Luis Patino RP | SD
Padres' Luis Patino: Claimed by Padres
The Padres claimed Patino off waivers from the White Sox on Friday, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
It's a return to his original organization for Patino, who was traded from the Padres to the Rays prior to the 2021 season in the Blake Snell deal. Patino has managed just a 5.02 ERA and 124:70 K:BB in 136.1 major-league innings, but he's still only 24 and San Diego probably could use the pitching depth.

Andre Jackson RP | PIT
Pirates' Andre Jackson: Loses roster spot
The Pirates designated Jackson for assignment Thursday, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.
Jackson split the 2023 season between the Pirates and Dodgers and worked as both a starter and reliever. All told, he managed a 4.99 ERA and 1.21 WHIP across 61.1 innings in the majors, so he should be able to find a new opportunity in relatively short order.

Ryan Jensen RP | MIN
Marlins' Ryan Jensen: Pushed off 40-man roster
Jensen was designated for assignment by the Marlins on Wednesday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
This move clears out a 40-man roster spot for Roddery Munoz, who was acquired Wednesday from the Pirates. Jensen, 26, registered an underwhelming 5.06 ERA and 38:32 K:BB over 32 innings last season at Triple-A.

Devin Sweet RP | BOS
Giants' Devin Sweet: Claimed by San Francisco
Sweet was claimed off waivers by the Giants on Monday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
A 27-year-old reliever, Sweet walked as many as he struck out (six) while allowing 10 earned runs over 8.2 innings in the majors, split between stints with the Mariners and Athletics. He primarily pitched with Seattle's Double-A affiliate, logging a 1.54 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 47 strikeouts in 35 innings during that assignment. Sweet has minor-league options remaining.

Collin Snider RP | CHC
Diamondbacks' Collin Snider: Claimed by Arizona
Snider was claimed off waivers by the Diamondbacks on Monday.
A 28-year-old righty reliever, Snider was designated for assignment by Kansas City last week, but Arizona liked him enough to add him to its 40-man roster. Snider averaged 96-mph with his fastball and logged a 4.87 ERA, 1.82 WHIP and 11 strikeouts in 20.1 MLB innings last season. He will likely spend a good chunk of the year at Triple-A, as he has one minor-league option year remaining.

Yohan Ramirez RP | PIT
Mets' Yohan Ramirez: Traded to Mets
The Mets acquired Ramirez from the White Sox on Monday in exchange for cash considerations.
Ramirez was designated for assignment by the White Sox last week and has now found a new home. The 28-year-old holds a 3.99 ERA and 128:69 K:BB across 124 innings over parts of four seasons in the majors. Ramirez does not have options remaining, so he'll need to make the Mets' Opening Day roster or risk going through the waiver process again.

Tommy Nance RP | TOR
Padres' Tommy Nance: Inks MiLB deal with Padres
Nance (shoulder) signed a minor-league contract with the Padres on Dec. 10.
Nance elected to become a free agent after being outrighted off Miami's 40-man roster last month. The 32-year-old right-hander missed the majority of the 2023 season due to shoulder issues, but he should be ready for the start of spring training. He had a 4.33 ERA and 57:21 K:BB in 43.2 innings with the Marlins in 2022.

Raymond Kerr RP | ATL
Braves' Ray Kerr: Sent east in trade
Atlanta acquired Kerr, Matt Carpenter (elbow) and cash considerations from the Padres on Friday in exchange for Drew Campbell.
Kerr carries an ugly 5.06 ERA in 29 career major-league appearances, but he delivered a promising 2.25 ERA with 42 strikeouts across 36 innings with Triple-A El Paso in 2023. The hard-throwing 29-year-old lefty reliever could blossom in Atlanta's vaunted pitching system.

Taylor Clarke RP | ARI
Brewers' Taylor Clarke: Lands in Milwaukee
The Brewers acquired Clarke from the Royals on Thursday, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.
Ryan Brady and Cam Devanney will head to the Royals, who needed to free up a spot on their 40-man roster for the signing of Seth Lugo. Clarke posted a 5.95 ERA and 1.61 WHIP over 59 innings out of Kansas City's bullpen in 2023 but did also record 65 strikeouts. He should operate in middle relief for Milwaukee.

Cam Robinson P | NYM
Mets' Cam Robinson: Inks minors deal with Mets
The Mets signed Robinson to a minor-league contract Thursday with an invitation to major-league spring training, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
Robinson, 24, posted a rough 5.33 ERA, 1.91 WHIP and 58:39 K:BB over 50.2 innings of relief last year between the Double-A and Triple-A affiliates of the Brewers. The right-hander will function as organizational bullpen depth for New York in 2024.
