from Chris Davis. The effort helped preserve what was a 7-4 Rays lead at the time. Boxberger has given up an earned run apiece in two outings against Toronto in September, but has otherwise pitched scoreless ball in five other trips to the mound during the month. The 28-year-old is 2-1 with a hold and a blown save over that span, and brought his ERA back down to 2.89 with Thursday's performance.
