Dodgers' Tayler Scott: Option to Triple-A rescinded

Scott's option Tuesday to Triple-A Oklahoma City has been rescinded, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Scott was going to be the corresponding 26-man roster casualty for Bobby Miller's promotion, but Tyler Cyr (shoulder) will instead head to the 15-day IL as the corresponding move. Scott should be available out of the Dodgers' bullpen Tuesday night against Atlanta.

  • Tyler Cyr RP | LAD

Dodgers' Tyler Cyr: Placed on 15-day IL

Cyr was placed on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with a right shoulder impingement, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Cyr had logged two scoreless relief appearances with the Dodgers since being selected to the MLB roster on Friday. It's unclear at this point how long he might be sidelined.

Dodgers' Tayler Scott: Sent back to Triple-A

The Dodgers optioned Scott to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Bobby Miller will fill the vacant 26-man roster spot and make his MLB debut in a start Tuesday night against Atlanta. Scott did not get an appearance during his one-day stay with Los Angeles.

  • Brad Boxberger RP | CHC

Cubs' Brad Boxberger: No structural damage in arm

Cubs manager David Ross said Tuesday that imaging scans showed no structural damage in Boxberger's right arm, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

"I don't think it's going to be a super long thing or have to deal with surgery as of now," said Ross. Boxberger will be shut down from throwing for a bit, but he should be an option again for the Cubs' bullpen within the next month or so. He was placed on the injured list last week with what was originally called a right forearm strain.

  • Giants' Reggie Crawford: Cleared for Single-A games

Crawford (elbow/illness) reported Tuesday to Single-A San Jose, Evan Webeck of the San Jose Mercury News reports.

Crawford required Tommy John surgery in October 2021, while he was still in college, and then had to slow his rehab this spring after being diagnosed with mononucleosis. The 22-year-old is fully healthy now and ready to show that he can be a two-way player for the Giants. They mostly believe in his long-term promise as a pitcher, but it sounds like he is also going to get chances at first base and designated hitter as he makes his way through the lower minors.

  • Codi Heuer RP | CLE

Cubs' Codi Heuer: Another rehab outing this week

Heuer (elbow) is on track for another rehab outing this week with Triple-A Iowa, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Heuer has struggled mightily on the farm so far, yielding seven earned runs on six hits and six walks through 4.2 innings. He's on the 60-day IL, so the Cubs can slow play the final steps of his recovery from Tommy John surgery until they see better results. There's no exact timetable for his activation.

  • Phillies' Andrew Bellatti: Optioned to Triple-A

The Phillies optioned Bellatti to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Dylan Covey, claimed off waivers from the Dodgers this weekend, will fill the vacant 26-man roster spot. Bellatti, 31, has struggled to a 5.68 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and 14:9 K:BB in 12.2 innings of relief this season at the major-league level.

  • Ryan Helsley RP | BAL

Cardinals' Ryan Helsley: Takes extra-inning loss

Helsley (2-3) allowed an unearned run on a walk and a wild pitch while striking out three over 1.1 innings, taking the extra-inning loss Monday versus the Reds.

Helsley did his part to keep the game tied in the ninth inning, but a walk and a wild pitch put runners on the corners in the 10th. Nick Senzel then delivered a sacrifice fly for the walk-off win. This was the fourth time in 17 appearances that Helsley has given up a run, though the other three instances saw him yield multiple runs. He has a 3.15 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 27:7 K:BB while adding five saves, two holds and three blown saves through 20 innings.

  • Matt Cronin RP | WAS

Nationals' Matt Cronin: Goes on minor-league IL

Cronin (undisclosed) was placed on the 7-day injured list Tuesday at Triple-A Rochester, Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com reports.

There is no official diagnosis yet, but Cronin had been struggling badly with Rochester this season after looking like one of the more promising young relievers in the Nationals' system last year. He posted a 2.42 ERA with 56 strikeouts over 52 innings between Double-A and Triple-A in 2022. Conversely, he's pitched to a 5.02 ERA and 13:14 K:BB through 14.1 frames this season.

  • David Bednar RP | NYY

Pirates' David Bednar: Shaky in non-save situation

Bednar allowed two earned runs on two hits while striking out two in the ninth inning of Monday's win over the Rangers.

Bednar entered the game to begin the ninth inning with a 6-2 lead. He allowed a leadoff single and a subsequent two-run homer, though he managed to hold the lead for the Pirates. Bednar hasn't had a save opportunity since April 29 due to the team's struggles, though he is still the locked-in closer and has a 1.50 ERA with a 0.93 WHIP and 24:1 K:BB across 18 frames this season.
