O'Brien blew the save in Sunday's 3-2 loss to San Diego. He allowed two runs on two hits and no walks while striking out three over one inning.

O'Brien had his club one strike away from securing a series win in San Diego before Nick Castellanos launched a game-tying two-run homer on the ninth pitch of the at-bat in the bottom of the ninth inning. Sunday marked the hard-throwing right-hander's third blown save of the campaign, snapping a streak of four consecutive saves. Despite the stumble, O'Brien has been effective in the closer role in 2026, posting a 2.84 ERA and 0.95 WHIP with 11 saves and a stellar 23:1 K:BB across 19 innings.

Latz secured the save Sunday against the Cubs, throwing two clean innings. He struck out one.

Latz continues to cement himself as the favorite for saves with the Rangers. The 30-year-old left-hander has successfully converted all four of his save opportunities in 2026, also turning in nine consecutive scoreless outings. Overall, Latz owns a tidy 0.87 ERA, 0.44 WHIP and 17:4 K:BB over 20.2 innings so far.

Leahy did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing two hits and four walks over five scoreless innings against the Padres. He struck out five.

Leahy's control wasn't stellar, as he issued a season-high four walks, but the Padres struggled to string together hits while the right-hander turned in his first scoreless outing of the season. After factoring into the decision in each of his first seven starts (4-3), Sunday marked the 28-year-old's first no-decision of the campaign. He'll carry a 4.31 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 32:17 K:BB across 39.2 innings into his next start, tentatively scheduled for Saturday against the Royals.

Dominguez secured the save Sunday against the Mariners, allowing no runs on one hit and two walks in the ninth inning. He struck out one.

Dominguez made things interesting Sunday, loading the bases and putting the possible go-ahead run in scoring position, but he held on with a game-ending groundout. The right-hander has been solid as Chicago's closer, posting a 3.45 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 20:10 K:BB over 15.2 innings while converting nine of his 11 save opportunities. Dominguez has secured six consecutive save chances as well.

Slaten struck out one over a scoreless inning in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Rays.

Slaten made his first appearance since being activated off the injured list Saturday. The right-hander had dealt with an oblique injury that kept him sidelined since April 4. Slaten is likely to fill a spot at the back end of Boston's bullpen.

Gomez earned the save in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Guardians by recording all three outs in a scoreless ninth.

Gomez was tasked with protecting the Twins' one-run lead in the ninth and answered the call by tossing nine strikes on 10 pitches for his second save of the season and third of his major-league career. The Twins are still figuring out who their go-to closer will be, and seven players have logged at least one save this season. Justin Topa leads the way with two saves, though he's given up nine earned runs over his last 2.1 innings.

Soriano (6-2) earned the win against the Blue Jays on Sunday, allowing one run on five hits and one walk while striking out seven across 7.2 innings.

Soriano yielded an RBI double to Kazuma Okamoto in the first inning, but that ended up being the only run allowed by the veteran right-hander. Following Okamoto's double, Soriano retired the next 20 batters he faced, a streak that was broken by a Myles Straw infield single in the eighth. It was the fifth quality start of the season for Soriano and his first since April 12 against the Reds. It was the bounce-back performance he needed after giving up eight earned runs over his last two starts, and he now sits at a 1.66 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 61:20 K:BB across 54.1 innings this season. Soriano's next start is tentatively slated for this weekend at home against the Dodgers.

Minter (hip/lat) completed a bullpen session Saturday, Laura Albanese of Newsday reports.

Minter was placed on the 15-day injured list prior to Opening Day while he finished up his recovery from March 2025 surgery on his left lat, and though he experienced no setbacks with that injury once he began pitching in minor-league games in early April, he was pulled off the assignment last week when he experienced left hip discomfort. Given that he's already resumed mound work, Minter seems to be bouncing back nicely from the hip issue. He's expected to throw more bullpen sessions before the Mets consider him for a return to game action, though it's unclear if he'll require another extended minor-league assignment prior to being activated.

Marlins manager Clayton McCullough said that he expects Fairbanks (hand) to return from the 15-day injured list Wednesday when first eligible, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

After checking out fine after throwing a live batting practice session Saturday, Fairbanks has been cleared to join the Marlins for the start of their six-game road trip and should be ready to go for the second game of the club's series in Minnesota. Before hitting the shelf April 28 after experiencing nerve irritation in his right hand, Fairbanks had notched five saves in six chances but had posted a 10.00 ERA and 1.44 WHIP in nine innings over 10 appearances. Fairbanks' underlying numbers (3.48 xERA, 22.0 K-BB%) were more encouraging, however, and he should immediately step back in as Miami's preferred closing option, as none of the Marlins' other relievers have seized control of the ninth inning while he's been on the shelf.

Jax is slated to start Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays in Toronto, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

After making his first 11 appearances of the season as a reliever and recording no more than six outs in any of those contests, Jax has gradually gotten more stretched out while starting in his last three outings. He built up to 59 pitches and four innings in his most recent start Thursday in Boston, and if he's able to tack on another inning to his workload Wednesday, Jax will have a shot at qualifying for a win. The Rays haven't indicated whether Jax will remain in a starting role for the long haul, though the team will have a spot in the rotation available to him while both Steven Matz (elbow) and Joe Boyle (elbow) are stuck on the injured list.
