The Marlins transferred Ekness (calf) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Sunday.

When Ekness was initially placed on the IL on June 1 due to a right calf strain, manager Clayton McCullough indicated that the right-handed reliever would be out for approximately six weeks. Ekness' move to the 60-day IL likely pushes his absence into August. The 24-year-old posted a 1.69 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 5:5 K:BB in 5.1 innings over six appearances for Miami prior to being injured.

Peralta will start Sunday's game against the Rangers as an opener.

The left-hander fired a scoreless frame as an opener Monday against the Cardinals and will be called upon to fill that role in front of Lucas Giolito again Sunday. Peralta has a 1.96 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 24:18 K:BB over 36.2 innings.

Pagan (hamstring) threw 20 pitches and used his entire repertoire in a live batting practice session Friday, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Pagan faced live hitters for the first time since landing on the injured list May 6. The right-hander was pleased with his command and stuff during workout and is scheduled to throw another live BP session Monday. If all goes well Monday, Pagan could then out on a minor-league rehab assignment.

Pfaadt allowed one unearned run on two hits and no walks while striking out four over 3.2 innings in a start for Triple-A Reno on Saturday.

Pfaadt, who was making his third start since being demoted to Triple-A, upped his pitch count to 52 (36 strikes). At the time of his demotion, the right-hander was pitching in relief and needed to be built back up as a starter. He owns a 1.80 ERA and 0.80 WHIP over 10 innings in the Pacific Coast League. With the Diamondbacks having placed two starters on the injured list over the weekend, Pfaadt is expected to eventually move into the major-league rotation once his pitch count gets up to the 75-to-80 range, per Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com.

Webb (1-2) took the loss and a blown save Saturday against the Blue Jays, allowing three runs on three hits while retiring only two batters in relief.

The right-hander was the second pitcher used in the eighth inning, as he came on after Caleb Thielbar walked a batter and allowed a single to start the frame. Webb still had an opportunity to protect a 5-3 Chicago lead, but he allowed a pair of RBI singles, then served up a three-run home run to Kazuma Okamoto to ultimately take the loss. Webb recorded a save Wednesday, which was Chicago's first save opportunity since Daniel Palencia (elbow) landed on the injured list. It remains to be seen who the Cubs will turn to next after this stumble.

Myers struck out a batter and was charged with two earned runs on three hits over 2.1 innings of relief Saturday in the Mets' 15-3 loss to the Phillies.

Myers was called up for a start Monday in Cincinnati but recorded just four outs before being chased from the game after allowing seven runs. He'll wind up getting just one turn through the rotation before returning to a long relief role. David Peterson will move into the rotation for Sunday's series finale, with Christian Scott (hip) likely to fill that spot afterward.

Hill recorded a save against Pittsburgh on Saturday, striking out one batter over a scoreless two-thirds of an inning.

Hill entered with a tough task, as he was asked to protect a one-run lead with runners on the corners and one out in the ninth inning. The right-hander hit Nick Gonzales with a pitch to load the bases but then got Tyler Callihan to strike out before inducing a game-ending grounder. The final play was a bit chaotic -- Jake Mangum appeared to have tied the game with an infield single, but a baserunner interference call at third base wiped out the would-be hit and ended the contest. Still, Hill got the job done, and he's now registered each of the Rockies' past two saves. It would probably be premature to declare him Colorado's primary closer, but he certainly appears to be in the mix moving forward.

Miller secured the save Saturday against the Rangers, allowing one unearned run on one hit and no walks in the 10th inning. He struck out two.

Miller allowed the automatic runner in extra innings to score, but he held on for the save Saturday and hasn't given up an earned run in his past five outings. The right-hander continues to put together a spectacular campaign, producing a 0.87 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and 61:12 K:BB over 31 frames. Miller is a flawless 20-for-20 on save opportunities, leading the National League in the category.

The Dodgers recalled McDermott from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday.

Acquired in a trade with the Orioles in April, McDermott made a lone appearance out of the Dodgers' bullpen during a prior stint with the big-league club. He has put up ugly ratios in the minors this season but has also struck out 30 batters in just 16.2 innings with Oklahoma City. McDermott replaces Blake Treinen (elbow) on the active roster.

The Dodgers placed Treinen on the 15-day injured list Saturday due to right elbow inflammation.

Treinen seemed to be rounding into form for the Dodgers, posting a 2.61 ERA and 1.16 WHIP to go along with three wins and a save over his last 13 appearances, but his campaign is now on hold due to the elbow injury. Chayce McDermott was called up from Triple-A Oklahoma City to replace Treinen on the active roster and in the Los Angeles bullpen.
