Heuer (4-2) was tagged with the loss Saturday against the Marlins after allowing two unearned runs on two hits while fanning one across one inning.

Heuer pitched the eighth with the Cubs holding a one-run lead, but he was unable to maintain that advantage and ultimately gave up both the tying and winning runs -- though both runs came home thanks to a fielding error by Sergio Alcantara. The right-hander, who was acquired by the Cubs from the White Sox before the trade deadline, owns a 2.25 ERA through seven appearances (eight innings) with the Cubs.

Bender recorded the save Saturday against the Cubs after tossing a scoreless ninth inning, fanning two.

Bender had the task of closing things out with a one-run lead after the Marlins restored the lead in the bottom of the eighth, and he got the job done while needing just 13 pitches (seven strikes) to do so. The right-hander has gone 3-for-5 in save chances this season, and while he has given up runs in two of his last four appearances, it's worth noting he has allowed only two runs over his last 10 games.

The Phillies optioned Medina to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Sunday.

The Phillies brought back Chase Anderson (triceps) from the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move. Medina was up with the Phillies for only a day and didn't appear out of the bullpen in Saturday's 6-1 win over the Reds.

The Marlins activated Hernandez (quadriceps) from the 60-day injured list to start Sunday's game against the Cubs, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Though Miami never officially announced beforehand that Hernandez would return from the IL ahead of the series finale, things were pointing in that direction after he dazzled in his final rehab start for Triple-A Jacksonville on Wednesday, when he struck out 10 over five innings of one-run ball. Hernandez built up to 62 pitches in that outing, so he should be capable of giving the Marlins around 75-to-85 pitches in his first start with the big club since June 3. Though the right-hander has missed considerable time with injuries the past two seasons, he's been very effective in his eight MLB starts over that stretch, posting a 3.27 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 28.6 K-BB%.

Leone (2-2) allowed two earned runs on two hits and one walk while recording just one out, taking the loss to the Rockies on Saturday.

Leone entered the sixth inning in a tie game. He allowed the first three batters to reach base safely, leading to a pair of runs. He had nine scoreless innings over his last previous nine outings. The 29-year-old boasts a 1.76 ERA and 1.04 WHIP this season. In addition, he has a 9.4 K/9 over 30.2 innings.

Long allowed one earned run on two hits and one walk while striking out four across two innings in the loss to the Rockies on Saturday. He did not factor into the decision.

Long pitched only two innings before being relieved by Zack Littell. He allowed a solo home run to C.J. Cron in the second inning. The 25-year-old has just one appearance in which he didn't allow a run this season. His ERA is 5.72 with a 1.27 WHIP and 31 punchouts in 28.1 innings.

Bard fired a scoreless ninth inning on one hit while striking out two to earn the save in the win over the Giants on Saturday.

Bard struck out Wilmer Flores to end the game Saturday. He has converted four straight save opportunities and hasn't allowed a run over his last five appearances. On the season, he has a 4.05 ERA and 1.50 WHIP with 60 strikeouts in 46.2 innings. With his 19 saves, he is in the top 10 in the National League.

Gilbert (1-1) fired a no-hitter, earning the win over the Padres on Saturday. He struck out five and walked three.

Gilbert made his first career start in his fourth appearance this season. He was the first player to throw a no-hitter in his first MLB start since Bobo Holloman in 1953 for the St. Louis Browns, per AP News. He allowed just three walks, which happened to all be against Tommy Pham. The 27-year-old has yet to allow an earned run and has just two hits against him in 12.2 innings this season. His fantastic performance bodes well for his chances of sticking around in a starting role.

Moore (2-3) picked up the win Saturday, tossing six no-hit, scoreless innings while walking two and striking out eight in a 6-1 win over the Reds.

The veteran southpaw got the hook after 76 pitches (48 strikes) and handed things over to the Phillies' bullpen hoping for a combined no-hitter or at least a shutout, and predictably it couldn't get the job done as Archie Bradley served up a leadoff homer to Tyler Stephenson in the eighth inning. Both of Moore's wins on the season have come in August, as he got the victory Aug. 4 against the Nats after working four innings of long relief, but despite Saturday's outstanding effort, his 6.07 ERA on the season will likely bump him back to the bullpen once one of the Phillies' other rotation options gets healthy.

Wilson didn't factor into the decision in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Brewers, giving up four runs on seven hits over four innings in a 14-4 win. He struck out one without walking a batter.

Making his third start for the Pirates since being acquired from Atlanta, Wilson tossed 41 of 61 pitches for strikes but gave up plenty of hard contact (including two homers) and got the hook before he could benefit in the win column from Pittsburgh's offensive eruption. On the season, the right-hander sports a 4.82 ERA and 31:15 K:BB through 48.2 big-league innings.
