Kilian will be called up from Triple-A Iowa to start Wednesday against the Padres, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Kilian made his big-league debut June 5 and allowed three runs across five innings, and he'll rejoin Chicago on Wednesday for his second outing. The right-hander may receive a longer look in the rotation this time around since the Cubs currently have veterans Marcus Stroman (shoulder), Wade Miley (shoulder) and Drew Smyly (oblique) on the injured list. The 25-year-old Kilian has made 10 starts at Triple-A this season and has a 2.51 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 47:16 K:BB over 43 innings.

Martin retired just two batters in relief and allowed three runs on three hits during Tuesday's loss to the Padres.

Chicago starter Kyle Hendricks allowed just one run across five innings, but then the bullpen gave up 11 runs in four innings. Martin was the first reliever to enter, and he saw his ERA climb from 3.71 to 5.09 with the rough outing. The veteran is a potential trade candidate given that he's on a one-year deal with the struggling Cubs, but he'll likely need to pitch better before the deadline to attract interest.

Kinley (elbow) will miss more time than the Rockies initially hoped, Nick Groke of The Athletic reports.

Kinley landed on the injured list with a right elbow ulnar nerve injury Sunday. While it initially looked as though he may not miss too much time, the Rockies are now somewhat more pessimistic. He's set to consult a surgeon this week, at which point his timeline should become clearer.

Gallegos gave up a hit and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning Tuesday to record his ninth save of the season in the first game of a doubleheader against the Pirates.

Ryan Helsley had picked up four saves since Gallegos' last successful conversion May 20, but Helsley got the call in the eighth inning in this one. The duo's late-inning usage will likely continue to depend on matchups and situations rather than the Cardinals having a clear divide between setup man and closer, but Gallegos didn't hurt his standing with a 2.00 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 14:4 K:BB over nine innings between his last two saves.

Holderman (shoulder) said Tuesday that he expects to return from the 15-day injured list when first eligible June 24 or shortly thereafter, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Holderman said he plans on resuming a throwing program in a few days after a recent MRI confirmed that he's dealing with a minor impingement of his right shoulder rather than a longer-term injury. Before landing on the IL, Holderman had emerged as a key piece out of the bullpen, accruing three wins while generating a 3.18 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 14:4 K:BB across 11.1 innings.

May (triceps) is throwing out to 75 feet and will have another scan before throwing to hitters, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports

He is working his way back from a stress reaction in the lower portion of his humerus and has been slowly ramping up. May had a scan in late May and will have another one in the coming days.

The Nationals transferred Harvey (forearm) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Tuesday.

Harvey had been on the shelf since April 21 with a right forearm strain and wasn't on track to return for at least another week, so the move to the 60-day IL won't affect his return timeline. The right-hander resumed throwing off a mound in late May and could soon be ready to begin a minor-league rehab assignment that will likely consist of several relief appearances.

The Nationals optioned Weems to Triple-A Rochester on Tuesday.

Weems appeared in six games out of the Washington bullpen following his May 31 call-up from Triple-A, covering 6.1 innings while giving up seven earned runs on eight hits and six walks. Francisco Perez was recalled from Rochester to replace Weems in the bullpen.

The Nationals recalled Perez from Triple-A Rochester on Tuesday.

The arrival of Perez gives the Nationals a fresh arm out of the bullpen after Washington needed five relievers to cover all nine innings of Monday's 9-5 loss to Atlanta when starter Josiah Gray was scratched leading up to the contest. Perez has previously covered 5.1 innings in his six appearances out of the Washington bullpen this season, giving up three earned runs on six hits and six walks while striking out four.

The Nationals selected Garrett's contract from Triple-A Rochester on Tuesday.

Garrett gets his first call to the big leagues since 2019, when he made 13 appearances out of Detroit's bullpen. He was rewarded with the promotion after turning in a 4.00 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 25:10 K:BB across 27 innings at Rochester. Garrett's initial usage will likely be limited to lower-leverage scenarios.
