Waites (elbow) was non-tendered by the Giants on Friday.

Waites is recovering from Tommy John surgery that will keep him out for the entire 2024 season. The hard-throwing righty reliever had a down year in 2023, logging a 6.16 ERA at Triple-A and struggling in a brief look in the majors.

Szapucki (side) was non-tendered by the Giants on Friday.

He had surgery to relieve thoracic outlet syndrome in May, so Szapucki may not be healthy for the start of the 2024 season. The 27-year-old lefty converted to relief pitching after joining the Giants from the Mets in 2022. He has an 8.68 ERA in 18.2 MLB innings.

Heuer (elbow) became a free agent Friday after being non-tendered by the Cubs.

Heuer hasn't appeared in a major-league game since 2021 and is on the mend from June surgery to repair a fracture in his right elbow. The 27-year-old will seek out a fresh start on the open market.

Cruz was non-tendered by the Giants on Friday.

A 23-year-old reliever who has never pitched above Double-A, Cruz logged a 6.66 ERA and 31 walks in 25.2 innings at Double-A in 2023.

Hughes (knee) was non-tendered by the Cubs on Friday.

Hughes allowed 11 earned runs over 13.2 innings this past year with Chicago before requiring season-ending knee surgery in June. He should be 100 percent by the spring but is now a free agent and may have to find a new home.

Roberts (elbow) was non-tendered by the Cubs on Friday.

Roberts underwent Tommy John surgery in July of 2022 and did not pitch at any level in 2023, though he's expected to be fully recovered by the beginning of spring training in 2024. The 26-year-old right-hander should get a fresh start with a new organization.

Paredes signed a minor-league contract with the Brewers on Friday that includes an invitation to spring training, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Paredes, a 28-year-old righty reliever has only been a member of the Houston Astros dating back to 2016, but he elected free agency this offseason. He spent all of 2023 at Triple-A and struggled with his control, walking 45 batters in 54.1 innings.

Doyle was non-tendered by the Rockies on Friday.

Doyle was designated for assignment Friday morning and is now officially a free agent. The 27-year-old right-hander yielded 18 earned runs over 23.2 major-league innings in 2023.

Gott became a free agent Friday after being non-tendered by the Mets.

Gott posted a 4.19 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 62:19 K:BB in 58 innings of relief this past season between Seattle and New York. He had been projected to command around $2 million for 2024 via salary arbitration.

Coonrod was non-tendered by the Mets on Friday.

Coonrod surrendered seven earned runs over just 6.2 major-league innings with New York in 2023. The 31-year-old right-hander is now a free agent.
