Doval earned the save during Sunday's 4-2 win against the Cubs, allowing one hit and hitting a batter in 1.1 scoreless innings. He failed to record a strikeout.

Doval was brought in with two on and two out in the eighth inning and was able to escape the jam before navigating around two baserunners in the ninth with the help of a double play. The 25-year-old flamethrower has now posted five straight scoreless outings and has allowed an earned run in only one of his last 15 appearances, lowering his ERA from 3.21 to 2.58 with the effective stretch. His 22 saves rank 13th in MLB.

Robertson struck out the side in a perfect inning to earn a save over the Phillies on Sunday.

After blowing a save in his last outing, Robertson bounced back with a dominant performance Sunday. He lowered his season ERA to 2.38 with a 75:28 K:BB while converting 19 of his 26 save chances. Seranthony Dominguez (triceps) returned from the injured list Sunday and pitched the eighth inning.

Dominguez struck out one batter in a scoreless inning and notched a hold against the Nationals on Sunday.

Dominguez was activated from the injured list Sunday and made his first appearance since Aug. 17. He recorded his 14th hold of the season while David Robertson secured his 19th save of the year. Dominguez had converted his last nine save chances prior to going on the injured list.

Jansen (5-2) took the loss and blew a save during Sunday's 6-5 defeat at the hands of the Mariners, allowing two runs on two hits in two-thirds of an inning.

Jansen's services were necessitated after Atlanta rallied for five runs in the top of the ninth, but he served up solo shots to Julio Rodriguez and Eugenio Suarez to suffer his third blown save and second loss in his last seven appearances. During that stretch, the 34-year-old has surrendered seven runs in 5.2 innings to increase his season ERA from 3.04 to 3.91. Despite a league-leading 33 saves, Jansen's seven blown saves are tied for second-most in MLB.

Helsley picked up the save Sunday in Pittsburgh, allowing a solo homer and striking out one in the ninth inning of a 4-3 win.

Helsley entered the game in the bottom of the ninth after the Cardinals had pieced together a four-run top half of the inning. After retiring the first two batters he faced on four pitches, he allowed a solo homer to Greg Allen before recording the final out. It was Helsley's second straight game in which he allowed a run and recorded a save. After posting a 0.61 ERA through his first 36 outings, the 28-year-old has come back to earth recently and has a 3.46 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and four homers allowed in his last 13 innings across 11 appearances.

Williams picked up the save in Sunday's 7-6 win over the Reds. He allowed two runs (one earned) on two hits and no walks while striking out two over one inning.

Williams entered in the ninth inning up by three runs and almost blew the save after allowing the first three batters to reach base. A leadoff double preceded an infield single and an error by Jace Peterson to score one run. Williams then struck out Kyle Farmer but surrendered a sacrifice fly off the bat of TJ Friedl to reduce the lead to one before striking out Jonathan India to end the game and earn the save. The Brewers' closer is now 6-for-7 in save opportunities since taking over the role after Josh Hader was traded Aug. 1.

The Padres have reinstated Scott (finger) from the 15-day injured list and designated him for assignment.

Scott's move off the 40-man roster clears a spot for fellow reliever Craig Stammen (shoulder), who was reinstated from the 60-day IL. Before he was shelved Aug. 15 with a right middle finger laceration, Scott turned in a 6.75 ERA and 2.08 WHIP across 12 innings with the big club. Scott had been in the midst of a rehab assignment at Triple-A El Paso and will likely stay with the affiliate if he clears waivers.

Nittoli was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Sunday, Corey Seidman of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

Nittoli made two scoreless appearances after being called up Sept. 1, but the Phillies decided to remove him from the roster to open up a spot for fellow reliever Seranthony Dominguez. Nittoli will garner consideration if the Phillies need to bring up a reliever before the season comes to a close.

Dominguez (triceps) was activated from the injured list Sunday, Corey Seidman of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

Dominguez was expected to be activated Sunday, and he is now officially back in the Phillies' bullpen. It's not clear if he will jump right back into the closer's role, but given his 0.90 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 13:3 K:BB since the All-Star break, it seems likely that will be the case.

Boxberger tossed a clean ninth inning in the Brewers' 5-1 victory over the Reds on Saturday.

With the Brewers up by four runs, manager Craig Counsell used Boxberger to close out Saturday's contest rather than going to closer Devin Williams in a non-save situation. Boxberger has been a bit shaky of late, but he retired all three batters he faced Saturday and secured the win for his club. Boxberger remains part of the Brewers' late-inning mix, but he is presumably behind all of Devin Williams, Taylor Rogers and Matt Bush in the pecking order for saves.
