Matt Sauer RP | LAD
Dodgers' Matt Sauer: Optioned after first win
The Dodgers optioned Sauer to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday.
Sauer registered his first major-league victory Tuesday versus the Marlins, allowing one run over five frames in a bulk-relief role. His removal from the 26-man roster creates a spot for Tony Gonsolin (back), who was activated from the 15-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start in Wednesday's game against Miami.

Erik Miller RP | SF
Giants' Erik Miller: Delivers scoreless frame Tuesday
Miller threw a scoreless inning during Tuesday's 7-4 loss to the Padres, allowing one hit and striking out two.
The 27-year-old replaced Logan Webb in the sixth inning while facing a 5-4 deficit. Miller allowed a single while racking up a season-high mark in strikeouts and throwing 11 of his 18 pitches for strikes. The left-hander has surrendered only one run over 12 appearances this season, while allowing just two hits over his last six. Miller owns a 0.90 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and a 9:6 K:BB in 10 innings thus far.

Brandon Waddell RP | NYM
Mets' Brandon Waddell: Working as primary pitcher
Waddell will be called up from Triple-A Syracuse to serve as a primary pitcher out of the bullpen in Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Huascar Brazoban will draw his second start of the season Wednesday, but he'll serve as an opener and isn't expected to cover more than an inning or two before giving way to Waddell, who is set to make his first big-league appearance since 2021. The 30-year-old lefty has been impressive while pitching out of the rotation at Syracuse this season, logging a 1.54 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 21:7 K:BB in 23.1 innings.

Huascar Brazoban RP | NYM
Mets' Huascar Brazoban: Opening pitcher Wednesday
Brazoban will serve as the Mets' opening pitcher in Wednesday's game versus the Diamondbacks, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Brazoban will be making his second appearance of the season as an opener after tossing a scoreless inning earlier this month against the Twins. He'll be followed Wednesday by Brandon Waddell, who is expected to serve as the Mets' bulk reliever.

Chase Petty P | CIN
Reds' Chase Petty: Added to taxi squad for start
The Reds added Petty to their taxi squad ahead of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Cardinals in Cincinnati. Petty is slated to start the second game of the twin bill.
With a rainout Tuesday creating a stretch of six games in five days for the Reds, Petty will step in to serve as a temporary sixth starter. The 22-year-old righty is expected to be sent back to Louisville after the start, but a strong showing versus the Cardinals could solidify his case for joining the Reds on a longer-term basis later on in the season if a more permanent opening in the rotation should emerge. Through his five outings with Louisville this season, Petty owns a 3.52 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 27:9 K:BB across 23 innings.

Matt Sauer RP | LAD
Dodgers' Matt Sauer: Nabs first MLB win in bulk role
Sauer (1-0) picked up the win in Tuesday's 15-2 rout of the Marlins, allowing one run on five hits over five relief innings. He struck out four without walking a batter.
Jack Dreyer worked two innings as the opener before handing the ball, and a 4-1 lead, over to Sauer, who tossed 78 pitches (55 strikes) en route to his first career win in the majors. Tony Gonsolin (back) will join the Dodgers' rotation Wednesday, but the team is still one starter short with Blake Snell (shoulder) and Tyler Glasnow (shoulder) on the shelf and Shohei Ohtani still limited to bullpen sessions. It's not clear how Los Angeles intends to plug that hole, but Sauer's performance Tuesday should keep him in the mix either as a bulk reliever or traditional starter.

Gordon Graceffo P | STL
Cardinals' Gordon Graceffo: Up as 27th man for doubleheader
The Cardinals recalled Graceffo from Triple-A Memphis on Wednesday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Graceffo will serve as the 27th man during Wednesday's doubleheader against the Reds, though he'll be available only for the second game of the day. The right-hander was knocked around for seven runs (six earned) over three frames in his lone appearance with the Cardinals earlier this season. He's put up a 5.71 ERA and 16:5 K:BB across 17.1 innings in 2025 with Memphis.

Robert Suarez RP | ATL
Padres' Robert Suarez: Collects 11th save
Suarez worked a perfect ninth inning Tuesday to record his 11th save of the season in a 7-4 win over the Giants.
After getting tagged for his first run of the season in his last appearance Sunday, Suarez was right back in his usual stingy form. The 34-year-old right-hander is tied with the Mariners' Andres Munoz for the major-league lead in saves, and Suarez has also supplied a 0.69 ERA, 0.54 WHIP and 14:2 K:BB through 13 innings.

Chase Petty P | CIN
Reds' Chase Petty: Slated for MLB debut Wednesday
Petty will be called up from Triple-A Louisville to start the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Cardinals in Cincinnati, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.
The Reds and Cardinals were rained out Tuesday and will play a twin bill Wednesday. Petty, one of Cincinnati's top prospects, will make his MLB debut and serve as the club's 27th player on the roster. The 22-year-old right-hander is 0-2 with a 3.52 ERA with 27 strikeouts and nine walks over 23 innings in five starts for Louisville. Petty was dominant in his most recent start April 23, allowing one hit and two walks while striking out seven over six shutout innings. He'll likely be returned to Louisville after making his start Wednesday.
