Victor Mederos RP | LAA
Angels' Victor Mederos: Called up by Halos
The Angels recalled Mederos from High-A Tri City on Sunday.
Mederos spent most of the campaign in Double-A Rocket City's starting rotation, but he moved to Tri City for his last outing. The right-hander hasn't pitched well at either level, as he allowed six runs at High-A and has a 6.60 ERA, 1.75 WHIP and 69:48 K:BB across 88.2 innings at Double-A. He'll likely serve as a long-relief option while he's up with the big club.

Austin Adams RP | BOS
Athletics' Austin Adams: IL move official
The Athletics placed Adams on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to right forearm tendinitis.
Per MLB.com, Adams' injury is expected to be a short-term issue, but he'll be unavailable for at least the next couple weeks. Dany Jimenez (oblique) was reinstated from the 15-day IL in a corresponding move and will take Adams' spot in the bullpen.

Dany Jimenez RP | ATL
Athletics' Dany Jimenez: Returns from injured list
The Athletics reinstated Jimenez (oblique) from the 15-day injured list Sunday.
Jimenez landed on the shelf in late June due to an oblique strain, but he's ready to rejoin the A's after a four-game rehab assignment. The right-hander has a save and five holds with a 3.04 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 21:18 K:BB across 23.2 innings this season.

Colin Selby RP | BAL
Orioles' Colin Selby: Joins big-league club
The Orioles recalled Selby from Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday.
The 26-year-old was acquired from the Royals in early July and will now receive his first look in the big leagues with the Orioles. Selby also spent time with the Pirates earlier in the season, but he's struggled at Triple-A between all three organizations with a 5.79 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 42:16 K:BB over 32.2 innings.

Tyler Holton RP | DET
Tigers' Tyler Holton: Covers three innings for hold
Holton tossed three scoreless innings to earn a hold in Saturday's 4-0 win over the Yankees. He allowed one hit and struck out two.
After starter Keider Montero covered five scoreless innings, Holton preserved Detroit's lead in the sixth, seventh and eighth to earn his ninth hold of the season. The lefty has emerged as the team's most reliable reliever this year, posting a sparkling 2.55 ERA and 0.83 WHIP across 70.2 innings. Among Detroit players who have primarily worked out of the bullpen this season, he leads the team in innings. Holton should remain a trusted relief option moving forward.

Richard Lovelady RP | NYM
Rays' Richard Lovelady: Four-out save
Lovelady didn't allow a baserunner across 1.1 scoreless innings to pick up the save Saturday against Arizona.
Manuel Rodriguez began the eighth inning with a 6-1 lead but loaded the bases with two outs. Lovelady was called in to get out of the jam and induced a groundout against lefty Corbin Carroll to end the frame. He then remained in the contest and completed a clean ninth inning to unconventionally earn his second career save. Pete Fairbanks remains the primary closer for the Rays.

Cole Sands RP | MIN
Twins' Cole Sands: Notches fourth save
Sands earned a save against the Rangers on Saturday, striking out one batter in a perfect inning of work.
Minnesota carried a three-run lead into the ninth inning, and manager Rocco Baldelli elected to call upon Sands with primary closer Jhoan Duran having pitched on three consecutive days. The decision proved to be the right one, as Sands cruised to a save by retiring the side in order on just nine pitches. The right-hander has registered a career-high four saves on the campaign, though his opportunities in that regard are highly unpredictable with Duran having a firm grasp on the closer role and Griffin Jax typically second in line with eight saves on the season.

Michel Otanez RP | TEX
Athletics' Michel Otanez: Earns first career save
Otanez allowed a hit and a walk while striking out three over a scoreless inning to earn the save in Saturday's 2-0 win over the Giants.
Mason Miller and Tyler Ferguson were presumably unavailable after heavy workloads in the Athletics' last game Thursday. Otanez was a little fresher, and while it took him 26 pitches (17 strikes) to get the job done, he was able to secure his first major-league save in just his 18th appearance. Otanez has allowed two runs with a 13:1 K:BB over eight innings in August, and he's now at a 3.50 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 29:10 K:BB through 18 innings overall. He's added just one hold this year, so it's unlikely that he'll feature regularly in high-leverage situations.

Osvaldo Bido SP | NYY
Athletics' Osvaldo Bido: Dazzles again in win
Bido (4-3) allowed a hit and two walks while striking out six over six shutout innings to earn the win Saturday over the Giants.
Bido has turned in consecutive starts of six scoreless innings. The right-hander has posted a quality start in all three of his outings in August, allowing just three runs (two earned) over 18 innings while adding a 17:6 K:BB. For the season, Bido has a 3.40 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 45:21 K:BB through 45 innings over 12 appearances (six starts). He's emerged as a reliable starter for Oakland, and he's projected to make his next start at home versus the Rays.

Austin Adams RP | BOS
Athletics' Austin Adams: Heading to IL
The Athletics are placing Adams on the injured list Sunday with right elbow tightness, Jason Burke of SI.com reports.
Adams hasn't pitched since Monday when he threw a scoreless inning against the Mets en route to his first win of the season. It appears he picked up an injury during the outing and it's considered severe enough to warrant an IL stint. Grant Holman and Scott Alexander are candidates to see more high-leverage work while Adams is shelved.
