Webb was designated for assignment by Atlanta on Tuesday, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Webb failed to make the Opening Day roster and has now lost his spot on Atlanta's 40-man roster. The 28-year-old had a 1.39 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 28:12 K:BB over 32.1 innings during 2019, but he had a 4.19 ERA and 1.51 WHIP last year. Atlanta selected the contract of Jackson Stephens in a corresponding move.

Sims (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday.

Sims has been behind schedule since the start of camp after dealing with elbow and back issues over the winter, though the Reds never seemed to be concerned about any long-term absence. He looked like the favorite to close heading into spring training but was never officially named the closer, so his role upon his return is not yet clear. Tony Santillan and Art Warren have picked up the Reds' two saves so far this season.

Diaz was activated off the bereavement list Tuesday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

The Mets' bullpen struggled in Diaz's absence, with Trevor May (arm) and Seth Lugo combining to allow five runs in the eighth inning Monday against the Phillies, leading to a loss. Diaz should immediately reclaim the closer role upon his return.

Lamet has made one relief appearance across the Padres' first five games, retiring the lone batter he faced en route to earning a hold in San Diego's April 8 win over Arizona.

The Padres' decision to trade away starter Chris Paddack on Opening Day didn't change Lamet's outlook, as the 29-year-old is still beginning the season in a relief role. Lamet has thrown just one pitch so far this season, but Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune relayed that the right-hander threw at least a couple dozen of pitches while warming up in the bullpen in each of the last three contests. Manager Bob Melvin acknowledged after Monday's 4-2 win over the Giants that he needed to vary his reliever usage a bit, so it's possible that Lamet could gain some traction in a setup role in front of closer Taylor Rogers in the coming days.

Singer's contract was selected by the Phillies on Tuesday, Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Singer will give the Phillies an extra left-handed option in the bullpen, though the 28-year-old is unlikely to see any high-leverage innings. He's yet to make his major-league debut and recorded a mediocre 4.75 ERA in 53 innings of relief for Triple-A Lehigh Valley last season, striking out 28.2 percent of opposing batters but also walking 10.9 percent.

Davidson was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett on Monday.

Davidson was potentially in line to start Tuesday against the Nationals, but he wound up being needed out of the bullpen Monday and ended up allowing five runs in 2.2 innings of work. He was sent down to clear a spot for Bryce Elder, who will be the one to get Tuesday's start.

Thompson elected to appeal his three-game suspension Tuesday, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Thompson was handed a three-game ban Monday for intentionally hitting Andrew McCutchen with a pitch Saturday. The appeal means he'll remain available for now, but it's still likely he's forced to miss up to three games sometime soon. If a resolution for his appeal doesn't come before the weekend, Thompson could pick up a start in Colorado on Friday, when the Cubs will require a fifth member of the rotation for the first time this season.

Ferguson (elbow) continues to rehab and could be back with the Dodgers by late April or early May, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Ferguson underwent Tommy John surgery in September of 2020, and he was able to throw 2.2 innings during Cactus League play prior to the start of this season. The left-hander has yet to get into any minor-league contests, but that figures to be the final step before he returns to the big-league club. Ferguson was among the team's most effective relievers in 2020, when he logged a 2.89 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, 27:3 K:BB and five holds over 18.2 innings.

Diaz cleared waivers Tuesday and was outrighted to Triple-A Syracuse, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Diaz owns a 5.96 ERA and 21:16 K:BB in 25.2 career major-league innings, so it's no surprise to see him go unclaimed on waivers. He'll remain as organizational depth for now.

Davidson got tagged for five runs on five hits and two walks while striking out two over 2.2 innings of relief in Monday's 11-2 loss to the Nationals.

The southpaw was thought to be in line for Tuesday's start, but instead Davidson got used to mop up at the end of a bad loss Monday. Bryce Elder is now getting called up to take the mound Tuesday, and for the time being, Davidson may have missed his chance to show he can hold down a consistent spot in the rotation. If Elder struggles in his big-league debut, however, Davidson might be right back in the mix.
