Suarez (shoulder) said Saturday that he will be shut down from throwing for about three weeks, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Suarez was moved to the 60-day IL on Monday after being diagnosed with a right subscapularis strain. He'll now also be pulled off his throwing program until an MRI shows that his shoulder has begun healing, and he isn't scheduled to be re-evaluated until early May. A timeline for his return may emerge once he's cleared to resume throwing.

McDaniels tossed one-third of an inning against the Astros on Friday, allowing one run on two hits and one walk.

The Angels were down just one run when McDaniels entered in the fifth frame, but starter Jack Kochanowicz had loaded the bases with two outs after already having given up two runs in the inning. McDaniels had a chance to stem the tide, but he instead gave up a grand slam to Yainer Diaz on the third pitch he threw. The lefty hurler allowed two more baserunners before getting out of the frame, and though only one run was charged to his line, it was a rough outing for the rookie. McDaniels has been working in middle relief for the Angels this season and has a 6.23 ERA, 2.54 WHIP and 4:5 K:BB through 4.1 frames so far.

Gomez tossed two-thirds of an inning against San Francisco on Friday, allowing one run on no hits and four walks. He struck out two.

Gomez entered in the sixth inning with New York trailing by seven and promptly walked the first three batters he faced. The righty rebounded to strike out Matt Chapman and Heliot Ramos with the bases loaded, but he then issued another free pass to force in a run. Gomez didn't get a chance to throw another pitch, as Mother Nature intervened, and the contest was called due to inclement weather. Overall, Gomez threw just 14 of 33 pitches for strikes in the outing, continuing a troubling early season trend -- through seven innings this season, he's walked eight batters. Of additional concern is that Gomez's velocity was down Friday, as he averaged just 90.1 mph on his fastball. However, he said through an interpreter after the contest that he "felt good" and suggested that the rough weather may have affected his performance, mentioning "some factors" that he had to deal with, per Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. The Associated Press also notes that Gomez had trouble gripping the ball due to the rain.

Herrin (2-0) allowed one hit over 1.1 innings to pick up the win in Friday's 7-0 victory over the Royals.

Starter Tanner Bibee was pulled after giving up a fourth walk and with Cleveland leading, 3-0, in the fifth inning, paving the way for Herrin to vulture the win. The reliever has two wins and two holds over six appearances, allowing one run while striking out five over five innings. Herrin shined for the Guardians in 2024, posting a 1.92 ERA over 75 regular-season appearances (fifth in MLB). The lefty typically pitches when the Guardians are leading and/or to get out of trouble created by another pitcher.

Scott worked a perfect ninth inning Friday to record his fourth save of the season in a 3-0 win over the Cubs.

The southpaw fired 12 of 16 pitches for strikes as he delivered his fourth straight scoreless appearance to begin the month of April. Scott has some bumpy performances in March, but he appears to be settling in as the Dodgers' primary closing option, although there have been plenty of chances to go around. Blake Treinen, who worked the eighth inning Friday, also has two saves, and Alex Vesia picked one up when the Dodgers opened their campaign in Tokyo.

Vest (1-0) tossed 1.1 scoreless innings of relief and earned the win in Friday's 7-6 victory over the Twins. He allowed one hit and struck out two.

Vest recorded the last out of the bottom of the seventh inning and then pitched a clean eighth as well. After allowing a run in his first appearance of the year back on March 28 against the Dodgers, the veteran righty has rattled off five straight scoreless outings. Overall, Vest has a strong 1.59 ERA, 0.71 WHIP and seven strikeouts across 5.2 innings of relief. He should continue to work in a high-leverage role in front of Tommy Kahnle.

Ashcraft allowed one hit and one walk while striking out two over two scoreless relief innings to earn a hold in Friday's 5-3 win over Pittsburgh.

Ashcraft provided the bridge in the seventh and eighth innings, setting up Emilio Pagan for the save and picking up his second straight multi-inning hold. Ashcraft has not allowed a run over six appearances (7.1 innings) this season. Reds manager Terry Francona has leaned on Pagan as the team's closer, as the manager navigates endgame situations without Alexis Diaz (hamstring). However, Ashcraft's move from starter to reliever has been a success thus far and could eventually earn him save chances.

Diaz recorded his third save of the season in Friday's 7-6 win over the A's, giving up two runs on one hit and two walks in the ninth inning. He struck out one.

Called in to protect a 7-4 lead, Diaz nearly made a hash of it as he led off the ninth by issuing two walks sandwiched around a strikeout of Brent Rooker. A Shea Langeliers double and a JJ Bleday sacrifice fly brought home both free passes, but Diaz got Jacob Wilson to ground out to escape the jam. The veteran closer has yet to blow a save in 2025, but Diaz has been tagged for five runs in his last two appearances, leaving him with a 7.94 ERA, 1.76 WHIP and 7:4 K:BB through 5.2 innings.

The Twins recalled Funderburk from Triple-A St. Paul on Saturday.

After pitching 5.2 shutout frames with a 7:2 K:BB to start the year in Triple-A, Funderburk will now join the big-league bullpen to replace Scott Blewett, who was DFA'd in a corresponding move. Funderburk owns a 5.01 ERA and 1.44 WHIP across 46.2 frames in his MLB career, so he may be limited to low-leverage situations to begin with while on the Twins.

Graveman (back) threw a bullpen session Friday, Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports reports.

Graveman, who missed all of spring training with the injury, will require at least one more bullpen session before the next step in his recovery, which is facing live batters. After that, there is expected to be a rehab assignment.
