  • Cardinals' Andrew Kittredge: Takes first loss

Kittredge (0-1) allowed one run on one hit over one inning, taking the loss Monday versus the Mets. He did not strike out or walk a batter.

Kittredge was charged with a run for the first time since April 6, though he took a blown save in his last outing Saturday for allowing an inherited runner to score. The scoreless streak spanned 10.1 innings. Even with the recent slip-ups, Kittredge is boasting a 1.20 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 15:3 K:BB over 15 innings this season while adding 10 holds. The right-hander has emerged as a key high-leverage option for the Cardinals, though Ryan Helsley is firmly entrenched as the closer this year.

  • Edwin Diaz RP | LAD

Mets' Edwin Diaz: Notches fifth save

Diaz earned a save against the Cardinals on Monday, striking out one batter in a perfect ninth inning.

Diaz blew his first save of the season Sunday against Tampa Bay, but he went right back to work with the Mets holding a one-run ninth-inning lead a day later. The star closer didn't falter this time, retiring all three batters he faced on 11 pitches. The save was Diaz's fifth of the campaign and his first since April 15.

  • Robert Suarez RP | ATL

Padres' Robert Suarez: Converts five-out save

Suarez struck out three batters over 1.2 perfect frames and earned a save over the Cubs on Monday.

Suarez was called into a bases-loaded, one-out jam in the eighth inning and quickly steamrolled the Cubs in order to finish off the game. He matched his longest outing of the year while firing 14 of 20 pitches for strikes. Suarez has been nearly perfect this season; he's 1-0 with a 0.59 ERA while converting each of his 11 save chances. The 33-year-old is currently riding a 13-inning scoreless streak.

  • Bryse Wilson RP | PHI

Brewers' Bryse Wilson: No win in scoreless outing

Wilson allowed a hit and three walks over six shutout frames in a no-decision Monday. He struck out six while the Brewers lost to Kansas City.

Wilson was in line for a win before the Royals plated three runs in the seventh inning right after he left the contest. The lone hit he gave up was a single and Kansas City never posed much of a threat during his outing. He also generated a season-high 11 whiffs. Wilson dropped his ERA to 2.40 with a 27:10 K:BB through 30 innings. As things stand, he currently projects for a home matchup with St. Louis this weekend.

  • Joe Kelly RP | LAD

Dodgers' Joe Kelly: Headed to injured list

Kelly has been placed on the 15-day injured list due to a right shoulder strain, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Kelly fought off a groin issue nearly one week ago, but he'll be shut down for at least the next 15 days after picking up a new injury. The club has yet to comment on the length of Kelly's stay on the IL, however, the right-hander "didn't believe it would keep him out too long," per David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports. This move clears a roster spot for Walker Buehler, who is making his season debut Monday night against the Marlins.

  • Jake Junis RP | TEX

Brewers' Jakob Junis: Shifts to 60-day IL

The Brewers transferred Junis (shoulder/head) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday.

Junis initially went on the IL back in early April with a right shoulder impingement but had a more recent setback when he was struck in the head by a ball during batting practice. As a result of being transferred to the 60-day IL, Junis will be moved off the 40-man roster and won't be eligible for activation until June 2.

  • Janson Junk RP | MIA

Brewers' Janson Junk: Sent back to minors

The Brewers optioned Junk to Triple-A Nashville on Monday.

Junk was roughed up for five runs on 13 hits and one walk over five relief innings in his three relief appearances with the Brewers. He had been mostly starting at Nashville prior to the promotion and could re-enter the Triple-A club's rotation.

  • Kevin Herget RP | NYM

Brewers' Kevin Herget: Called up by Milwaukee

The Brewers selected Herget's contract from Triple-A Nashville on Monday.

Right-hander Janson Junk was optioned to Nashville to open up a spot on the 26-man active roster and in the bullpen for Herget. The 33-year-old right-hander made 10 appearances for Nashville prior to his call-up, delivering a 3.46 ERA and 1.15 WHIP in 13 innings.

  • Ben Brown SP | CHC

Cubs' Ben Brown: Move to bullpen confirmed

Cubs manager Craig Counsell said Monday that Brown will be available out of the bullpen for the team's three-game series against the Padres, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Brown could rejoin the Chicago rotation at some point down the road, but for now, he'll shift to the bullpen with Justin Steele (hamstring) returning from the injured list to start Monday's series opener. The Cubs will keep Hayden Wesneski in the rotation over Brown as their No. 5 starter until Kyle Hendricks (back) returns from the IL.

  • Cubs' Keegan Thompson: Dispatched to Triple-A

The Cubs optioned Thompson to Triple-A Iowa on Monday, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Thompson has pitched well overall out of the Cubs bullpen this season, but he was roughed up in his last two appearances while yielding seven runs (four earned) and recording just three outs. He's being sent out to make room on the active roster for lefty Justin Steele (hamstring), who was reinstated from the injured list ahead of his scheduled start Monday versus the Padres.
