Yankees' Clay Holmes: Second straight blown save
Holmes was stuck with a blown save in Friday's loss to the Red Sox, allowing one run on two hits while striking out one over two-thirds of an inning.
Holmes replaced Luke Weaver with one out and runners on first and second in the eighth inning. The right-hander promptly allowed a game-tying double to Wilyer Abreu before the Red Sox took a two-run lead on a Masataka Yoshida single. The 31-year-old Holmes has now blown back-to-back save chances and three of his last five opportunities while struggling to a 7.29 ERA in his last 11.1 innings. Overall, he's 21-for-28 in save chances this year with a 2.88 ERA, 1.30. WHIP and 43:10 K:BB across 40.2 innings.

Red Sox's Kenley Jansen: Hangs on for 20th save
Jansen earned the save in Friday's 9-7 win over the Yankees, working around a pair of hits while striking out two in a scoreless ninth inning.
The Yankees made things interesting in the ninth with a pair of one-out singles. However, Jansen would strike out DJ LeMahieu before coaxing a game-ending groundout from Anthony Volpe to secure his 20th save. Jansen hadn't pitched since Sunday, as he didn't travel with the Red Sox for their series in Colorado earlier this week due to a pre-existing heart condition. Prior to his absence, Jansen had allowed five runs over his previous three appearances (four innings) The veteran closer now sports a 3.06 ERA this season with a 1.19 WHIP and 40:14 K:BB across 35.1 innings.

Guardians' Emmanuel Clase: Collects 32nd save
Clase earned a save against the Phillies on Friday, allowing one hit and striking out one in a scoreless inning.
Clase entered the contest in the bottom of the ninth inning and retired the first two batters he faced before giving up a hit to Bryson Stott. The veteran closer would then strike out Weston Wilson to end the contest. The save was Clase's third in the last four days and his 19th consecutive conversion since his last blown save May 19. The 26-year-old has 32 saves on the campaign and ranks second in the majors behind Ryan Helsley (33).

Mariners' Gregory Santos: Could return Saturday
Mariners manager Scott Servais said Friday that the results of an MRI on Santos' right knee "came back OK," Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
It's not as promising as hearing that the MRI revealed nothing, but it appears Santos will avoid a stint on the IL and could be available as soon as Saturday. The right-hander was removed in the eighth inning of Wednesday's game against the Angels after being called for a balk. Before exiting, he had allowed two runs on two hits while striking out one over 0.2 innings.

Cole Sulser RP | TB
Rays' Cole Sulser: Traded to Tampa Bay
The Mets traded Sulser to the Rays on Friday for cash, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Sulser was designated for assignment by the Mets on Monday, and the 34-year-old right-hander will now head to Tampa Bay. Across four major-league outings this season, Sulser has given up five runs on six hits and three walks while striking out seven in 4.2 innings. He had far more success across his 24 appearances with Triple-A Syracuse this season, posting a 1.48 ERA and 1.06 WHIP over 30.1 frames. He'll stay at that level, with the Rays optioning Sulser to Triple-A Durham following the trade.

Rays' Tyler Zuber: Recalled from Durham
The Rays recalled Zuber from Triple-A Durham on Friday.
Zuber pitched out of the Rays' bullpen Monday against the Yankees, allowing one run across 1.1 innings before being sent back down to Durham the next day. Across 18 outings in Triple-A this season, Zuber has a 2.49 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 29:6 K:BB across 21.2 innings.

Angels' Kenny Rosenberg: Sent back to Triple-A
The Angels optioned Rosenberg to Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday.
Rosenberg yielded three homers and six runs Thursday during his first start of the season and was returned to Triple-A after the outing. Davis Daniel was called up in a corresponding move. Rosenberg owns a 3.74 ERA in 77.0 innings with Salt Lake this season.

Blue Jays' Zach Pop: Recalled from Buffalo
The Blue Jays recalled Pop from Triple-A Buffalo on Friday.
The trade of Yimi Garcia to the Mariners on Friday cleared a spot in the Blue Jays' bullpen, so Pop will come up from the minors to fill the opening. The 27-year-old righty owns a 5.90 ERA and 1.41 WHIP through 29 innings in the majors this season, and he'll likely be limited to middle relief while in Toronto. Jonatan Clase was optioned to Buffalo in a corresponding move.

Orioles' Vinny Nittoli: Designated for assignment
The Orioles designated Nittoli for assignment Friday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
Nittoli will lose his spot on the Orioles' roster following the acquisition of Zach Eflin in a trade with Tampa Bay on Friday. The 33-year-old Nittoli has been a reliable option out of the bullpen this season, posting 1.50 ERA through 12 innings between the Athletics and Orioles, making it likely another team claims him off waivers.

Red Sox's Liam Hendriks: Completes bullpen session
Hendricks (elbow) threw a 30-pitch bullpen session Friday, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.
Hendricks has been ramping up in July, but he has yet to mix in his full array of pitches during a bullpen session. Still, it's an encouraging sign for the 35-year-old in his recovery from Tommy John surgery. Hendricks could advance to facing live hitters soon before beginning a rehab assignment.
