  • Andrew Chafin RP | CIN

Rangers' Andrew Chafin: Dealt to Rangers

The Tigers traded Chafin to the Rangers on Tuesday in exchange for Joseph Montalvo and Chase Lee, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Chafin has been one of the Tigers' top bullpen arms this season, logging a 3.16 ERA in 37.0 innings with eight holds and 50 strikeouts. The southpaw will join a righty-heavy bullpen in Texas and could be used as a setup man for closer Kirby Yates.

  • Lucas Erceg RP | KC

Royals' Lucas Erceg: Lands with Kansas City

The Royals acquired Erceg from the Athletics on Tuesday in exchange for Mason Barnett, Will Klein and Jared Dickey, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Erceg hasn't even reached arbitration eligibility yet, but the Athletics have decided to take advantage of the prices being paid in the relief market. The 29-year-old former position player has posted a 3.68 ERA and 41:13 K:BB across 36.2 innings out of Oakland's bullpen in 2024, collecting three saves along the way. Erceg could get a shot to close in Kansas City, especially due to James McArthur's recent struggles.

  • Yosver Zulueta RP | BAL

Reds' Yosver Zulueta: Back with big club

The Reds recalled Zulueta from Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday.

Despite being optioned to Louisville on Monday, Zulueta is eligible to rejoin the big-league roster after the team made a pair of trades. Cincinnati is slated for a bullpen game Tuesday against the Cubs, and Zulueta could be utilized for an inning or two. The 26-year-old has allowed one run in five MLB innings this season and has logged a 2.18 ERA at Triple-A.

  • Caleb Ferguson RP | STL

Astros' Caleb Ferguson: Shipped to Houston

The Astros acquired Ferguson from the Yankees on Tuesday in exchange for right-hander Kelly Austin, Jack Curry of YES Network reports.

Ferguson will provide the Astros with additional bullpen depth after appearing in 42 games with the Yankees this season. The 27-year-old logged a 5.13 ERA, a 1.50 WHIP and 10 holds across 33.1 innings for New York. He's not expected to see much high-leverage work in Houston.

  • Angels' Mike Baumann: Traded to Halos

The Angels acquired Baumann from the Giants on Tuesday in exchange for cash, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.

San Francisco designated Baumann for assignment Saturday, but he'll regain a 40-man roster spot with a new organization. He's out of minor-league options and thus will need to be added to the Angels' 26-man active roster. The right-hander reliever holds a 4.84 ERA and 1.44 WHIP over 35.1 innings across 36 appearances with the Giants, Mariners and Orioles.

  • Tony Santillan RP | CIN

Reds' Tony Santillan: Serving as opener Tuesday

Santillan will serve as the Reds' opening pitcher in Tuesday's game versus the Cubs, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Frankie Montas had been on turn to start Tuesday, but he was traded to the Brewers on Monday. Santillan is projected to work an inning or two in what will be a bullpen game for the Reds.

  • Mets' Shintaro Fujinami: Sent outright to Triple-A

The Mets outrighted Fujinami to Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Fujinami is making $3.35 million in 2024, so it's not surprising that he passed through waivers unclaimed after being designated for assignment. He'll remain at Syracuse, where he holds an 10.95 ERA and 14:25 K:BB over 12.1 frames this season.

  • Brandon Walter RP | HOU

Red Sox's Brandon Walter: Removed from 40-man roster

The Red Sox designated Walter (shoulder) for assignment Tuesday, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

The move frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for trade-deadline acquisition Lucas Sims. Walter has been sidelined all season with a shoulder strain, an injury he suffered in early March. Assuming he clears waivers, Walter will remain on Triple-A Worcester's 60-day injured list.

  • Lucas Sims RP | CHW

Red Sox's Lucas Sims: Traded to Boston

The Red Sox acquired Sims from the Reds on Tuesday in exchange for right-hander Ovis Portes, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.

Sims has posted a 3.57 ERA and 40:20 K:BB over 35.1 innings in 2024 as a member of the Reds bullpen. The pending free agent boasts a career 27.5 percent strikeout rate but also an 11.9 percent walk rate. He'll slot in as a setup man for Boston in front of closer Kenley Jansen.

  • Jack Neely P | CHC

Cubs' Jack Neely: Goes to Cubs in trade

The Cubs acquired Neely and infielder Benjamin Cowles (undisclosed) from the Yankees on Tuesday in exchange for right-hander Mark Leiter, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Neely, 24, has split this season between Double-A Somerset and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, posting a 2.81 ERA and 63:16 K:BB over 41.2 frames. He could emerge as a high-leverage reliever for the Cubs once he reaches the majors.
