Liam Hendriks lucky to take no-decision

Coming off his first win of the season his last time out, Twins starter Liam Hendriks didn't have quite as solid an outing Wednesday afternoon in Houston.

The Astros jumped on him for three runs in the first inning and he could never recover. Hendriks, however, avoided suffering the loss as Ryan Doumit hit a solo homer in the ninth to tie the score. His record remains 1-2 on the season.

Hendriks allowed five runs -- three earned -- on eight hits and two walks over just 4 1/3 innings. He threw 98 pitches and struck out three batters. Hendriks, who was making his sixth start of the year and fourth since coming back up in early August, has given up 10 earned runs over 8 2/3 innings in the two starts before and after his lone win on Aug. 30 at Texas.

The 24-year-old has been anything but consistent with a 5.28 ERA on the year. His next scheduled start comes Tuesday against Oakland.
