White Sox's Petricka nets first save with Robertson unavailable
With White Sox manager Robin Ventura looking to stay away from closer David Robertson on Thursday, he turned to Zach Duke and Jake Petricka to close out a 3-2 win in the first game of a doubleheader against the Orioles.
Ventura kept Duke in the game in the ninth inning after he relieved Chris Sale with two outs in the bottom of the eighth. Duke struck out Manny Machado in the eighth to preserve a 2-0 lead. He took the mound in the ninth with a 3-0 lead.
He struck out the first two batters in the ninth before running into trouble. Delmon Young had a two-out single, and then Chris Davis parked a two-run homer into the right-field seats to cut the deficit to one.

McHugh then surrendered back-to-back home runs to Chris Davis and Steve Pearce before finally being able to get out of the inning. McHugh, who remains 5-2, moved his ERA to 3.68 in his six innings of work. He will look to get back on track when he faces the Orioles again on Tuesday.

White Sox RP David Robertson blows save, gets win Wednesday
White Sox closer David Robertson blew his second save in as many games on Wednesday against the Blue Jays. For the second straight game, he served up a ninth-inning home run to Josh Donaldson, with Wednesday's bomb tying the game at three.
"I'm not going to sit there and dwell on the fact," Robertson said of his second straight blown save, per MLB.com. "You have bad games. This is the big leagues. You're going to make mistakes. Guys are going to hit home runs. You're going to have whole runs where you have two or three bad outings in a row. You just have to push those aside and move on to the next thing. It's over. It's already done. You can't change it."
Fortunately for Robertson, the offense bailed him out by scoring twice in the top of the 10th. Robertson came back out for the bottom half and was able to secure the victory, earning his fourth win on the season.
