Cabrera signed a major-league contract with the Cubs on Tuesday, Andy Martinez of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Cabrera elected free agency Tuesday after being DFA'd by the Mets on Saturday, and he'll now attempt to carve out a role for himself in the Cubs' bullpen. The 28-year-old southpaw gave up three earned runs in 7.2 innings with the Mets but owned a 7.88 ERA through eight innings with their Triple-A affiliate.

The Rockies reinstated Vodnik (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list Tuesday.

The right-hander had been sidelined by shoulder inflammation for more than a month, but he's back on the active roster after a two-outing rehab assignment with Double-A Hartford. Vodnik recorded one save with a 4.50 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 8:6 K:BB across eight innings prior to the injury and should be in the high-leverage mix for Colorado. However, Zach Agnos and Seth Halvorsen appear to be the current favorites for save opportunities.

Thielbar, who retired two batters in Monday's 3-1 win over the Rockies without allowing a run to record a hold, now has a 2.37 ERA and 1.00 WHIP through 22 appearances this season.

Thielbar has pitched well in his first year with the Cubs, and he's now gone eight straight appearances without allowing a run. The veteran lefty struggled last season in Minnesota, posting a 5.32 ERA and 1.56 WHIP across 59 games, but his 2025 figures are closer to his career marks of a 3.32 ERA and 1.18 WHIP. Thielbar should remain a key member of Chicago's bullpen, particularly due to his success against left-handed hitters. Batters from the same side are only hitting .071 against Thielbar this year.

Morgan retired both batters he faced in Monday's victory versus Miami.

Morgan was called up from Triple-A El Paso on Sunday and made his major-league debut one day later. The 25-year-old right-hander entered in the eighth inning and needed just six pitches (four of which were strikes) to retire the two batters he faced. Morgan has posted a 6.91 ERA while allowing five homers over 14.1 frames across two minor-league levels this season, but his impressive 30:2 K:BB is likely what led to San Diego's decision to bring him up, at least temporarily, to provide some support for the big club's bullpen.

Hall (1-0) picked up a win while working 2.1 innings of relief in Monday's 3-2 victory over the Red Sox, allowing one earned run on two hits and two walks while striking out one.

Fresh off being activated from the 60-day injured list Monday after missing the first two months of the season due to a left lat strain, Hall was quickly thrust into action. With starter Chad Patrick getting lifted from the game with two outs and a runner on second base in the top of the fifth, Hall came out of the bullpen to record the final out of the frame and then covered the next two innings before walking the lone batter he faced in the eighth. The Milwaukee bullpen was able to preserve the lead for the rest of the game, allowing Hall to come away with the win in his season debut. Hall had gotten stretched out to three innings during his rehab assignment and could be a candidate to make a start or bulk-relief appearance this weekend in Philadelphia, but the Brewers haven't confirmed their plans for the young southpaw.

Diaz (2-0) picked up the win Monday over the White Sox, walking one and striking out one in a scoreless ninth inning.

The Mets' closer worked the top of the ninth with the score tied 1-1 and a save chance off the table, and he was rewarded when Francisco Lindor lofted a walk-off sacrifice fly in the bottom of the frame. It was Diaz's 12th straight appearance without allowing an earned run, a stretch in which he's collected a win and five saves with a 16:5 K:BB in 12.2 innings. The month-long hot streak has shaved his ratios on the season down to a 2.42 ERA and 0.99 WHIP, numbers right in line with Diaz's career performance.

Gibson (0-2) took the loss Monday against the Padres, recording one out and allowing an unearned run on one walk.

The rookie southpaw entered the game for the bottom of the 11th inning with the score tied 3-3, and after getting a groundball out from Gavin Sheets that advanced the phantom runner to third, Gibson uncorked a wild pitch that ended the night. While he does have a 0.71 ERA through his first 12.2 big-league innings, Gibson's benefitted from two unearned runs on his ledger, and his 7:4 K:BB is far less impressive. He should continue to work primarily in low-leverage spots, although as the only healthy lefty in the Miami bullpen, he could see occasional setup duty if he can earn the trust of manager Clayton McCullough.

Tinoco gave up one hit in 1.1 scoreless innings to record his fourth hold of the season during Monday's extra-innings loss to the Padres.

While it was an effective performance that saw Tinoco fire 13 of 17 pitches for strikes, the right-hander was a long way from closing duties as he entered the game to get the final out of the sixth inning. Tinoco has blown two of his last four saves chances while staggering to an 8.68 ERA in 9.1 innings over his last 10 appearances, and Ronny Henriquez -- who picked up his first career save Sunday -- appears to have emerged as the Marlins' top high-leverage arm.

Cronin (hip) is set to make rehab appearances with Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday and Thursday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

That schedule could set the right-hander up to come off the injured list this weekend. Cronin has yet to pitch in the majors this season while recovering from a left hip strain that cropped up toward the end of spring training, and he should slot into a lower-leverage role for the Marlins once activated after posting a 4.35 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 72:25 K:BB through 70.1 innings in 2024.

Martinez struck out one over a scoreless inning to earn a hold in Monday's 5-0 win over Pittsburgh.

Martinez's hold felt like a save. He entered the eighth inning with none out and the bases loaded and got a strikeout, popout and groundout. At the time when Martinez was activated off the injured list, Arizona manager Torey Lovullo indicated he'd prefer to ease him back before returning Martinez to a ninth-inning role, but Monday's outing may have jump-started the move back to closer.
