  • Daniel Duarte RP | NYM

Reds' Daniel Duarte: Optioned to Louisville

Duarte was optioned to Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Sam Moll, acquired from the Athletics on Monday, will take over the vacant bullpen spot. Duarte, 26, has pitched to a 4.30 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 11:10 K:BB in 14.2 innings of relief this season at the major-league level.

  • Diamondbacks' Peter Strzelecki: Dealt to Arizona

Strzelecki was traded from the Brewers to the Diamondbacks on Tuesday in exchange for Andrew Chafin, John Gamdaboro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM Phoenix reports.

Strzelecki has a 3.69 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 77 strikeouts in 70.2 career MLB innings, but he has split time between the majors and Triple-A each of the last two seasons. Strzelecki will be optioned to Triple-A Reno, per Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com, but he could come back to work in the middle innings for Arizona later this season.

  • Andrew Chafin RP | CIN

Brewers' Andrew Chafin: Sent north to Milwaukee

The Brewers acquired Chafin from the Diamondbacks on Tuesday in exchange for Peter Strzelecki, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.

Chafin spent time in the closer role for Arizona earlier this year, accumulating eight saves, and he's more than just a situational lefty. In fact, Chafin has held opposing right-handed hitters to a .185/.267/.370 line so far this season. The 33-year-old will pitch important innings for Milwaukee down the stretch as the club looks to overtake the Reds in the NL Central.

  • Jose Alvarado RP | PHI

Phillies' Jose Alvarado: Another bullpen session

Alvarado (elbow) threw a successful 25-pitch bullpen session Tuesday, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Alvarado said after the workout that he will throw one more bullpen session before taking the next step in his recovery. The lefty reliever has been sidelined since early July because of elbow inflammation but should be able to return to the Phillies' bullpen sometime in August.

  • Robert Garcia RP | TEX

Nationals' Robert Garcia: Claimed by Washington

Garcia was claimed off waivers by the Nationals on Tuesday.

Garcia was recently removed from Miami's 40-man roster and will now join a new organization. The 27-year-old recorded just one out during his big-league debut July 14 and has a 2.85 ERA in 31 outings at the Triple-A level this season.

  • Justin Bruihl RP | STL

Rockies' Justin Bruihl: Traded to Colorado

Colorado acquired Bruihl from the Dodgers on Tuesday in exchange for cash considerations, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.

Bruihl was designated for assignment by the Dodgers last Friday, having logged a 4.07 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 19:8 K:BB through 24.1 major-league innings on the season. The 26-year-old left-hander could soon join the Rockies' big-league bullpen after they traded Brad Hand to Atlanta on Tuesday. For now, though, Bruihl will be stationed at Triple-A Albuquerque.

  • Brad Hand RP | ATL

Braves' Brad Hand: Shipped to Atlanta

The Rockies traded Hand to Atlanta on Tuesday in exchange for Alec Barger, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.

Hand is not all that far removed from fantasy relevance -- he was an All-Star closer with San Diego and Cleveland from 2017-19 -- but he didn't earn a single save during his time with Colorado. The 33-year-old can still get lefties out (.143/.276/.204 vs. LHH this season) and he provides Atlanta with a second southpaw in the bullpen behind A.J. Minter.

  • Alec Barger RP | COL

Rockies' Alec Barger: Shipped to Colorado

Barger was traded from Atlanta to Colorado on Tuesday in exchange for Brad Hand, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.

A 25-year-old relief pitcher at Double-A, Barger is a low-end prospect, but he does have 11 minor-league saves over the past three years. Barger logged a 3.29 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, 48 strikeouts, 21 walks and five saves in 38.1 innings this season.

  • Pedro Avila RP | CLE

Padres' Pedro Avila: Gets starting nod Tuesday

Avila will start for the Padres on Tuesday at Colorado, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Avila has thrown five scoreless innings of relief this season at the major-league level, but the 26-year-old was sporting a rough 8.83 ERA across 52 innings in a starting role at Triple-A El Paso prior to being recalled July 23. He's not a recommended fantasy streamer for Tuesday's spot start at Coors Field.

  • Keaton Winn SP | SF

Giants' Keaton Winn: Goes on IL at Triple-A

Triple-A Sacramento placed Winn (elbow) on its 7-day injured list Saturday.

Winn was deactivated after he experienced soreness in his right elbow coming out of his most recent outing with Sacramento on July 22. Fortunately for Winn, his follow-up tests revealed no structural damage to his elbow, but it's unclear if he'll be able to pitch again in 2023 while he recovers from the injury. Before he was optioned to Sacramento on July 6, Winn went 2-1 with a 4.09 ERA and 1.05 WHIP across 22 innings in five appearances (two starts) with the Giants.
