Jackson allowed three runs on five hits and two walks over 3.2 innings in a loss to the Reds during Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader. He struck out five and did not factor in the decision.

Jackson made his first career MLB start and needed 78 pitches to record just 11 outs. He entered Sunday's game with an eight-inning scoreless streak and lost it in the second inning when Luke Maile knocked a two-run double. Jackson's ERA climbed to 5.47 with a 28:5 K:BB through 26.1 innings. He's currently expected to make a start in Minnesota, though it's unclear if the Pirates will move him back to the bullpen or not.

Bednar allowed a hit in a scoreless inning during Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader against Cincinnati. He struck out two and earned a save.

Bednar gave up five runs over his previous three appearances but finally snapped out of the rut Sunday. He needed just 12 pitches to close out the 4-2 victory. Bednar has now converted 24 of his 27 save chances this season while registering a 2.03 ERA and a 59:15 K:BB through 48.2 frames.

Antone (elbow) had a scheduled rehab appearance scratched Aug. 11, MLB.com reports.

Cincinnati manager David Bell said there were things going on in the game and it wasn't an ideal situation for Antone, who has been working his way back from Tommy John surgery. Bell added that the pitcher "didn't feel great." Antone's next scheduled appearance is Aug. 15. The Reds were hoping for the reliever to return Aug. 19, and it's not known if being scratched alters the timeline.

Young (4-1) returned from a back injury and took the loss in the first game of Sunday's doubleheader against the Pirates. He allowed two runs on one hit and one walk.

Young, who was removed from his previous outing due to back spasms, was part of a bullpen breakdown that began with Lucas Sims, who had walked a two batters including one that scored on a home run Young allowed. The Reds bullpen has come under scrutiny recently; Cincinnati relievers have a combined 5.68 ERA (26th in MLB) in 50.2 innings (fifth most) over the last 14 days.

Doval (4-3) got the win over the Rangers in an extra inning Sunday, but he allowed an unearned run on two hits and a walk and struck out one in 1.1 innings.

Giants starter Logan Webb was one out away from a complete-game shutout Sunday, but manager Gabe Kapler would not take his chances and called upon Doval to close things out after Webb allowed a two-out double. Doval got what he thought was a game-ending groundball, but Ezequiel Duran beat the throw from Brandon Crawford and the run scored to force an extra inning. Doval worked through some trouble in the extra frame as well and allowed the Rangers to take the lead after he balked home a run following a leadoff single. The 25-year-old was bailed out in the bottom half of the frame after the Giants walked it off and awarded him his second win since the All-Star break. Doval now has two saves and a win in four appearances this month and sits at a 2.36 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 33 saves in 53 games on the year.

Jarvis will pitch out of the bullpen in the majors, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.

Jarvis has been a starter throughout his minor-league career but was recently moved to the bullpen at Triple-A Reno in preparation for a relief role in the majors, per Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic. The Diamondbacks are short on starting options right now and could use Jarvis for multiple innings in a variety of roles until the rotation is sorted out. General manager Mike Hazen said that he's comfortable asking Jarvis to throw between 40 and 60 pitches in an outing. The first step toward normalizing the rotation is a healthy Zach Davies (back). Davies is scheduled to make a second rehab start Tuesday and could return Sunday.

Smith (1-4) allowed two runs (one earned) on one hit while striking out a batter in two-thirds of an inning Sunday against the Giants. He blew the save and took the loss.

Smith was called upon to protect a one-run lead in the 10th and nearly accomplished it after retiring the first two batters he faced. The lefty made a good pitch with an inside fastball to Patrick Bailey, but Bailey jumped on it and just cleared the fence in left field to give the Giants the win. Sunday was Smith's first blown save and loss since July 3 even though he's allowed runs in three of his last four outings. Aroldis Chapman has thrown six shutout innings while recording a 15:2 K:BB this month and could be making a case to get a look at the closer role if Smith's struggles continue.

Estevez struck out two during a 1-2-3 ninth inning Sunday to slam the door on the Astros and pick up his 25th save of the year.

Estevez locked down his second save of the week and needed just 12 pitches to send the Astros down in order. He struck out Grae Kessinger and Yainer Diaz before getting Jose Altuve to fly out to end the game. The 30-year-old seems to be getting back on track after some rough showings over the past few weeks. Estevez now holds a 3.42 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 58:27 K:BB in 47.1 innings.

Silseth (4-1) tossed five scoreless innings to earn the win over the Astros on Sunday. He allowed just four hits and two walks while striking out five.

Silseth continued his run of dominance since being recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake on July 19. He's made four starts, all against teams currently over .500, and holds a 1.59 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 31:5 K:BB in 22.2 innings. The one negative is that manager Phil Nevin has allowed Silseth to throw more than 85 pitches just once over that span and therefore he's reached only six innings once. The Angels just returned Griffin Canning from the injured list Sunday, which congests the rotation; however, it seems safe to say Silseth's starting spot is secure for now given the season-long struggles for Tyler Anderson and the recent struggles for Reid Detmers.

Duran picked up the save Sunday against Philadelphia, working around a hit in a scoreless inning.

It's the third straight scoreless appearance for Duran after he allowed five earned runs over his previous three outings (2.1 innings). The 25-year-old right-hander is now 21-for-25 in save chances with a 2.76 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 61:18 K:BB across 45.2 innings this season.
