The Brewers selected Kelley's contract from Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday.

To clear room for Kelley on the 40-man roster and 26-man active roster, the Brewers placed J.C. Mejia on the restricted list after he was handed an 80-game suspension Tuesday for violating MLB's Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. The right-handed Kelley last appeared in the majors in 2020, when he logged four appearances out of the Philadelphia bullpen. He was sharp over 13 innings with Nashville this season, posting an 0.69 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 17:14 K:BB.

Major League Baseball handed Mejia an 80-game suspension Tuesday for violating the Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

He becomes the second Brewers player to receive an 80-game suspension this season, joining catcher Pedro Severino, who was handed his ban in early April. The Brewers will place Mejia on the restricted list as a result of the suspension, a transaction that opens up a spot on the 40-man roster and 26-man active roster for right-hander Trevor Kelley, whose contract was selected from Triple-A Nashville. Mejia had made two appearances out of the bullpen since being promoted from the minors May 10, working 2.1 innings while giving up six earned runs. He'll be eligible for reinstatement from the suspension in mid-August.

The Rockies recalled Lawrence from Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday.

He'll join the 26-man active roster as a replacement for right-hander Antonio Senzatela (back), who was moved to the 15-day injured list. Lawrence will likely occupy a low-leverage role out of the bullpen while he's up with the Rockies for the second time this season.

Atlanta placed Matzek on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with left shoulder inflammation, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Just as manager Brian Snitker hinted would be the case following Monday's 1-0 loss to the Brewers, Matzek will hit the shelf while he contends with a shoulder issue that has dated back to his most recent relief appearance a week ago. Matzek is scheduled to leave the team's ongoing road trip to return to Atlanta for an MRI, which should verify whether or not he's dealing with something more significant than inflammation. Snitker mentioned that Spencer Strider could take on a more prominent role in the late-inning bridge to closer Kenley Jansen while Matzek is out of commission.

Atlanta recalled Davidson from Triple-A Gwinnett ahead of his scheduled start Tuesday in Milwaukee, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Reliever Tyler Matzek (shoulder) was placed on the 15-day injured list to clear a spot on the 26-man active roster for Davidson, who will be joining Atlanta for the second time this season. After making the big club out of spring training as the club's fifth starter, Davidson was pummeled for five earned runs over 2.2 innings when he was needed for a long-relief appearance April 11 against the Nationals. He was then optioned to Gwinnett, where he's proceeded to make regular starts while turning in a 4.44 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 34:9 K:BB across 26.1 innings. The defending champions will hope Davidson can bring some stability to the back end of the rotation, which has been a major trouble spot for Atlanta early in 2022.

The Dodgers transferred Treinen (shoulder) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day injured list Tuesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Considering Treinen hadn't been cleared to start a throwing program since being initially placed on the 10-day IL on April 22, the Dodgers' decision to move him to the 60-day IL doesn't come as a major surprise. As a result of the transaction, he won't be eligible to make his return until at least late June, and there's a strong chance he'll be sidelined through the All-Star break unless he's able to resume throwing in the next week or two. The move also frees up room on the 40-man roster for Mitch White (illness), who was reinstated from the COVID-19-related IL ahead of Tuesday's doubleheader with the Diamondbacks.

The Dodgers placed Kahnle on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with right forearm inflammation, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

The fact that Kahnle is being shut down with an arm-related injury is somewhat disconcerting after the right-hander opened the season on the IL while he advanced through the final stages of his recovery from his August 2020 Tommy John surgery. After being activated from the IL on May 1, Kahnle made four appearances out of the Dodgers' bullpen, giving up three earned runs on three hits and two walks while striking out five in four innings. The Dodgers will hope that at least two weeks of rest will resolve the inflammation in Kahnle's forearm, though it wouldn't be surprising if he were sent in for a precautionary MRI just to ensure he's not dealing with anything more severe.

The Dodgers recalled Bruihl from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

He'll step into the Los Angeles bullpen as a replacement for Caleb Ferguson, who was optioned to Triple-A after making a one-inning appearance in Monday's 5-4 win. Bruihl is up with the big club for the second time this season after he made the Dodgers' Opening Day roster and proceeded to give up four runs (three earned) over eight innings across his eight appearances before being sent to Oklahoma City on May 8.

The Dodgers activated White (illness) from the COVID-19-related injured list ahead of Tuesday's doubleheader with the Diamondbacks, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

White will be one of two Dodgers relievers set to return from the COVID-19 IL on Tuesday, as manager Dave Roberts noted earlier in the day that David Price (illness) will be reinstated in advance of the second game of the twin bill. The additions of White and Price will give the Dodgers two options capable of offering length out of the bullpen. White has been asked to record more than three outs in three of his four appearances this season, maxing out with a 3.2-inning appearance back on April 10 in Colorado.

The Dodgers optioned Ferguson to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

After a lengthy recovery from September 2020 Tommy John surgery, Ferguson rejoined the Dodgers on Monday and was pressed into action out of the bullpen in the team's 5-4 win over Arizona. Despite delivering a scoreless inning en route to capturing a hold, Ferguson will head back to the minors to continue to shake off the rust. Assuming Ferguson performs effectively with Oklahoma City, he could be in line for a quick return to the big-league roster.
