Hildenberger was optioned to the Mets' alternate training site Thursday.

Hildenberger struggled mightily in Wednesday's blowout loss to the Cubs, giving up four runs on two hits and three walks while striking out two in 1.1 innings. As a result, the right-hander will go to the alternate camp to sort things out, with fellow righty Sean Reid-Foley getting recalled in a corresponding move.

Williams struck out two and walked one in one inning of relief, earning a hold in Wednesday's 4-2 win over San Diego.

The reigning NL Rookie of the Year is beginning to resemble his 2020 self after allowing runs in three of his first four appearances this season. Featuring a mid-90s fastball as merely a complement to his signature, late-sinking changeup, Williams displayed his propensity to baffle the best of hitters Wednesday by embarrassing Fernando Tatis with three straight changeups. Despite his slow start, the righty figures to be an elite fantasy asset in leagues that count holds.

Hartlieb was recalled by the Pirates on Thursday.

The Pirates need another pitcher with Chad Kuhl (shoulder) landing on the injured list. Hartlieb won't be taking Kuhl's rotation spot, as he hasn't started a single game as a professional. In 50 appearances at the major-league level, he's struggled to a 6.91 ERA and 1.83 WHIP.

Rainey struck out the side and gave up one hit in a scoreless seventh inning during Wednesday's win over the Cardinals, recording his third hold of the season.

The right-hander has had a shaky start to the season with an 8.53 ERA and 1.74 WHIP through 6.1 innings, but Rainey appeared to regain his 2020 form Wednesday, as he fanned Matt Carpenter, Justin Williams and Austin Dean, all on sliders. Rainey is still a key setup arm for the Nats for now, but if he can't find some consistency, he could be bumped down to lower-leverage spots once the rest of the bullpen gets healthier.

Weathers will start Thursday's series opener against the Dodgers in Los Angeles, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Manager Jayce Tingler previously said that Weathers would receive his second start of the season this week as part of a temporary six-man rotation for the Padres, but the young lefty could have the opportunity to stick around as a full-time starter if he delivers a quality outing Thursday. Though San Diego brought back Dinelson Lamet from the injured list to start Wednesday, he pitched just two innings in the Padres' loss to the Brewers before exiting with right forearm tightness. A return to the IL is almost certainly on tap for Lamet, and with Adrian Morejon (elbow) undergoing Tommy John surgery earlier this week, Weathers should be in good position to hold down a starting job if the Padres decide to shorten their rotation to five men.

Bukauskas (1-0) was the winning pitcher when the Diamondbacks beat the Reds on Wednesday in the completion of a game that was suspended Tuesday. He retired the lone batter he faced.

Bukauskas was the pitcher of record when the Diamondbacks plated two runs in the top of the eighth inning to take a 5-4 lead, at which point Tuesday's game was suspended. Kevin Ginkel and Stefan Crichton pitched scoreless eighth and ninth innings, respectively, to give Bukauskas the win in his MLB debut. He pitched well enough in spring training to earn a roster spot but was held back. However, with Joakim Soria (calf) nearing a return, Bukauskas could end up back at the alternate camp.

Lamet (forearm) will undergo an MRI after leaving Wednesday's start against the Brewers, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

It's not a surprising development after the right-hander's season debut Wednesday was cut short due to forearm tightness. Lamet originally suffered an elbow strain back in September, but he never underwent surgery and instead opted for the recovery route during the offseason. He threw 29 pitches and had four strikeouts over two innings before being lifted from his season debut versus Milwaukee. The 28-year-old should be considered out indefinitely for the time being, while Ryan Weathers is likely to remain in the starting rotation for San Diego.

Doval allowed a run on a hit and a walk with two strikeouts in one inning during Wednesday's 6-5 loss to the Phillies. He was charged with a blown save.

Doval gave up a game-tying solo shot to Bryce Harper in the seventh inning. The 23-year-old Doval has four strikeouts and two holds in three outings. He's allowed two hits, a walk and a run. The right-hander will likely see most of his work in the middle innings as he adjusts to the major-league level.

Peralta (2-1) allowed a run on two hits and a walk with one strikeout in one-third of an inning in Wednesday's loss to the Phillies.

Peralta entered the game in the ninth inning with the score tied 5-5, and he worked into a jam. Andrew Knapp hit a walkoff single to leave Peralta with the loss. The 29-year-old southpaw has a 4.91 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and 7:3 K:BB across 7.1 innings this season. He's also picked up two saves and a blown save, but he's not expected to get much late-inning work with Jake McGee locked in as the Giants' closer.

Hand walked one in a scoreless ninth inning Wednesday to record his third save of the season in a 1-0 win over the Cardinals.

The southpaw battled his control, throwing only seven of 15 pitches for strikes, but he was able to get the job done and preserve the combined shutout for the Nats. Hand has yet to allow a run through six appearances this season, posting a 5:2 K:BB through six innings and earning one win in addition to his three saves.
