Blake Treinen RP | LAD
Dodgers' Blake Treinen: Close to rehab assignment
Treinen (chest) faced live hitters ahead of Saturday's game against the Mets, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts noted Friday that a rehab assignment could follow shortly after Treinen's session Saturday. Treinen started the season on the 15-day injured list after he sustained a bruised lung during spring training. The 35-year-old right-hander last pitched in the majors in 2022 when he posted a 1.80 ERA and 0.40 WHIP over five innings with Los Angeles.

Kyle Hurt RP | LAD
Dodgers' Kyle Hurt: Lands on IL
The Dodgers placed Hurt (shoulder) on the 15-day injured list Saturday, retroactive to April 17.
Hurt was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday and pitched two shutout innings in the Dodgers' 6-2 win over the Nationals. He's posted a 1.35 ERA and 1.35 WHIP over 6.2 innings in the majors this season while recording three strikeouts. In a corresponding move, the Dodgers recalled Nick Ramirez from Triple-A Sacramento.

Nick Ramirez RP | LAD
Dodgers' Nick Ramirez: Back with big club
The Dodgers recalled Ramirez from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday.
The move comes with the Dodgers placing Kyle Hurt (shoulder) on the injured list. Ramirez has made two appearances with the Dodgers out of the bullpen this season, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out one batter over three scoreless innings.

Kai-Wei Teng SP | HOU
Giants' Kai-Wei Teng: Headed down to Triple-A
Teng was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
The move corresponds with the Giants removing Sean Hjelle (elbow) from the 15-day IL. Teng has struggled in his first season in the majors, allowing 12 earned runs on 15 hits and eight walks over 11 innings. The right-hander will look to get his command back with Sacramento, where he posted a 4.22 ERA and 1.44 WHIP over 79 innings in 2023.

Sean Hjelle RP | SF
Giants' Sean Hjelle: Taken off injured list
The Giants activated Hjelle (elbow) from the 15-day injured list Saturday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Hjelle has shown steady improvement during his rehab assignment, and in his last outing with Triple-A Sacramento on April 17, he struck out two while allowing one hit over one scoreless inning. The right-hander will return to the Giants' bullpen and figures to step into a low-leverage relief role. San Francisco optioned Kai-Wei Teng to Triple-A Sacramento in a corresponding move.

Kolton Ingram RP | SF
Mets' Kolton Ingram: DFA'd by New York
The Mets designated Ingram for assignment Saturday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
The move corresponds with the Mets calling up Tomas Nido from Triple-A Syracuse while placing Francisco Alvarez (thumb) on IL. Ingram was optioned to Syracuse in spring training, and he has allowed four runs on five hits and six walks while striking out three over five innings with the affiliate to start the season. His last appearance in the majors was last season with the Dodgers, when he posted an 8.44 ERA and 2.44 WHIP across 5.1 frames.

Ryan Helsley RP | BAL
Cardinals' Ryan Helsley: Handed extra-inning loss
Helsley (1-2) allowed an unearned run on one hit over one inning to take the extra-inning loss versus the Brewers on Friday.
Helsley was brought in for the top of the 10th inning and gave up an RBI single to William Contreras. While it wasn't a save situation, it ended a four-inning scoreless streak for Helsley. The right-hander is 7-for-8 in saves while adding a 2.45 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 12:1 K:BB over 11 innings. He continues to operate as a traditional closer rather than in a committee as he had in previous years.

Kyle Tyler RP | BAL
Marlins' Kyle Tyler: Headed to majors
The Marlins selected Tyler's contract from Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday.
Tyler will return to the majors for the first time since 2022, when he appeared in two games for the Padres. He struggled in his last outing with Jacksonville on April 14, allowing four runs on four hits and two walks over 3.1 innings while striking out four. Tyler will provide bullpen depth for the Marlins after the team transferred left-hander Josh Simpson (elbow) to the 60-day IL on Saturday.
-
Josh Simpson RP | SEA
Marlins' Josh Simpson: Moved to 60-day IL
The Marlins transferred Simpson (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Saturday.
Simpson started the season on the 15-day IL with left elbow ulnar neuritis. He made an appearance with Single-A Jupiter on April 6 and appeared close to returning to the Marlins' bullpen, but the left-hander hasn't pitched since that outing. Right-hander Kyle Tyler was selected from Triple-A Jacksonville in a corresponding move, and Tyler will fill in for Simpson in Miami's bullpen.

Reed Garrett RP | NYM
Mets' Reed Garrett: Picks up third win
Garrett (3-0) was credited with a blown save and a win Friday, allowing two unearned runs on one hit in the sixth inning against the Dodgers. He struck out one.
Two errors in the inning by Joey Wendle, plus a hit-by-pitch from Garrett, contributed to the Mets coughing up a 4-2 lead, but they reclaimed it for good in the top of the seventh. The 31-year-old right-hander has been outstanding in a long-relief role to begin the season, and his 0.00 ERA and 0.83 WHIP are supported by a dazzling 18:3 K:BB through 9.2 innings over five appearances. It's tough to project him for many more wins given his usage, but if Garrett keeps racking up strikeouts with strong ratios, he'll still have fantasy value in deeper formats.
