Moore was removed from Sunday's loss to the Blue Jays due to an elbow injury, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

The veteran left-hander recorded just one out and allowed two runs on a hit and a walk before exiting Sunday's contest due to the injury. The specifics of the elbow issue are unclear, and Moore will be evaluated further when the Angels arrive in Detroit ahead of Tuesday's series opener.

The Marlins claimed Baumann off waivers from the Angels on Sunday.

The right-hander was designated for assignment by the Angels on Friday and will now join his fifth MLB club of the season. Bauman posted a 3.76 ERA in 60 appearances for the Orioles last season, but he has a 5.24 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 40:21 K:BB across 44.2 frames in 2024. The right-hander has no minor-league options remaining, so he'll need to be added to the Marlins' 26-man active roster.

The Orioles claimed Kriske off waivers from the Reds and optioned him to Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday, Cordell Woodland of 105.7 The Fan Baltimore reports.

The 30-year-old was designated for assignment by the Reds on Thursday, and the Orioles claimed him to bolster their organizational pitching depth. Kriske has spent the full season at Triple-A to this point and has a 3.06 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 73:32 K:BB over 50 innings.

The Brewers placed Mears on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to right forearm inflammation.

Mears has surrendered eight earned runs in 11 outings since being acquired by the Brewers, and he'll now be unavailable for at least the next couple weeks due to the forearm issue. Aaron Ashby was called up from Triple-A Nashville to replace Mears in Milwaukee's bullpen.

Martinez didn't factor into the decision Sunday against Pittsburgh, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits and no walks with a strikeout over three innings.

Martinez didn't come out for the fourth inning as he handed the ball off to Carson Spiers -- who threw four innings of relief -- after just 54 pitches. Sunday's outing was Martinez's fifth straight start, and it's unclear why his appearance was cut short. During that five-start stretch, Martinez has posted a 3.55 ERA with a 20:3 K:BB. If he pitches on regular rest, Martinez would likely match up against the Brewers next weekend. However, after tossing merely three innings, he could be available to pitch earlier if he's needed.

Martinez picked up the save Sunday against Boston, allowing a solo home run and no walks with one strikeout during the ninth inning.

Martinez inherited a three-run lead in the ninth frame and offered up a solo home run to Tyler O'Neill to start the inning. Martinez was able to shake off the long ball and retired Masataka Yoshida, Connor Wong and Romy Gonzalez in order to secure his sixth save of the season. Martinez emerged as the Diamondbacks' closer in August, and he's 6-for-6 in save opportunities this month. While manager Torey Lovullo said Friday that he wants to get Paul Sewald back to being a closer, the team opted for Martinez in the ninth Sunday. The 22-year-old has been outstanding this season, posting a 2.02 ERA in 58 innings, and, for now, is the favorite to see save opportunities.

Finnegan picked up the save Sunday against Atlanta, allowing one hit and no walks with two strikeouts across 1.1 scoreless innings.

Sunday's save pushed Finnegan's season total to 32, which ranks third in all of baseball. It was just his sixth time throwing more than one inning in 2024 but the third time he's done so in August. While Finnegan sports a 3.51 ERA through 51.1 innings this season, he's been shaky lately, allowing nine runs in his last nine outings (8.2 innings).

The Tigers reinstated Faedo (personal) from the paternity list Sunday and placed him on the 15-day injured list with a right shoulder strain.

Faedo is back with the Tigers after he spent the maximum three games away from the team to welcome a new addition to his family, but the right-hander had been apparently dealing with the injury prior to his recent leave of absence. His placement on the IL is retroactive to Thursday, so he'll be eligible for reinstatement as soon as Sept. 6. While operating out of the bullpen and serving as an occasional opener for the Tigers this season, Faedo has accrued a 3.61 ERA and 1.34 WHIP across 57.1 innings.

The Padres optioned Gillaspie to Triple-A El Paso on Sunday.

The right-hander was called up by San Diego on Thursday, and he'll return to the minors after giving up six earned runs in two relief appearances. Gillaspie is heading back to El Paso, where he has a 3.60 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 31:14 K:BB across 35 innings this year.

The Padres called up Bachar from Triple-A El Paso on Sunday.

Bachar will receive his first look in the big leagues after posting a 4.12 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 81:31 K:BB across 67.2 frames with El Paso this season. The right-hander should fill a low-leverage role out of the bullpen while up with the Padres.
