Rockies' Sammy Peralta: Expected to be called up Friday

Peralta is set to be called up from Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.

Peralta has made seven appearances out of the bullpen with Albuquerque since the Rockies claimed him off waivers April 4, posting a 3.72 ERA and 1.09 WHIP with seven strikeouts over 9.2 innings. The 26-year-old will give Colorado another left-handed option out of its bullpen ahead of a three-game series against the Mets.

  • Caleb Thielbar RP | CHC

Cubs' Caleb Thielbar: Blows save, leaves with injury

Thielbar exited with an apparent leg injury in the ninth inning of Thursday's game versus the Phillies, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.

Thielbar suffered a blown save when he served up a game-tying, solo home run to Adolis Garcia to lead off the top of the ninth inning. Three pitches after that, he appeared to tweak his hamstring and had to be pulled. The Cubs should offer an update on Thielbar's condition shortly. The left-hander has been filling in at closer since Daniel Palencia (oblique) went on the injured list. If Thielbar misses time, the Cubs could turn to Ben Brown to close games. Phil Maton (knee) would also be an option if he comes off the IL soon.

  • Craig Yoho RP | MIL

Brewers' Craig Yoho: Activated, optioned to Triple-A

The Brewers reinstated Yoho (calf) from the injured list Thursday and optioned him to Triple-A Nashville, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Yoho has been on the injured list all season due to a right calf strain that he suffered during spring training. However, he's been playing in rehab games at Nashville since Sunday and has already pitched 2.1 shutout innings with the Sounds. The 26-year-old righty has dominated hitters throughout his minor-league career but gave up seven earned runs in just 8.2 innings with the Brewers last season. If he's able to come back from injury and right the ship in Triple-A, it may not be long before he gets another chance in Milwaukee's bullpen.

  • Carter Baumler RP | TEX

Rangers' Carter Baumler: Ready for rehab assignment

Baumler (intercostal) has been sent to Triple-A Round Rock to begin a rehab assignment.

Baumler has been shelved since early April with a right intercostal strain. The Rule 5 pick seems likely to make multiple rehab appearances before rejoining the Rangers' bullpen around the beginning of May.

  • Robert Garcia RP | TEX

Rangers' Robert Garcia: Shelved by shoulder inflammation

The Rangers placed Garcia on the 15-day injured list Thursday with left shoulder inflammation.

Garcia hasn't pitched in a week due to the injury, and the Rangers finally decided to put him on the IL. The reliever will be eligible to return May 5, though it's unclear whether the Rangers expect him to be ready by that time. Jakob Junis has been serving as the Rangers' primary closer this season, and that should continue while Garcia is sidelined.

  • Nationals' Julian Fernandez: Dispatched to Triple-A

The Nationals optioned Fernandez to Triple-A Rochester on Thursday.

Fernandez appeared in three games after getting called up to Washington on Monday, allowing three earned runs on four hits and two walks while striking out three batters over four innings. The 30-year-old reliever will now head back to the minors, where he owns a 4.70 ERA through 7.2 frames this season.

  • Austin Warren RP | NYM

Mets' Austin Warren: Back in minors

The Mets optioned Warren to Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday.

After being recalled from Triple-A on April 14, Warren made two appearances out of the bullpen and gave up one earned run on two hits and no walks while striking out four batters in 1.2 innings. The 30-year-old will now return to Syracuse to work as organizational bullpen depth, clearing space on the active roster for Christian Scott, who will start Thursday's game against Minnesota.

  • Chris Murphy RP | CHW

White Sox's Chris Murphy: Cleared for rehab assignment

Murphy (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday, Brooke Fletcher of the Chicago Sports Network reports.

Murphy gave up seven runs over his first six innings out of the White Sox' bullpen this season before going down with a left elbow impingement. He has been sidelined for just over two weeks, so Murphy's rehab assignment shouldn't take long if all goes well.

  • Lucas Sims RP | CHW

White Sox's Lucas Sims: DFA'd by ChiSox

Sims was designated for assignment by the White Sox on Thursday.

Sims has pitched in nine games out of Chicago's bullpen and has registered a 4.50 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 10:7 K:BB across 10 innings. With Sims jettisoned from the 40-man roster, the White Sox selected Tyler Davis' contract from Triple-A Charlotte.

  • Phil Maton RP | CHC

Cubs' Phil Maton: Cleared for rehab assignment

Maton (knee) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Iowa on Friday, Bruce Levine of 670TheScore.com reports.

Maton was cleared to pitch in games after getting through a live batting practice session with no issues. Working his way back from right knee tendinitis, Maton could require just the one rehab appearance before rejoining the Cubs' bullpen. When Maton does return, he might be considered for save chances while Daniel Palencia (oblique) is out, though a 13.50 ERA before getting hurt could point to easing the former into such situations.
