Clarke (4-3) earned the win Tuesday against the Yankees after giving up one unearned run on three hits over 5.1 innings. He struck out six and walked two.

Clarke's outing was limited by a high pitch count that saw him throw only 54 of his 95 pitches for strikes, but he was able to keep New York off balance and surrendered only one extra-base hit. The 26-year-old has won two straight starts, allowing three runs (two earned) across 11.1 innings. Clarke should have a matchup with the Phillies early next week.

Beede (3-5) took the loss Tuesday at Philadelphia after allowing four runs on 10 hits across five innings. He struck out four and walked two.

Beede kept the Phillies off the board through the first three frames, but he gave up two runs in each of the fourth and fifth innings to sink the outing. It's the second consecutive start the 26-year-old has surrendered four runs on 10 hits. Beede has a 5.01 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 66:32 K:BB through 70 innings and has an unfavorable matchup Sunday at Colorado.

Martin (back) was traded to the Braves from the Rangers in exchange for minor-league pitcher Kolby Allard, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.

Martin hasn't pitched since Friday due to a bout of back stiffness, but he'll nonetheless head to the Braves for the final two months of the season. The 33-year-old has a 3.08 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 43:4 K:BB over 38 innings for the Rangers this season, and he went 4-for-5 in save chances and recorded 12 holds. Luke Jackson has been working as the closer for the Braves, though he doesn't appear to have a firm hold on the position. Martin seems likely to start out in a high-leverage role with his new team, but save chances may be infrequent, at best.

Strahm (4-8) gave up five runs on five hits and one walk in 1.2 innings to take the loss against Baltimore Tuesday. He struck out four.

Strahm was brought in to protect a 5-3 lead, but didn't have it today. The left-hander had allowed just one run in his first 8.1 innings since joining San Diego's bullpen. However, the 27-year-old gave up two runs in the seventh on a Renato Nunez RBI single, then three more in the eighth on a Chris Davis solo homer and a Trey Mancini two-run single. Strahm now holds an 5.42 ERA and 1.29 WHIP with a 92:19 K:BB across 89.2 innings of starting and relief duty.

Lamet gave up three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five through five innings in a no-decision against the Orioles on Tuesday.

Lamet sailed through the first three innings, but labored in the fourth as the Orioles reached him for three runs on two hits and three walks. He bounced back to register a scoreless fifth inning before departing after throwing a season high 88 pitches. The 27-year-old has a 5.09 ERA with a 1.39 WHIP and a 30:9 K:BB in 23 innings this season. Lamet is displaying strikeout upside, but he still struggles with command and hasn't pitched more than five innings since returning from Tommy John surgery. Lamet will make his next start next Tuesday on the road in Seattle.

Suter (elbow) pitched a scoreless inning Monday for the Arizona League Brewers Blue team, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

This is an impressive achievement for Suter, who underwent Tommy John surgery nearly a year ago to the day. He figures to continue to pitch in the Arizona League for some time, as he'll need to build back up to a starting role. Despite his recent progress, Suter is unlikely to pitch in 2019.

Sborz was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday.

Sborz didn't fare well in Monday night's outing, surrendering three runs on four hits and a walk while striking out one over two innings of work. As a result, he'll return to the minor leagues. Tony Gonsolin was recalled in a corresponding move.

Underwood was recalled from Triple-A Iowa prior to Tuesday's game against the Cardinals, Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Underwood's lone big-league appearance dates back to the 2018 campaign, allowing one run on two hits and three walks while fanning three over four innings. The Cubs placed Pedro Strop (neck) on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move.

Strop was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday due to left neck tightness, retroactive to Saturday Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

This move by the Cubs was expected, though it remains to be seen how long Strop will need to return to health. He'll be eligible to be reinstated beginning Aug. 6. Duane Underwood was recalled from Triple-A Iowa in a corresponding move.

Strop is expected to be placed on the 10-day injured list prior to Tuesday's game against the Cardinals, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

It's unclear as to what kind of injury Strop is dealing with, but his fastball velocity has been noticeably down all season, especially in recent weeks, per Bastian. The club has yet to make the move official.
