May tossed a perfect inning and earned a save over San Francisco on Sunday.

May threw 11 of 13 pitches for strikes to quickly finish off the 8-6 win. He's turned in 6.2 consecutive shutout frames, converting five of six save chances during that stretch. The 33-year-old has 11 saves with a 4.15 ERA through 30.1 innings this season.

Silseth struck out 12 and allowed two runs on four hits and a walk over seven innings in Sunday's 3-2 extra-inning loss to Seattle. He didn't factor into the decision.

Making his second straight turn through the rotation in place of Griffin Canning (calf), Silseth was outstanding, forcing a career-high 21 whiffs while also setting a new career high in strikeouts. He coughed up a pair of solo home runs, and the Angels offense went missing again, preventing him from claiming his third win in as many appearances. Over his last three starts, the 23-year-old righty has compiled an impressive 26:3 K:BB and 2.04 ERA through 17.2 innings. Though Canning isn't expected to be in line for a lengthy stay on the 15-day injured list, Silseth has probably performed too well of late for the playoff-hopeful Angels to remove him from the rotation. He's likely to pick up another start during the Angels' series in Houston this upcoming weekend.

Sewald (3-2) was charged with the loss and a blown save after allowing three runs on two hits and a walk while failing to record an out in the ninth inning against the Twins on Sunday.

Sewald had a nightmare outing in just his second appearance since being acquired by the Diamondbacks. Max Kepler led off the ninth with a home run to tie up the game. Sewald then walked Jorge Polanco before Matt Wallner crushed a fastball to walk it off for the Twins. It was a dramatic meltdown for Sewald, who had given up just one run over his prior 10 appearances, but he'll remain the closer unless his struggles persist across multiple outings.

Finnegan picked up the save Sunday against Cincinnati. He allowed two hits while striking out two over a scoreless ninth inning.

Finnegan allowed two baserunners to reach with one out, leaving the door open for a Reds comeback, but finished the job by retiring the final two batters he faced. Despite being stuck on a last-place team, Finnegan has had a highly effective season for the Nationals, having allowed a total of only three earned runs in 27 innings since the beginning of June. With Hunter Harvey on the injured list with an elbow strain, Finnegan should maintain the role of closer for the foreseeable future.

Murphy (1-1) took the loss in Sunday's 13-1 loss against the Blue Jays. He allowed six runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out three over 2.1 innings.

Murphy entered in the second inning as the bulk reliever but couldn't contain a hot Blue Jays offense. The six runs allowed were one more than Murphy had allowed in his previous 28.1 innings coming into the contest. Murphy is likely to continue to serve in a role working behind an opener moving forward.

Romano (back) completed a bullpen session Sunday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Romano seems to be making good progress in his recovery from lower-back inflammation and looks like he'll have a chance at returning from the 15-day injured list when first eligible Aug. 13. While Romano has been sidelined, the Blue Jays have leaned on Erik Swanson (two saves) and Jordan Hicks (one save) in closing situations.

Abreu picked up the save Sunday against the Yankees. He allowed a hit and two walks while striking out two over 1.1 scoreless innings.

Abreu was tasked with closing out the Astros' victory Sunday with Ryan Pressly unavailable. After relieving Hector Neris in the eighth, the 26-year-old Abreu allowed an inherited run to score before working around a pair of walks in the ninth to earn the four-out save. Overall, Abreu's been solid while setting up Pressly this season -- his ERA is down to 2.39 with a 1.16 WHIP and 79:24 K:BB across 52.2 innings.

Triple-A Sugar Land placed Dubin on its 7-day injured list Friday with an unspecified injury.

After a brief stint in Houston, Dubin returned to Triple-A on July 3 and compiled a 4.63 ERA and 1.46 WHIP in 11.2 innings over four appearances with Sugar Land before landing on the IL. The severity of Dubin's injury isn't known, but it'll take him out of the mix for a potential promotion for the foreseeable future.

Bautista picked up the save in Sunday's 2-0 win over the Mets. He allowed one hit while striking out one in a scoreless ninth inning.

A leadoff double was the only blemish for Bautista, who is compiling one of the greatest single-season efforts for a reliever of all time. Bautista not only has a 102:21 K:BB but has also struck out more than two times the total number of baserunners he's allowed. He hasn't allowed an earned run over his past 14 outings, and his 0.85 ERA is best among all pitchers with at least 30 innings.

Loaisiga (elbow) will likely be activated from the injured list Monday, Max Goodman of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

Loaisiga was placed on the IL in early April due to right elbow inflammation and has remained there since. The right-handed reliever has been rehabbing in the minors since late July and most recently tossed an inning Friday, allowing two runs on four hits while striking out three batters. Despite that rough outing, Loaisiga appears ready to rejoin a Yankees bullpen that has posted easily the best collective ERA (3.07) in the majors this season.
