Guardians' Emmanuel Clase: Nails down 46th save

The right-hander got Carlos Correa and Royce Lewis to chase triple-digit cutters as he converted his 33rd straight save chance, with his last blown save coming May 19. Clase is having a career year, which is saying something given the level of performance he'd already established, The 26-year-old's 46 saves leads the majors, and it comes with a minuscule 0.65 ERA, 0.65 WHIP and 63:8 K:BB through 69.1 innings.

Suarez is up to 33 saves in 38 chances this year while maintaining a 2.55 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 54:14 K:BB across 60 innings. Royals' Sam Long: Takes second loss

Long (3-2) allowed three runs on three hits and struck out one over two-thirds of an inning to take the loss Monday versus the Tigers.

Long allowed a two-run double to Wenceel Perez in the sixth inning, and John Schreiber allowed an inherited runner to score the decisive run, which stuck Long with the loss. While he's generally been steady this year, Long has faded in September, allowing five runs over seven innings this month. • Royals' James McArthur: Diagnosed with elbow tightness

McArthur exited Monday's game against Detroit due to right elbow tightness.

The Angels optioned starter Caden Dana to Double-A Rocket City on Monday, but the club could roll with a five-man rotation over the final two weeks rather than having Rosenberg replace Dana as a sixth starter.
