Lange gave up a hit and struck out three in a scoreless ninth inning Saturday to record his third save of the season in a 3-2 win over the Twins.

Royals manager Matt Quatraro suggested earlier this week that he would be playing matchups in closing situations while Lucas Erceg worked through his struggles, but since then Lange has gotten three straight saves, with Saturday's coming when Kody Clemens, a left-handed power hitter, was leading off the ninth for the Twins and representing the tying run. Lange has been scored upon just once in his last 12 appearances, posting a 0.75 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 11:3 K:BB in 12 innings, and he appears to have seized the top spot in the Kansas City bullpen.

Taylor struck out three batters in a perfect inning to earn the save in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Phillies.

Taylor was summoned to protect a three-run lead in the ninth inning and struck out the side on 14 pitches to earn his second save of the year. Seranthony Dominguez appeared in the eighth inning Saturday and threw just 11 pitches, but the White Sox opted to go with Taylor, who hadn't pitched since Wednesday. The 24-year-old has been fantastic this season, posting a 1.93 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 50:9 K:BB with two saves and four holds across 32.2 innings.

Fitzpatrick (elbow) has been diagnosed with a left UCL strain and will get a second opinion to determine if he needs Tommy John surgery, MLB.com reports.

Fitzpatrick was removed from Friday's game against the Rockies after he appeared to suffer the elbow injury while warming up for the seventh inning. The rookie left-hander has appeared in five games out of Milwaukee's bullpen this season, allowing two runs (one earned) on seven hits and three walks with five strikeouts across 6.2 innings. Fitzpatrick is now looking at an extended absence after being placed on the 15-day injured list earlier Saturday.

Avila didn't factor into the decision Saturday, allowing one run on two hits and three walks over five innings in a 3-2 victory over the Twins. He struck out three.

The 24-year-old right-hander was lifted after 70 effective pitches (46 strikes) with the score tied 1-1, denying Avila his second win of the season. He's looked good since rejoining the Royals in late April, posting a 2.84 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 22:15 K:BB through 25.1 innings over his last 10 appearances (three starts). Avila will look to keep rolling in his next outing, which is set to come at home next weekend against the Astros.

The Nationals are expected to recall Cornelio from Triple-A Rochester on Sunday, Spencer Nusbaum of The Athletic reports.

Cornelio will make his way back up to the big-league club ahead of Sunday's series finale versus the Diamondbacks after being demoted to Rochester on April 24. The 26-year-old has posted a 4.87 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 64:26 K:BB in 44.1 innings at the Triple-A level this season.

The Athletics traded Kuhnel to Milwaukee in exchange for cash considerations on Saturday.

After being designated for assignment Friday, the Athletics decided to trade Kuhnel to Milwaukee. The 31-year-old imploded in his last appearance, allowing four earned runs on five hits in just two-thirds of an inning and took the loss after blowing a three-run lead in the bottom of the ninth. On the season, the right-hander has recorded a 4.21 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 14:6 K:BB in 25.2 innings.

The Nationals optioned Henry to Triple-A Rochester on Saturday.

Despite tossing two scoreless innings in Friday's 14-1 win over the Diamondbacks, Henry is still carrying a 6.00 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and 13:6 K:BB across 12 frames this season. Washington has yet to announce a replacement for Henry on the 26-man active roster, but the team could look to bring a fresh relief arm aboard ahead of Sunday's series finale.

Miles (3-1) earned the win in Saturday's 6-4 win over the Orioles, allowing two runs on two hits and one walk with five strikeouts over 4.1 innings.

Miles entered in the second inning and allowed a homer to the second batter he faced but was able to settle in for the win, throwing 48 of 73 pitches for strikes and recording five strikeouts despite generating only five whiffs. It was a nice rebound after the 25-year-old surrendered six runs in a starting role Sunday, and he has now yielded two earned runs or fewer while working at least three frames in five of his past six outings. He owns a 3.54 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 39:13 K:BB across 40.2 innings this season, including two starts and 15 relief appearances.

The Dodgers recalled Frasso from Triple-A Oklahoma on Saturday.

Frasso will make his first appearance in the major leagues after toiling in the organization's minor-league system since 2021. The 27-year-old has posted a 4.85 ERA, 1.85 WHIP and 24:10 K:BB across 13 innings at the Triple-A level this season. The right-hander takes the spot of Tyler Glasnow (back) on the active roster following the latter's transfer to the 60-day injured list.

Varland tossed a perfect ninth inning to earn the save in Saturday's 6-4 win over the Orioles. He did not record a strikeout.

Varland was called upon to protect a two-run lead in the ninth inning and did so on just eight pitches. The 28-year-old is now a perfect 10-for-10 in save chances this season and has gone 17 straight appearances without allowing an earned run. He owns a 0.27 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 43:9 K:BB across 33.1 innings, with the lone knock on his fantasy value being that he's occasionally been deployed before the ninth frame in other high-leverage situations.
