Lack of fastball command hurting Tim Collins
Royals reliever Tim Collins dropped to 2-3 after taking a relief loss Tuesday against the Indians. It added to his recent run of poor performances, as Collins has a 27.00 ERA and .417 opponents' batting average in his last five outings.
"I can’t say it’s everything because I’m falling behind, and I can’t throw my offspeed (pitches)," Collins said, per The Kansas City Star. "When you’re not throwing strikes with your fastball, they’re not even going to swing at your offspeed (pitches). You can’t even throw it. Right now, it’s just (a lack of) fastball command and getting ahead of hitters."
