Anthony DeSclafani RP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Anthony DeSclafani: Activated from IL
The Diamondbacks activated DeSclafani (thumb) from the 15-day injured list Sunday.
DeSclafani has been on the shelf since mid-August with right thumb inflammation, and he threw 30 pitches in his most recent bullpen session. The veteran right-hander had made a few trips through the rotation before suffering the injury. Considering the number of pitches he threw in the bullpen session and Nabil Crismatt's recent success, DeSclafani could be moved to the bullpen. However, a six-man rotation remains a possibility. Reliever Bryce Jarvis was optioned to Triple-A Reno in a corresponding move.

Bryce Jarvis RP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Bryce Jarvis: Sent to Reno
The Diamondbacks optioned Jarvis to Triple-A Reno after Saturday's game against the Red Sox.
Jarvis will lose his spot on the active roster as Anthony DeSclafani (thumb) is reinstated from the injured list. Jarvis allowed four runs without recording an out Saturday. He appeared in three games during his latest MLB stint, yielding seven runs across 6.1 innings.

Josh Sborz RP | TEX
Rangers' Josh Sborz: Won't return in 2025
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Sunday that Sborz (shoulder) has been shut down for the remainder of the season, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
He'll go the entire 2025 season without pitching in the majors, with Bochy noting that the decision not to activate Sborz from the 60-day injured list stems from the right-hander not being able to consistently reach his expected velocity coming off the shoulder surgery he underwent last November. With a full offseason to rest and ramp up, Sborz should be a full participant at the start of spring training.

Carl Edwards RP | NYM
Rangers' Carl Edwards: Joining big-league club
The Rangers selected Edwards' contract from Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Edwards inked a minor-league deal with the Rangers on July 22, and after posting a 5.31 ERA in eight appearances (seven starts) at Round Rock, he'll join the active roster. The 34-year-old started the season in the Angels' organization and logged a 1.54 ERA in 11.2 innings with their Triple-A affiliate before electing free agency in May.

Caleb Boushley RP | TB

Colin Selby RP | BAL
Orioles' Colin Selby: Rehab assignment pending
Selby (hamstring) is expected to begin a rehab assignment this week, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reported Sunday.
Selby has been on the shelf with a strained left hamstring since July 29. It's unclear how many rehab outings the 27-year-old reliever will require before being reinstated from the IL, but it seems as though he'll be healthy before the end of the regular season. In nine appearances with the Orioles in 2025, Selby logged a 4.09 ERA with a 12:2 K:BB across 11 innings.

Tyler Phillips SP | MIA
Marlins' Tyler Phillips: Opening Sunday's contest
Phillips will serve as an the Marlins' opening pitcher for Sunday's game against the Phillies, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.
Phillips made seven starts for Philadelphia in 2024, but he's been deployed exclusively as a reliever during his first season in Miami. Though he's in line for his first start of 2025 while taking on his former team, Phillips isn't expected to cover much more than an inning or two before turning the game over to the bullpen. Sunday had been Adam Mazur's turn in the rotation, so Mazur could be deployed in bulk relief behind Phillips.
