Bassitt (14-8) took the loss Monday, allowing five runs on nine hits and three walks over 5.1 innings against the Rangers. He struck out three.

Bassitt had gone eight innings in each of his last two starts, allowing just one run in that span. He'd struggle Monday against the Rangers, however, allowing five runs on nine hits, the most he's surrendered in a start since June 13. Overall, the 34-year-old Bassitt sports a 3.83 ERA with a 1.21 WHIP and 161:55 K:BB across 30 starts (178.2 innings) this season. He'll look to bounce back in his next outing, currently lined up for this weekend against the Red Sox.

Dunning (10-6) earned the win Monday, allowing three runs on six hits and three walks over six innings against Toronto. He struck out seven.

After allowing nine runs out of the bullpen in his last appearance, Dunning was sharp in his return to a starting role, recording a quality start and a win over the Blue Jays. The 28-year-old Dunning had struggled to a 6.13 ERA in his previous nine outings (47 innings). Overall, he sports a 3.91 ERA with a 1.28 WHIP and 122:48 K:BB across 152 innings this season. Dunning's currently lined up for a road matchup with the Guardians in his next start.

Schmidt won't make his scheduled start after Monday's game against the Red Sox was postponed due to inclement weather, Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports.

Schmidt is now slated to toe the rubber Wednesday. Randy Vasquez will start Game 1 of Tuesday's twin bill and Carlos Rodon is set to handle the nightcap, per Chris Kirschner of The Athletic.

Crawford won't start Monday's game against the Yankees as the game has been postponed due to rain, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

Crawford will pitch the second game of Tuesday's twin bill after Monday's game was called off. Nick Pivetta will get the nod in Game 1.

Miller is expected to throw around 50 pitches or three innings Monday against the Astros, Nathan Han of MLB.com reports.

Miller saw action out of Oakland's bullpen Wednesday against the Blue Jays (no runs allowed and three strikeouts over two innings), and he's now set to move back into a starting role. The A's will unsurprisingly keep a close eye on the young right-hander as the team stretches him back out.

The Angels reinstated Suarez (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list Monday.

Suarez has been on the shelf since early May and was pulled off his minor-league rehab assignment in late July, but he's apparently made significant progress behind the scenes at the Angels' spring training facility in Arizona over the past month. Before straining his left shoulder in May, Suarez had been part of the Anaheim rotation, but due to his extended absence, he'll most likely be eased back into the mix in a relief role.

Singer will not make his scheduled start Monday against the White Sox with the contest being postponed due to rain.

Singer will have to wait a little longer than anticipated to take the mound, but not much, as he is scheduled to start the first game of the twin bill the Royals and White Sox will play Tuesday. Unless he gets an extra day of rest between starts, he will still get two starts during the current scoring period.

Cease will not make his scheduled start Monday against the Royals with the contest being postponed due to rain.

While Cease will not take the mound Monday, he will get the ball in the first game of the doubleheader that will be played Tuesday, and if he remains on regular rest he will still make two starts before the week comes to a close.

Sale's next scheduled start will come Saturday against the Blue Jays, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

Sale was set to take the ball Thursday against the Yankees, but he hasn't been particularly sharp in recent weeks, so he will get a couple extra days to rest before getting back up on the bump. The Red Sox have yet to name a starter for Thursday's game in place of Sale.

Bieber (elbow) is scheduled to make his first rehab start Tuesday with Double-A Akron.

Sidelined since the All-Star break with right elbow inflammation, Bieber was cleared to face hitters last week and has now graduated to the final phase of his recovery program. He's expected to toss three innings or around 55 pitches Tuesday, per Joe Noga of The Cleveland Plain Dealer. Guardians manager Terry Francona has previously mentioned Sept. 20 as a loose target for Bieber's return from the 60-day injured list, so based on that timeline, the 2020 American League Cy Young Award winner could make two starts in the minors prior to being activated. Bieber went 5-6 with a 3.77 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 95:33 K:BB in 117 innings with Cleveland this season prior to being shut down with the injury.
