Reed was claimed off waivers by the Dodgers on Friday.

After being claimed off waivers by Boston in October, Reed was almost immediately dropped from the 40-man roster Tuesday and will now return for his third stint with the Dodgers. Reed bounced between the Dodgers, Orioles and Mets in 2022, recording a 7.02 ERA and 1.50 WHIP across 16.2 innings.

Matzek (elbow) signed a two-year, $3.1 million deal Friday that includes a $5.5 million club option for 2025.

Matzek underwent Tommy John surgery on his left elbow in October, so he will almost certainly miss all of the 2023 season. Still, the 32-year-old southpaw has a 2.92 ERA and 1.22 WHIP since joining the Braves in 2020, so it's not much of a surprise to see the team eager to lock him down for the next few years.

Suter was claimed off waivers by the Rockies on Friday.

Suter got off to a rough start last season, posting a 4.58 ERA ahead of the All-Star break, but a 2.87 ERA and 1.05 WHIP during the second half of the season showed that the 33-year-old lefty was still a viable option out of the 'pen. He could be an arm that Colorado relies on often in 2023 as the team looks to improve on a 2022 campaign in which they ranked last in bullpen ERA (4.85).

Brigham and right-handed pitcher Elieser Hernandez were traded from the Marlins to the Mets in exchange for minor-league pitcher Franklin Sanchez on Friday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Brigham was designated for assignment by the Marlins on Tuesday and will now head to New York after the Mets acquired him via trade. Over 16 appearances with Miami in 2022, the reliever produced a respectable 3.38 ERA and 1.33 WHIP with 28 punchouts over 24 innings. The acquisition of Brigham gives the Mets an additional veteran arm out of the bullpen for the 2023 campaign.

Hernandez and reliever Jeff Brigham were traded from the Marlins to the Mets in exchange for minor-league pitcher Franklin Sanchez on Friday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Hernandez will make his way to New York after being designated for assignment by the Marlins on Tuesday and dealt via trade a few days later. The right-hander appeared in 20 games with the Marlins in 2022, including 10 starts, producing an inflated 6.35 ERA and 1.43 WHIP with 60 strikeouts over 62.1 innings. Hernandez will provide the Mets with an additional depth option for their starting rotation.

Farmer signed a one-year, $1.75 million contract with the Reds on Thursday, avoiding arbitration, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.

Farmer was a valuable reliever for the Reds in 2022, as he threw 47 innings while maintaining a 3.83 ERA and 1.30 WHIP. He was briefly sent to the minors after struggling in the first half but managed a 2.83 ERA across 35 frames from July 9 to the close of the campaign. Farmer will likely remain locked into a key role in the Cincinnati bullpen in 2023.

Lamet signed a one-year, $5 million contract with the Rockies on Wednesday.

Lamet was claimed off waivers by the Rockies in August after he was traded to the Brewers and designated for assignment, and he was able to avoid arbitration with his new team. The 30-year-old allowed 13 earned runs over 12.1 innings with San Diego prior to the trade but pitched better for Colorado with a 4.05 ERA across 20 frames.

Garcia was designated for assignment by the Giants on Tuesday.

Garcia made 58 appearances for San Francisco in each of the past two seasons and had a 3.16 ERA across 133.2 innings, but the club has opted not to carry him on the 40-man roster through the offseason. Despite the solid overall numbers, the veteran lefty took a step back in 2022 with a 4.26 FIP.

Beck was added to the Giants' 40-man roster Tuesday.

Beck opened 2022 at Double-A Richmond but quickly earned a promotion to Triple-A Sacramento, where he spent the rest of the season. The 26-year-old struggled after he was moved up a level with a 5.64 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 97:29 K:BB across 97.1 innings with the River Cats.

Vargas was acquired by the Diamondbacks from the Guardians on Tuesday in exchange for Ross Carver.

Vargas received his first call-up to the big leagues in mid-September, though he didn't make his debut while up with the Guardians. The 23-year-old will now head to Arizona, where he should have a clearer path to pitching in the majors.
