Michael Fulmer RP | SF
Cubs' Michael Fulmer: Gets hit hard Thursday
Fulmer (0-2) allowed four runs on three hits and a walk while retiring only one batter to take the loss Thursday against the Dodgers.
Fulmer had a nightmare outing out of the bullpen, which pushed his ERA up to 7.56. He had an ERA of 3.38 coming into the night but will now need to string together some good performances to get back to a respectable level. Brad Boxberger has been more effective so far, and it wouldn't be shocking to see the Cubs look his way in the ninth instead of Fulmer, at least in the short term.

Drew Pomeranz RP | LAA
Padres' Drew Pomeranz: Hurls perfect frame in rehab outing
Pomeranz (neck/elbow) struck out one batter in a perfect inning for Single-A Lake Elsinore on Tuesday.
This was Pomeranz's first rehab outing of the campaign and just his sixth time appearing in a game at any level since 2021. The veteran reliever is attempting to work his way back to the majors after flexor tendon surgery and a subsequent setback kept him away from the Padres for all of 2022. The length of Pomeranz's rehab assignment isn't yet clear, but manager Bob Melvin has suggested that it could be on the short side, per MLB.com.

Colin Holderman RP | CLE
Pirates' Colin Holderman: Survives trouble
Holderman allowed two earned runs on three hits while striking out one across one inning Thursday against the Reds.
Holderman entered the game in the eighth inning with a three-run lead. He was erratic early, as he made both a throwing error and threw a wild pitch in the span of the first two batters he faced. That led to two runs crossing the plate, though he managed to get the final two outs of the frame with the tying run at third base. Holderman has pitched in a traditional setup role -- he tallied his eighth hold Thursday -- and has a 2.00 ERA with an 8:3 K:BB across nine innings on the season.

David Bednar RP | NYY
Pirates' David Bednar: Grabs sixth save
Bednar picked up the save in Thursday's 4-3 victory over the Reds, logging a strikeout in a clean ninth inning.
Bednar made quick work of the Reds on Thursday, recording three outs on 12 pitches to earn his sixth save of the year. The Pittsburgh native is now 6-for-7 in save opportunities as he lowers his ERA to 1.00. Bednar is 2-1 with a 0.89 WHIP and 9:1 K:BB through nine innings to start the season, and he's gotten more save chances than expected on a surprising 13-7 Pirates team.

Robert Suarez RP | ATL
Padres' Robert Suarez: Moved to 60-day IL
Suarez (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Thursday.
Suarez was placed on the 15-day IL toward the end of March, and he was recently shut down from throwing after experiencing tightness in his right elbow while playing catch. There's still no details on when the Padres plan to have him get back to throwing, but he will certainly be out for much longer than originally expected.

Evan Phillips RP | LAD
Dodgers' Evan Phillips: Placed on paternity list
Phillips was placed on the paternity list Thursday.
Phillips will be sidelined for at least Thursday's game against the Cubs but must return by Sunday's series finale. While not the exclusive closer, he has two saves and has worked a high-leverage role for the Dodgers this season. Brusdar Graterol and Alex Vesia are the primary options to serve in the closer role while Phillips is away from the team.

Andre Jackson RP | PIT
Dodgers' Andre Jackson: Back in majors
Jackson was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Three days after being optioned to Triple-A, Jackson is back with the major-league club. The 26-year-old reliever has been hit around quite a bit this season -- partially due to issues with tipping his pitches. Yonny Hernandez will be sent down to Oklahoma City to make room for Jackson on the roster.

Javier Assad RP | CHC
Cubs' Javier Assad: Back in majors
Assad was recalled from Triple-A Iowa and will start against the Dodgers on Thursday, Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune reports.
After being optioned down to Triple-A on April 10, Assad will return to the major-league roster less than two weeks later, as Jameson Taillon (groin) lands on the 15-day injured list. Assad has struggled in both the majors and minors this season, so he shouldn't be viewed as a reliable fantasy option.

Anthony Misiewicz RP | CIN
Diamondbacks' Anthony Misiewicz: Recalled from Triple-A
Misiewicz was recalled Thursday from Triple-A Reno.
Misiewicz was acquired from the Cardinals in late March and will get his first look with the Diamondbacks in a relief role. The 28-year-old southpaw carries a 4.43 ERA through 103.2 career major-league innings.

Jimmy Yacabonis RP | NYM
Mets' Jimmy Yacabonis: Snags win in relief
Yacabonis (2-0) picked up the win Wednesday, allowing one run on two hits and a walk over 2.2 innings of relief. He struck out one.
The journeyman right-hander entered the game to begin the fourth inning following Max Scherzer's ejection, putting him in position for the win when the Mets took the lead for good in the fifth. Yacabonis has two wins in two appearances since joining the Mets' bullpen over the weekend to fill a long-relief role, but with the team likely scrambling to patch together its staff with Scherzer facing a 10-game suspension for use of a foreign substance, Yacabonis could be cycled out for a fresh bullpen arm at some point over the next couple weeks.
