Hernandez (shoulder) will likely be reinstated from the 10-day injured list Wednesday, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Hernandez was sent to the shelf July 18 due to right shoulder fatigue, but he progressed to throwing live batting practice Sunday and is expected to rejoin the team Wednesday if all goes according to plan. The right-hander hasn't lived up to expectations so far this season, accruing a 6.92 ERA and 1.56 WHIP with a 50:16 K:BB over 39 innings.

Hartlieb was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis prior to Tuesday's game against Cincinnati, Rob Biertempfel of The Athletic reports.

Hartlieb has been knocked around in the majors this season, accruing an 8.10 ERA and 1.90 WHIP with 20 strikeouts over 20 innings, but he'll get another chance with the big-league club following Tuesday's roster moves.

Strahm has allowed one run while posting an 11:1 K:BB in 8.1 innings over his six appearances since joining San Diego's bullpen.

The lone run Strahm allowed came via the long ball, which proved to be a major hindrance to his success during his time in the rotation earlier this season. Strahm's home-run problems should generally be a lesser concern while he works out of the bullpen, as the shorter spurts won't force him to be as reliant on his fastball, which has been his weakest offering by far this season in terms of pitch value. The Padres haven't made major use of Strahm in higher-leverage spots yet, but he could gain more prominence the bullpen if the team parts ways with Kirby Yates or Craig Stammen prior to Wednesday's deadline.

Castillo (forearm) resumed a minor-league rehab assignment last week and has made two appearances, working two innings and giving up an earned run on two hits while striking out five.

Castillo has been on the shelf since late February with a left forearm flexor strain. He initially seemed to be trending toward a late-June return from the 60-day injured list, but a potential reinstatement was put on hold after he experienced renewed soreness in his forearm. After just over a month-long shutdown period, Castillo is apparently feeling healthy again and could be on track to join the Padres at some point in August if he steers clear of any further setbacks. Castillo is currently pitching with the Padres' High-A affiliate in Lake Elsinore, but he should shift his assignment to Triple-A El Paso within the next week or so.

Munoz worked around two hits to cover 1.2 scoreless innings in Monday's 8-1 win over the Orioles. He struck out two in the 22-pitch appearance.

Though he's only been up with the Padres for just over two weeks, Munoz has quickly gained a foothold in the team's late-inning mix. Through his first six appearances, Munoz has yet to yield a run and has allowed only five baserunners while striking out 10 over eight frames. Blessed with an 80-grade fastball that touches triple digits, the 20-year-old boasts the power arm teams place a high premium on at the back of bullpens. He could find himself in the mix for saves if the Padres elect to deal All-Star closer Kirby Yates prior to Wednesday's deadline.

Reyes (pectoral) is scheduled to throw off the mound early next week, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Reyes has been sidelined since exiting a June 23 start for Triple-A Memphis with pectoral discomfort, and the injury has been serious enough to put him out of action for over a month. The right-hander began doing rehab work in mid-July at the Cardinals' spring training facility in Jupiter, Florida, and Rogers reports there's still a chance he makes it to the big-league level in September as a reliever. However, Reyes will presumably need a multi-appearance rehab assignment prior to that even being a realistic scenario.

Floro (neck) threw a bullpen session Monday and should be activated from the 10-day injured list Wednesday, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

Floro has been on the shelf since July 19 due to neck inflammation, though he's now been able to toss a simulated game and a bullpen session. He's already with the team, but skipper Dave Roberts stated that Floro won't be activated from the injured list until Wednesday.

Sborz was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Monday, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

Sborz has spent most of the season with Oklahoma City, compiling a 4.54 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 51:9 K:BB in 37.2 innings there. The righty made one appearance for the big club earlier in the season, allowing three runs on two hits and a walk in one inning before landing on the injured list afterwards. He'll replace Jaime Schultz -- who was sent to the minors on Monday -- on the active roster.

Diplan was designated for assignment by the Brewers on Monday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for Jordan Lyles, acquired in a trade from the Pirates in a corresponding move. Diplan is considered at least a fringe prospect, with a good fastball and changeup but shaky command, but he hasn't fared well in parts of two seasons with Double-A Biloxi, recording a 4.79 ERA and a 14.2 percent walk rate in 114.2 innings.

General manager John Mozeliak said Monday that Michael Wacha would replace Ponce de Leon in the rotation the next time the Cardinals require a fifth starter, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

The Cardinals' decision doesn't come as a surprise after Ponce de Leon once again struggled with his control in Saturday's 8-2 loss to the Astros. Before giving way to Wacha in long relief in that start, Ponce de Leon gave up five runs on three hits and four walks over 2.1 innings, marking the third straight outing in which the 27-year-old failed to reach the fifth inning. Mozeliak didn't specify whether Ponce de Leon would stick with the Cardinals and work out of the bullpen or report back to Triple-A Memphis to continue making regular starts.
