Lamet (biceps) will play light catch Saturday, and manager Jayce Tingler remains optimistic that he'll be able to pitch in San Diego's first postseason game, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.

Lamet reportedly felt slightly better Saturday than he normally does the day after a start. Assuming his throwing session Saturday goes well, the right-hander could throw a bullpen sometime in the next two days. The team didn't feel as though he needed an MRI after leaving Friday's contest with tightness in his bicep. Tingler said that Lamet still has "a long ways to go" before he's cleared to pitch in Game 1, but early reports regarding his status are encouraging.

Garcia was recalled by the Giants on Saturday.

Garcia will be available out of the bullpen for the final two games of the regular season after Sam Coonrod (shoulder) was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday. The right-hander tossed two scoreless innings during a pair of appearances during his last stint on the active roster.

Coonrod was experiencing shoulder discomfort when he came out of Friday's game, and he won't be available for at least 10 days as a result. It's unclear whether he could be available if the Giants make a run in the playoffs. Right-hander Rico Garcia was recalled to take his place in the bullpen.

Ponce de Leon was returned to the Cardinals' taxi squad Saturday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Ponce de Leon recorded his first win of the season during his start in Game 2 of Friday's doubleheader against the Brewers, but he'll return to the taxi squad with two games remaining in the regular season. It's unclear if the right-hander will be utilized in any capacity if the Cardinals qualify for the playoffs.

Feyereisen was returned to the Brewers' alternate training site Saturday.

Feyereisen served as the 29th man in Friday's doubleheader against the Cardinals and tossed one clean inning during the twin bill. The right-hander posted a 5.79 ERA and 0.96 WHIP over 9.1 innings during his first taste of major-league action this year.

Pomeranz was tagged with a blown save in Game 2 of Friday's doubleheader against the Giants, giving up three runs on two hits and two walks while retiring two batters (both by strikeout).

Pomeranz entered the contest having held opponents scoreless over 18 innings through 19 appearances, but his remarkable run came to an end when Wilmer Flores crushed a three-run homer after Pomeranz allowed a single and a walk with two outs in the sixth inning. Though the blast gave San Francisco a two-run lead, Pomeranz was able to escape without taking the loss when Trent Grisham blasted a three-run walkoff homer in the following frame. Despite the rough outing, Pomeranz still owns a 1.45 ERA and 1.02 WHIP this season.

Wilson is scheduled to start Sunday's regular-season finale against the Red Sox, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

Wilson made his first start of 2020 earlier this week against the Marlins and gave an injury-plagued Atlanta rotation a much-needed shot in the arm, covering five scoreless frames while striking out seven. On the back of that performance, Wilson will unsurprisingly earn another start, and how he fares Sunday could dictate whether he's included on the postseason roster. Atlanta will likely attempt to get by with a three- or four-man rotation during the playoffs, leaving Wilson and fellow youngsters Kyle Wright and Tucker Davidson to battle for starting roles behind Max Fried and Ian Anderson.

Manager Jayce Tingler said Friday that Lamet is dealing with tightness in his bicep, but he's optimistic that he'll be able to make his next start, Bob Scanlan of FOX Sports San Diego reports.

Tingler said that Lamet will throw a bullpen prior to the postseason, and he was hopeful that he'd be able to return to the mound for the wild-card round. More clarity on his status should come after his bullpen, but Tingler's optimism surrounding the issue is encouraging.

Ponce de Leon (1-3) struck out six and picked up the win in the second game of Friday's doubleheader against the Brewers, allowing one run on one hit and two walks over six innings in a 9-1 rout by the Cardinals.

The right-hander appeared headed for a seven-inning no-hitter before Orlando Arcia led off the bottom of the sixth with a solo shot. Ponce de Leon finished his evening having thrown 99 pitches (60 strikes), and his strong work in September -- 3.15 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 28:6 K:BB in 20 innings over four starts -- may have been enough to secure a job in the rotation during the playoffs, should the Cards hold onto their spot over the final games of the regular season.

Hader gave up a hit and struck out two in a scoreless seventh inning to record his 12th save of the season in a 3-0 win over the Cardinals in the first game of Friday's doubleheader.

While his control and ability to keep the ball in the park have occasionally wavered this season, leading to a 4.00 ERA in a small sample, Hader has otherwise been his usual dominant self in 2020. The southpaw sports a 1.00 WHIP and 30:10 K:BB over 18 innings and blown just two of his 14 save chances.
