Kevin Ginkel RP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Kevin Ginkel: Reinstated from injured list
The Diamondbacks activated Ginkel (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list Tuesday.
Ginkel has been sidelined for the first month of the season due to shoulder inflammation, but he's ready to rejoin the Diamondbacks after a two-outing rehab assignment with Triple-A Reno. The right-hander recorded five saves and 18 holds with a 3.21 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 77:15 K:BB across 70 innings last season and should fill a high-leverage role again in 2025. Justin Martinez and Shelby Miller are likely to remain the favorite for saves initially, but Ginkel could see some chances with A.J. Puk (elbow) on the injured list.

The right-hander was called up by Toronto on April 20 and struck out eight over 4.1 scoreless frames in his MLB debut that day, but he'll head back to Triple-A after giving up three runs across 2.1 innings Sunday at Yankee Stadium. Schultz is likely to get another look in the big leagues at some point this season, but for now he'll return to Buffalo.

Mets' Jose Urena: DFA'd by New York
Urena was designated for assignment by the Mets on Tuesday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
The Mets removed Urena from the 40-man roster in order to recall Kevin Herget from Triple-A Syracuse. Despite the rough outing, Urena was credited with the save.

The right-hander was claimed off waivers over the weekend and didn't make an appearance before being dumped from the 40-man roster. Devin Williams RP | NYM
Yankees' Devin Williams: Pitches clean inning in relief
Williams struck out one batter in a scoreless inning in Monday's 4-3 loss to the Orioles.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone announced Sunday that Williams was being temporarily removed as the team's closer after the right-hander gave up three earned runs in consecutive appearances. Williams got a chance to work in a lower-leverage situation Monday, as New York trailed by one in the eighth inning when he entered the game. He had little trouble dispatching of the three Orioles batters he faced, needing 14 pitches (nine strikes) to retire the side in order. If Williams is able to smooth things out and put together a string of effective outings, he could move back into the closer role in due time.

Bryse Wilson RP | PHI
White Sox's Bryse Wilson: Set to work behind opener
Wilson is expected to work in bulk relief behind opening pitcher Tyler Gilbert in Tuesday's game against the Brewers in Chicago, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
Gilbert made one-inning starts as an opener this past Friday and Saturday, and he'll likely be in line for a similar workload Tuesday before turning the game over to Wilson. After Martin Perez (shoulder) landed on the injured list April 19, Wilson was called upon to make his first start of the season last Wednesday against the Twins and took a no-decision while giving up one earned run on five hits and three walks over 2.2 innings. He tossed 55 pitches in the start and could push into the 60-to-75 range Tuesday in what's essentially his second turn through the White Sox rotation.
