Hernandez exited Tuesday's start in Atlanta with a right middle finger blister, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Hernandez pitched well prior to being removed due to the blister, allowing one run on three hits with five strikeouts and one walk through four innings. The 24-year-old's availability for his next start -- Sunday against the Phillies -- should come into focus over the next couple days.

Guerra was moved up to Double-A Amarillo on Tuesday, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Guerra was converted to pitching at the start of the season and has flashed enough potential on the mound to warrant the promotion. In 17 relief outings with High-A Lake Elsinore this season, he compiled a 3.71 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 23:5 K:BB while limiting batters to a .213 average in 17 innings.

Clarke will move back to the bullpen following his spot start last weekend, Jody Jackson of FOX Sports Arizona reports.

Clarke didn't fare well in his start against the Giants, surrendering five runs (three earned) on five hits and a walk over 1.2 innings of work, so he'll transition to a long-relief role. The Diamondbacks have yet to announce who will take Robbie Ray's (back) next turn in the starting rotation, though perhaps another starter won't be needed if Ray gets clearance to return next week.

Floro was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

Floro has a 4.00 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 30 strikeouts in 36 MLB innings this season. He will work in a low-to-mid-leverage relief role.

Avila (elbow) is expected to undergo Tommy John surgery within the next few weeks, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

After wrapping up his rehab program for a strained right elbow in the rookie-level Arizona League, Avila slotted back into Double-A Amarillo's rotation last week and aggravated the injury in his first outing with the affiliate since April. The Padres' initial exams on Avila's elbow apparently detected structural damage, so he'll soon go under the knife to address the injury. Due to the timing of the procedure, the 22-year-old will likely remain on the shelf through the start of spring training in 2021.

Gsellman is likely done for the year after being diagnosed with a partially torn right triceps, Matt Ehalt of Yahoo Sports reports.

He was originally diagnosed with right triceps tightness, but it turns out the issue was more severe than that. Gsellman should be able to be ready for spring training, assuming he avoids surgery.

Webb (elbow) has been shut down from throwing, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Webb was placed on the 60-day injured list Monday due to a right elbow impingement, so this news is unsurprising, considering his season is likely over. He'll need to be re-evaluated to determine the next step in his recovery process.

Manager Bud Black said Monday that he's not ready to anoint a new closer, but he made it clear that Estevez and Jairo Diaz will be given chances to close out games over the remainder of the season, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.

Wade Davis squandered a lead in the ninth inning Sunday after Scott Oberg (blood clot) was placed on the IL earlier that day, and it doesn't sound like Black will be turning back to Davis as his closer. Both Estevez and Diaz throw heat, averaging over 97 mph on their fastballs. Estevez's season-long ERA is significantly better than Diaz's, but the estimators are pretty similar and Diaz has been on an excellent run of late (2.16 ERA, 1.08 WHIP in his last seven outings), so it's not clear who will have the edge between the two.

Hudson (12-6) issued four walks over 6.2 scoreless frames Monday, striking out seven and earning the win over Milwaukee.

Hudson exited the game after throwing 111 pitches (64 strikes) despite working on a no-hitter. With two outs in the eighth, Giovanny Gallegos allowed a double to Yasmani Grandal, ending the team's no-hit bid. Hudson's ERA has dropped from 4.01 to 3.63 in his last two outings; he's combined for 12.2 scoreless innings during that span. Still, his 104:63 K:BB is a bit of a long-term concern. The 6-foot-5 rookie will look for his third straight win Saturday as St. Louis will host the Rockies.

Yates gave up one run on three hits and no walks while striking out one to record his 36th save in a 3-2 win over the Reds on Monday.

Yates made it interesting, allowing four baserunners before working his way out of trouble to pick up his 36th save. Yates recorded his third save in three days. The 32-year-old has a 1.24 ERA and 82 strikeouts through 51 innings this season.
