The right-hander nearly got chased early, serving up a two-run homer to Eloy Jimenez and a three-run shot to Gavin Sheets in the first inning, but Lopez survived the frame and settled down after that, although Minnesota was never able to erase the deficit. it's the second time in his last five starts he's been tagged for at least five runs including multiple home runs, but those outings account for five of the six long balls and 10 of the 14 earned runs he's allowed since the beginning of August -- a stretch in which he's posted a 2.29 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 61:10 K:BB through 55 innings. Lopez will look to get back on track in his next start, which is likely to come at home next weekend against the Angels.

Ragans came away with a no-decision Saturday, surrendering five runs on six hits and two walks over six-plus innings as the Royals downed the Astros 10-8. He struck out seven.

The southpaw blanked Houston for four innings before beginning to unravel, but after putting the first two batters aboard in the seventh, Ragans still left the mound in line for his seventh win before Collin Snider served up a game-tying homer to Jose Altuve. Ragans has been a revelation since being acquired from Texas in the Aroldis Chapman deal, delivering a 2.28 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 76:19 K:BB through 59.1 innings over his first 10 starts for Kansas City. He lines up for a rematch with the Astros back in Houston next weekend.

France escaped with a no-decision Saturday in the Astros' 10-8 loss to the Royals, coughing up five runs on five hits and four walks over 4.1 innings. He failed to strike out a batter.

Kansas City jumped out to a 3-0 first-inning lead in the wild affair, but France was able to avoid taking his sixth loss of the season when Houston tied things up at 6-6 in the top of the seventh. The right-hander has given up at least five runs in three of his last five starts, posting a brutal 8.87 ERA, 1.97 WHIP and 16:15 K:BB through 23.1 innings over that stretch. With the Astros in a dogfight for the AL West title -- they're a half-game up on the Rangers and 1.5 games ahead of the Mariners after Saturday's action -- France could lose his rotation spot over the final weeks of the season, with Jose Urquidy the most likely replacement.

Miller allowed four hits and a walk while striking out four over 5.1 scoreless innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Saturday.

This was Miller's sixth scoreless outing of the year and his second since the start of August. He was solid, throwing 54 of 86 pitches for strikes, but he's now gone five starts without a win. The rookie right-hander is at a 3.88 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 113:24 K:BB through 123 innings over 23 starts this season. Miller is projected to make his next start on the road versus the Rangers in what will be a key matchup in the AL wild-card race.

Rodriguez (6-4) earned the win Saturday, allowing five hits over eight scoreless innings against the Rays. He struck out seven.

Rodriguez blanked the Rays on Saturday, dishing out no walks for the first time all year while allowing just one batter to reach third base. The rookie has come on strong during the tail end of the regular season, tallying quality starts in six of his last seven appearances (43.1 innings) to earn a 2.08 ERA and a 41:10 K:BB over that stretch. He's set to make his next start on the road against the Guardians late next week.

Glasnow (9-6) took the loss Saturday, allowing six runs on eight hits and two walks over four innings against the Orioles. He struck out four.

Glasnow turned in his worst performance of 2023 on Saturday, tying his season worsts in earned runs allowed and strikeouts while failing to go deeper than four frames for the first time all year. The 29-year-old was also tagged for a two-run home run in the second inning by Gunnar Henderson. Glasnow has allowed four or more runs in back-to-back appearances and is slated to take on the Blue Jays for his next start.

Anderson allowed four runs on four hits and five walks while striking out seven over five innings in a no-decision versus the Tigers on Saturday.

Anderson matched his season high with the five walks. He gave up a three-run home run to Zack Short in the second inning and an RBI single to Miguel Cabrera in the fifth, though Anderson was spared the loss when the Angels rallied to tie the game in the ninth. The southpaw is now at a 5.43 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 119:64 K:BB through 141 innings over 27 appearances (25 starts) this season. He's lined up for a road outing in Minnesota next weekend.

Gipson-Long allowed a run on two hits and three walks while striking out 11 over five innings in a no-decision versus the Angels on Saturday.

Gipson-Long gave up his first home run, a solo shot to Nolan Schanuel in the third inning, but it was an otherwise impressive second start for the rookie right-hander. Gipson-Long has allowed three runs over 10 innings while posting a 16:3 K:BB across his first two major-league outings. Assuming he's earned another start, he lines up for a favorable road outing in Oakland next week.

Weaver did not factor into the decision Saturday, allowing three runs on four hits and two walks over four innings against the Pirates. He struck out seven.

Despite being claimed off waivers just four days prior, Weaver drew the start against Pittsburgh on Saturday and was serviceable. He limited the Pirates to just four hits, though one was a two-run homer by Bryan Reynolds in the first inning. Overall, Weaver owns an ugly 6.77 ERA on the season and shouldn't be considered in most leagues even if he remains part of the New York starting rotation.

Bibee did not factor into the decision Saturday, allowing one run on five hits over 5.1 innings in a 2-1 victory over the Rangers. He struck out four.

The lone run against Bibee came in the fifth frame, where he allowed a single to Evan Carter and a double to Marcus Semien on back-to-back at-bats. The 24-year-old right-hander has now allowed six or fewer hits in six consecutive appearances, a stretch in which he owns a 3.24 ERA and a 35:10 K:BB across 33.1 innings. Bibee is expected to toe the mound next against the Orioles at Progressive Field.
