Elvis Peguero RP | CHW
White Sox's Elvis Peguero: Goes down with strained elbow
The White Sox placed Peguero on the 15-day injured list Thursday with a right elbow strain.
Peguero recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday and evidently hurt his elbow during his appearance in the White Sox's 11-10 loss to Atlanta later that night. He'll be eligible for activation Sept. 4, but given the nature of the injury, the righty might not be ready at that time.

Chris Martin RP | TEX
Rangers' Chris Martin: Trying PFPs again Wednesday
Martin (calf) will attempt to go through pitchers' fielding practice Wednesday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Martin suffered a setback with his left calf strain last week when he tried going through PFPs, but he will give it another go Wednesday. The veteran reliever has been sidelined for most of the second half and is likely to need at least a couple rehab appearances before being activated, even if things go better for him Wednesday than they did last week.

Caleb Boushley RP | TB
Rangers' Caleb Boushley: Starting Wednesday's game
Boushley will start for the Rangers in Wednesday's game versus the Royals, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Boushley has made five starts at Triple-A Round Rock this season and often pitches multiple innings in his relief outings with the Rangers. However, he will be taking the hill on one day of rest and last covered more than one inning in an appearance 10 days ago, so the Texas bullpen will be heavily involved Wednesday. Boushley shouldn't be expected to work deep enough into the start to qualify for a win.

Ron Marinaccio RP | SD
Padres' Ron Marinaccio: Retreats to Triple-A
The Padres optioned Marinaccio to Triple-A El Paso on Wednesday.
Marinaccio's latest stint in the big leagues lasted less than a week, as he had been called up from El Paso on Saturday. He made a two-inning relief appearance later that day against the Dodgers but had gone unused out of the bullpen in the Padres' last three games. Marinaccio will give up his spot on the active roster to lefty JP Sears, who was recalled ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday versus the Giants.

Felix Bautista RP | BAL
Orioles' Felix Bautista: Undergoes shoulder surgery
Bautista underwent surgery Tuesday to repair a torn labrum and torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder, and he is expected to be sidelined at least 12 months, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
The Orioles had previously ruled Bautista out for the season with what they referred to as a significant shoulder injury, but the reliever requiring both a labrum and rotator cuff repair is about the worst-case scenario. While the club seems to be leaving open the possibility that Bautista could return late in the 2026 season, it's likelier he's out until the 2027 campaign. Additionally, with the nature of the operation, there's a chance Bautista is never an effective pitcher again. The 30-year-old will be eligible for salary arbitration in 2026 and 2027.

Carlos Hernandez RP | CLE
Guardians' Carlos Hernandez: DFA'd by Guardians
The Guardians designated Hernandez for assignment Wednesday.
The transaction frees up spots on the active and 40-man rosters for Parker Messick, who's been summoned from Triple-A Columbus to start Wednesday's game in Arizona. Hernandez has allowed three runs with a 3:3 K:BB over seven innings since arriving in Cleveland via waiver claim and will now go through the waivers process again.

Isaiah Campbell RP | ARI
Red Sox's Isaiah Campbell: Sent back to minors
The Red Sox optioned Campbell to Triple-A Worcester on Wednesday.
Campbell made five appearances after being recalled earlier this month, yielding four runs with a 3:1 K:BB over 5.2 innings of work. The Red Sox are expected to call up right-hander Richard Fitts in a corresponding move prior to Thursday's game against the Yankees.

Evan Sisk P | PIT
Pirates' Evan Sisk: Sent back to Indianapolis
The Pirates optioned Sisk to Triple-A Indianapolis on Wednesday.
Acquired from the Royals at the trade deadline, Sisk initially reported to Indianapolis before the Pirates recalled him last Friday. The team wasted no time putting Sisk to work, as he made relief appearances four of the past five days and was charged with three earned runs on three hits and one walk while striking out four across 3.1 innings. He'll head back to the minors and give up his spot on the 26-man active roster to Johan Oviedo, who was recalled ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday versus the Blue Jays.
-
Bryce Jarvis RP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Bryce Jarvis: Back in big-league bullpen
The Diamondbacks recalled Jarvis from Triple-A Reno on Wednesday.
Jarvis has made eight appearances for Arizona this season, allowing seven runs with a 13:7 K:BB over 14.1 innings. He's pitched exclusively as a starter at Reno, so Jarvis will offer some length out of the big-league bullpen.
-
Andrew Hoffmann SP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Andrew Hoffmann: Heading back to minors
The Diamondbacks optioned Hoffmann to Triple-A Reno on Wednesday.
Hoffmann was unscored upon in his first three appearances for the Diamondbacks but was touched up for a total of five runs across his last three outings. His spot on the 26-man active roster and in the bullpen will be absorbed by Bryce Jarvis, who was recalled from Reno.
