Lambert (2-2) allowed three runs on nine hits with one walk and eight strikeouts across 5.1 innings while taking a loss against the Nationals on Tuesday.

While Lambert did fail to record a quality start, he did work around nine hits to keep the Rockies in the game through six frames. The Rockies, however, couldn't score against Stephen Strasburg, and the Colorado bullpen allowed the contest to turn into a blowout. Giving up a lot of hits isn't anything new for Lambert, who's yielded a .308 batting average against. Although the eight strikeouts were his most since his season debut June 6, Lambert still owns a 5.93 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 31 strikeouts in 41 innings this season. He will pitch next at the Reds on Sunday.

Diaz gave up one hit and zero earned runs during the ninth inning to notch the save Tuesday versus the Padres. He did not have a strikeout or a walk.

Diaz wasn't needed to start the frame with the Mets leading 5-1, but after two walks to begin the inning it became a save situation and he entered to close out the contest. The 25-year-old is 22-for-26 in save opportunities and has a 4.81 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 61:13 K:BB through 39.1 innings.

Collins had his contract selected from Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Collins was designated for assignment by the Cubs in mid-June, but he'll return to the big leagues as bullpen depth. He owns a 3.52 ERA and 1.57 WHIP with four strikeouts over 7.2 innings with Chicago this season.

Strop was the pitcher of record in Monday's 5-4 loss to the Giants after giving up three runs on four hits over his lone inning of relief.

Tasked with protecting a 4-2 lead entering the eighth inning, Strop couldn't get the job done. He retired two of the first four batters and nearly escaped the inning with the Cubs still up a run, but he surrendered back-to-back run-scoring doubles to squander his team's advantage. Strop's fantasy value already cratered once Craig Kimbrel made his debut in late June, and now the veteran right-hander is looking like an untrustworthy commodity in leagues that count holds as a category, too. Strop has blown leads in three of his last six outings, which could prompt manager Joe Maddon to go in another direction the next time a setup chance arises.

Pomeranz fired two clean innings while striking out four in Monday's 5-4 win over the Cubs.

Pomeranz did not allow a base runner and played a big role in allowing the Giants to make a late comeback. The 30-year-old was moved to the bullpen in favor of rookie starter Conner Menez (who pitched well Sunday before being sent back to the minors). The club doesn't require a fifth rotation arm until the first week of August, but Pomeranz's struggles as a starter (6.10 ERA) this season may keep him in the bullpen when that time arrives.

Voth (biceps) is headed for an MRI, Byron Kerr of MASN Sports reports.

Voth didn't feel quite right following Monday's throwing session, so he'll head for further imaging to uncover the extent of his biceps injury.

Almonte was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday.

Almonte will head back to the minor leagues despite posting a 4.02 ERA and 1.28 WHIP with nine strikeouts over 15.2 innings this season with the Rockies. Yonder Alonso was selected from Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Mayers (lat) was activated from the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

Mayers has been on the shelf since mid-April due to a right lat strain, but after completing his rehab stint at Triple-A Memphis, he's ready to return to the big-league bullpen. He's appeared in eight games this season for St. Louis, posting a 5.40 ERA with eight punchouts over 8.1 innings of work. Chasen Shreve was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

Brebbia, who fired a scoreless two-thirds of an inning in an extra-inning win over the Pirates on Monday, has a 2-0 record, one hold, a 2.00 ERA and a 17:2 K:BB across nine innings in July (seven appearances).

Following a disastrous month of June during which Brebbia was touched up for 12 runs (10 earned) over 10.1 innings in 11 appearances, the right-hander has turned things around significantly. Brebbia has had only one stumble since the calendar flipped, yielding two earned runs over two-thirds of an inning to the Diamondbacks on July 14. Otherwise, he's only allowed Monday's hit and a walk across the other 8.2 frames he's worked during the month.

Gott (7-0) was the pitcher of record in Monday's 5-4 win over the Cubs. He gave up a run on two hits and struck out one over an inning of relief.

It's the second win in as many relief appearances for Gott, who has benefited from some timely run support from the Giants throughout the season. Though Gott has created some of his own good luck thanks to a 0.98 WHIP and 46:12 K:BB across his 42 innings, he'll largely remain off the radar outside of deep mixed leagues and NL-only formats while regularly working in middle relief for San Francisco. He could eventually capture a more prominent role if the Giants elect to deal multiple relievers ahead of the July 31 trade deadline.
