Martin exited Sunday's game against the Red Sox in the top of the seventh inning with right groin discomfort.

Martin threw four pitches to begin the seventh inning, but he signaled to trainers in the middle of an at-bat and was removed from the game. It's unclear whether the injury will impact his availability for the start of the postseason.

The Braves optioned Davidson to their alternate training site Sunday.

Davidson had the chance to stake his claim to a spot on the Braves' playoff roster with a strong showing in his MLB debut Saturday against the Red Sox, but he squandered the opportunity by surrendering seven runs (two earned) while recording just five outs. The Braves selected third baseman Pablo Sandoval's contract from the alternate site to fill Davidson's spot on the 28-man active roster.

The Cardinals announced that Hudson (forearm) will undergo Tommy John surgery Monday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Hudson was shut down for the season after experiencing forearm tightness in his Sept. 17 start, but the 26-year-old was hopeful he could treat the injury through rest and rehab. After receiving a couple medical opinions, however, Hudson determined that surgery was his best course of action. While general manager John Mozeliak wasn't willing to rule Hudson out for the 2021 season, the typical recovery timeline from the procedure for most starting pitchers usually lasts at least 12 months. With that in mind, Hudson likely won't be a serious candidate to rejoin the St. Louis rotation until spring training in 2022.

Gonzalez will serve as the Dodgers' opening pitcher in Sunday's regular-season finale against the Angels, Alanna Rizzo of Spectrum SportsNet LA reports.

Though he'll be making his first big-league "start," Gonzalez shouldn't be counted on to handle much more than two innings or 32 pitches, the longest he's worked in any of his prior 14 relief appearances this season. Dustin May is expected to serve as the Dodgers' bulk reliever and is the likeliest pitcher to factor into any decision.

Morejon is listed as the Padres' starter for Sunday's game against the Giants.

The lefty will make his ninth appearance (fourth start) in San Diego's regular-season finale with Mike Clevinger (biceps) injured and Garrett Richards shifted to the bullpen. Morejon has not pitched more than three innings in an appearance this season. He should make the postseason roster in a long-relief role after turning in a 4.86 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 21:4 K:BB in his first 16.2 innings of 2020.

Kolarek earned the save Saturday against the Angels after pitching a scoreless two-thirds of an inning. He allowed one hit.

Kolarek entered the game after a two-run double from David Fletcher with one out in the ninth, and he got the job done. Despite allowing a single to Jared Walsh, Kolarek shut the door by retiring Albert Pujols and Shohei Ohtani to earn his first save of the season. Kolarek has been outstanding out of the bullpen this year and has a 0.95 ERA with a 0.79 WHIP -- both career-best marks -- in 19 innings across 20 appearances.

Hader struck out one across a scoreless ninth inning Saturday as he picked up the save against the Cardinals.

Hader had to work hard for his three outs as he needed 21 pitches to get through the ninth but ultimately had no trouble getting his 13th save of the season to pace the National League. Hader's numbers have dipped a bit in 2020 in comparison to recent seasons, but the southpaw still has done very well with a 3.79 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 31:10 K:BB across 19 innings.

Hudson walked one and struck out one in a scoreless seventh inning to record his 10th save of the season during the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Mets.

The right-hander hadn't pitched since Tuesday and had blown his last two save chances, but Hudson was up to the task in Saturday's nightcap, His 6.10 ERA on the season has been fueled by six homers allowed in 20.2 innings, but otherwise Hudson's 1.26 WHIP and 28:11 K:BB have been solid. With one year left on his current contract, the 33-year-old will likely be back in a high-leverage role for the Nats in 2021.

Davidson (0-1) allowed seven runs (two earned) on three hits and four walks with two strikeouts over 1.2 innings in a loss to the Red Sox on Saturday.

Davidson got through the first inning without much trouble, but he was hit hard in the second. An error by Adeiny Hechavarria didn't help Davidson, and reliever Grant Dayton gave up a grand slam to Christian Vazquez two pitches into his outing. It was hardly an ideal first major-league start for the 24-year-old Davidson, who pitched to a 2.03 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP with 122 strikeouts in 110.2 innings as a starter at Double-A Mississippi in 2019.

Gsellman (ribs) was transferred to the 45-day injured list after Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Nationals, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

The 27-year-old landed on the shelf with a fractured rib in early September and wasn't expected to return this year, so it's just a procedural move to create some space on the 40-man roster. Gsellman finished 2020 with a 9.64 ERA, 2.14 WHIP and 9:8 K:BB over 14 innings across six outings (four starts).
